ODI - question Master Repo in 11.1.2.2

Hello world

When creating the master repository using the ODI Studio, am getting error below. I configured successfully ERPI 11.1.2.2.

DB: Sql Server 2012

URr DB: jdbc:weblogic:sqlserver: / / < servername >: 1433; dataBaseName < dbname > =

Is there any setting I'm missing?

Is there a driver I need to download for the setup of SQL Server database? Please suggest.

Hi all

Thank you for your quick response.

I have solved the problem by creating the master repository & working with the utility of the UCR and upgrade the Installation of ODI.

Thank you

  • Connection of 11g ODI with master repo name or repo work.

    Hello
I have a small doubt please provide details.
I created master repository name and login for it.
I created the repository works by for the master repo. While the creation of ODI asked on behalf of connection required, I clicked on Yes, gave the name of connection WORKREP1.
Now I'm able to see two login names a master repo and WORKREP1. and I see 2 radio buttons under the repositoy of work in the repository connection information window.
For the master login name of repo I checked working repository button and chose the repo work such as WORKREP1 and loged in the created models and many interfaces. Which I think is the right way. Or should I login/CONNECT with username WORKREP1. for my work?

In the frame of reference if I select the "repository of the Mater only", then I realized that my master repo repo and the work is the same is correct?

    Thank you

In ODI 11 g, you don't need to have the different username for master and work. You can use the same. If you check only the master repository, you will be connected to only the topology and the security officer and if you check necessary repository work you will be able to connect to the designer and operator (DWR) as well.

To answer your question, I am sure, other than the login name of the other as a master repository user/password credentials, user ODI/Password etc. will be the same. So just do your Workrep1 your default login with the repository of work required and start your development.

hope this helps and answers your question.

  • Work Repo/Master Repo/schema owner passwd

I ran Rcu, was asked first to choose the owner of the schema of work and Master repo password, then asked before repo password works, I have not this, then this password I gave it to fisrt (some same password for all the owner of the schema)... also not to mention that I have the user initially sysdba password...

can someone explain why are there so many password...

I know that we need the user sysda to create the schema "work and master," then gave the same password too... now finally working again repo password...

    Please explain

    Concerning

    Hi rickepm,

    • The SYSDBA password must be entered because the RCU it will use to connect to the database and create the schema that contains your master repositories and knit _ODI_REPO.
    • Then you must choose a password for this _ODI_REPO on the database schema.
    • You must select a password for the repository to work. Each repository work has a password is requested when linking it to a master repository. The UCR will do it for you automatically. You can see this SNP_LOC_REPW table definition in the repository. Basically, it's to avoid anyone setting a working on the repository repository main wrong in the topology.
    • You will also need to choose a password for the SUPERVISOR account which is the first admin account. You can create your own account later.

    It will be useful.

    Kind regards

  • Master repo, Repo and installing the ODI

    Hello
I have doubts for windows flatform thereafter.

I'm incorporating two application systems tell (source) & B (Target) their data in servers different oracle db.

    (1) installation of server ODI will be on source server/target/other machine?

    (2) where can we establish master repositories & working on the source/target server?

    (3) if my goal is remote host then where can I install and run agents?

    (4) all by creating physical diagrams we can select the scheme of work as being different, is the scheme of work is like staging area? the design of the interfaces should I choose this scheme of work as transit area? What is the advantage to have this scheme of work different from my target/soruce schema. ?

    (5) I read that ODI will create tables temparory while junk food to run ODI objects each time and these tables is given, I happen to give up all these temporary tables in the scheme of work, even after or before the execution of the interface?

    Please provide details.
    Thank you.
    MNK

    Hello

    Find my answers below,

    (1) installation of server ODI will be on source server/target/other machine?

Its always recommended to install ODI in your TARGET server for good performance.

    (2) where can we establish master repositories & working on the source/target server?

Server TARGET and make sure you have dedicated schema master rest and work.

    (3) if my goal is remote host then where can I install and run agents?

Once again in the TARGET host, you can install ODI, run the agent of time in separate servers, take a look at the ODI installation guide.

    (4) all by creating physical diagrams we can select the scheme of work as being different, is the scheme of work is like staging area?

Yes ODI will make the scheme of work to create a temparory (tables of $) and which will act as a staging area.

the design of the interfaces should I choose this scheme of work as transit area?

No need to select any scheme of work as such, while the design interface, only you must select the respective LOGICAL schema that implicitly create arrays $ in the u of scheme of work selected in the PHYSICAL schema.

What is the advantage to have this scheme of work different from my target/soruce schema. ?

You will not need to have a dedicated space to "staging" to consolidate your multiple/single source database.

    (5) I read that ODI will create tables temparory while junk food to run ODI objects each time and these tables is given, I happen to give up all these temporary tables in the scheme of work, even after or before the execution of the interface?

No need. ODI will take care to drop and CREATE tables $ on FLY.

For simple data integration, 2 tables will be created in the runtime, C$ I $ which in turn will be abandoned after loading the table TARGET.

    Makes sense?

PS: Comments of Experts are welcome.

    Thank you

  • Demo ODI - question repository work environment

I am a newbie at ODI and downloaded the software and demonstration environment (more instructions). The Installer seems to be okay, but when I get to the point where I should connect to the demo environment, I follow the instructions, but can't type in WORKREP as a repository of work - the field is grayed, and I can't go any further.

I started the demo environment using startdemo.bat, and everything seems OK (or at least no error) apart from that.

Am I right to say that the UCR does not need to be run, just to use the demo environment?

Please can someone help? I would like to evaluate the product, but have to face the wall.

    Thank you very much

    Ian

    Hi Ian,

I checked the short video you sent me on my personal email. The error you receive is because of the incorrect password ODI.

I think the ODI password should be CHARGE and not SUNOPSYS as stated in my original post.

Please try with SUNOPSIS, password demo environment default ODI SUNOPSIS value, unless you explicitly changed it to SUNOPSYS.

Come to your 2nd question, I don't think that any demo Virtual Box VM to ODI will be publicly available.

  • Question: Master Spec Image output printing missing on trade in the PDF?

We are on v6114 in DEV.

Recently, we fixed a jpeg file as a support document to a master specification which is directly related to a trade and the jpeg file is true on the supplier portal.  We are able to see the JPEG format of the specification of Master of print Spec of the provider of the trade portal.  We do not see the same image when we choose to include the main specification in the print function of the exhibition center.  We see only the layout of text / entries of master spec when we expected to find that image.  We expected that the trade of printing would be quite the same as the print provider portal.  It is not in this regard.

Is there a configuration that lack us to get there?

    Best, Beckie

    Hi Beckie,

It works on attachment master impression of 6.0.x (can in spec trade parent), so in my opinion, this is a bug in 6.1.1.4, please submit a bug so developer can examine the issue and difficulty.

  • ODI - question Datastore Designer

    Hello

I'm new on ODI and I am currently using version 10.1.3.5 ODI.
I followed John Goodwin largely blog to learn the ODI and it has been extremely helpful so far.

Now, to the blog entry "ODI Series 4 - enter the Designer" I'm stuck at the stage of the CSV file.
After successfully creating file account.csv, I did the entries in the data store for the same thing. But when I'm clicking the invert in the data store I'm not able to see the entries in the column. In addition, it gives no error.
All the configurations that I did the same thing are strictly under the terms mentioned in the blog.

So, any help on this issue is welcome.
    Looking forward to your answers.

    Thank you and best regards,
    Atul

Your error message indicates that there is an error of synatax near the key word "TABLE".

I checked your information of the description tab.

    It was like
    Select from the TABLE...;
But when we try to extract data from a file, the file name with the path normally appears after the from clause.
    as
    "from... /Demo/file/test.txt T1.
    where (1 = 1)

    / * $$ SNPS_START_KEYSNP$ CRDWG_TABLESNP$ CRTABLE_... »

first of all this source table gives data at the level of the odi?
    1. If it is Yes, the problem may be with the knowledge module you used. Try again with different KMS used for flat files in your staging area.
2 if not, then work on it before execution.

  • ODI working repository properties.

in the ODI topology tab, we have a box where we can create, move, and set new standards.  I'm exploring this section and did not understand the multiple passwords and user name.

for example when you create a new repository of work, you specify a username, password, url, hit test, jdbc driver and if it is OK to accept your connection with the database. then move you find tab where you can give the repository id, username, password

My question is why I give the user name and password on this tab, is the database user name and password is not enough.  What is the functionality of it.

    Please explain

You can skip setting a password for the repo work.

You need this to restrict the repo work if trying to attach to another master repo without authentication.

Master repository storing all connection details / info security / focus on the details of the case.
Model is a design-time object that resides in the working directory.

That follows will give you an idea of the reverse engineering
    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E21764_01/integrate.1111/e12643/create_rev_model.htm#ODIDG221

Although it is for Oracle, the process remains even for SQL Server also.

  • Production cycle of ODI

    Guys,
A basic question.when we build our ODI model we build using database development using the topology of dev and we build our interfaces using this model. When we move to production, we just need to configure the topology pointing to production and use that when we execute our interface.is that right? or do we build our model using tables of production using the topology of production and then build our interface using this model.

than the one that we need to do? or do we need the two models of odi and then use dev model to build the interface, and then when we run
Just use the topology of production... IAM get confused a bit here, could you please me clear on this.

    See you soon

When you have a standard installation of ODI: (one master repository and several repositories of work - one for the dev and test for prod).
You will define all the dev, test and prod connections in the architecture of the physical topology.
You will need to create a context for the dev, a test and one for prod.
For each of these contexts, you will link the physical according to connection. What you have to do through the logical architecture.
The models that you use in your scenario s, interfaces, procedures, variables are related to this logical architecture and will use the correct physical architecture when you choose "dev" or "test" or "prod" context when executing it.

  • problem connecting to the database (master repository)

    Hello

    I am a beginner ODI.

J "tried to connect to oracle 11g pay do the test. But my connection is not always valid.

Is there a driver to install for ODI 11.1.7 connection to in to the database?

    Hello

1.) first create a schema of Master_repo and work_repo your oracle database (or you can create a single dev_odi_schema for the master repository and work)

(2.) in ODI, create master repository using schema Master_repo

    File---> New---> master repository Wizard

3.) of files in ODI---> New---> create a new ODI repository connection.

4.) now connect with newly created connection of ODI

5.) navigator in topology, there are referential tab where you can create the repository to work.

6.) create connection to repository work. and you can work in it.

  • Question about alignments multiple choice or true/false response

When I insert a questionnaire to multiple choice or true/false question, the second answer (answer B for each type of question, is misaligned with his radio button):

During these questions master blade looks like this:

I can't understand how to align the answer with its radio button.  Any ideas?

    I use CP 7.0.1.237 on Windows 7.

Thank you.  I'll go ahead and mark this thread as a response.   I like the feature of automatic resizing of legends, but it messes up the alignment of the answer.

  • EMP, dept, master - detail

    Hello everyone,

Whenever reading examples of master / detail, the authors explain the Employee and Department tables.
    Our question is who's who.
    Thanks in advance,
    S! G

    It's a good question;
    Master: parent - Department
    Detail: child - employee
In the United States, we have introduced the DB with the classic examples.
If S! G other issues, please report it.
    Otherwise:
Relatively useful brand or respond accordingly.

  • Approach recommended for import and export. ?

    Hi Experts,

I have 2 Master Repo, that one is for TEST (host DB: 192.168.0.23) and others DEV (DB host: 192.168.0.24), can I import the DEV to TEST WORKREP1.

Is it a good process to go, or do we need to create a schema/user and create a WORKREP in TEST and import interfaces/packages from WORKREP1 of DEV. ???
I googled but did not have exact import of the repo work instructions. .

    I use ODI 11.1.1.9.

    Please help me.

    Thank you

    Shakur.

    Hi Santosh,

If you move it for the first time, you can directly import repositories. However, please first create a schema and then point on this repository. Make sure that the repository IDS are different from DEV.

You can export master and repository in 2 different files as well to work and use them to import into TEST.

    Kind regards

    Andy
