ODI - reverse the data of the file store?

Hi gurus,

I'll put up the ODI for plainning application

I have installation topology and have creatred models.

Our requirement is to load the Member of Dimension Plannig of flat files.

So I have to the templates in the designer of... One for the flat file... one for planning.

I did the opposite of the planing model succesfull, and she filled with all dimensions.

Now, I want to do the opposite for the file also.

But when I'm walking back on the model of file it says... cannot reverse the file template, go to the columns in the data source tab and then do the opposite.

I created a server manulayy Say for accounts Dimension data, went on the colum tab, then did the revere, he succeeded.

But the problem is that the columns are like c1, c2, c3... so on.

They do not have to come from the way the data store was filled when I reverence for data store planning.

If anyone can suggest me a good way to make this event for that datasource is properly filled with the correcct names,

Also is there a way to fill (reverse) model of file data source... for all files (say 15) and not individulally one by one.

Suggestions would be much appreciated

Thanks in advance

If your file as header records make it sure in the files tab set heading 1 then when you reverse the columns that it must pick up the column headings

  • ODI - Reverse Engineering of a txt file

Hello everyone, I am working with ODI and I need to create a model in a txt file-based ODI.

In this file, each record is limited by the size, I mean that each record is 200 characters. This file has ONE line because its format said that each record is limited by the length (200 characters per record).

I tried to create the model of this file, but I couldn't. I was able to recreate the file columns (each column has the same size as I used for this option "set" for the file format option), but I couldn't separate each record as the only available options are:

    1 return BACK
    2 Unix carriage return

  • Removing data with .dvsdata file store

I would like to delete a store of data from my ESXi 5.0 environment.  I used Storage vMotion to move all virtual machines to other data warehouses.  If I now navigate in the data store remaining single folder is .dvsdata for my distributed vSwitch.

When that I run net-dvs, it shows still three entries pointing to the data store that I want to remove.  Is it possible to manually move this folder?  Or - is it safe to remove the data store and vCenter will take care of the rest?

    Fix

What is a correlation one between the size of the VM and the VM file size?

Example: If the Win2K8 server reaches 1 TB, the size of the VM file also to 1 TB?

There are two types of vmdk (the VM disk):

    • thickness: file is allocated in advance... so in your case, the file is already a file of 2 TB
    • thin: file is dynamic and reach the size max

And finally, if the maximum of 2 TB is reached on the Win2K8 server how to add

You can't... 2 TB is the max disk size.

    You can add more drives.

  • VStorage different Motion - copy of the file on a data store vmdk

    Hi all

Hoping that someone will be able to help with a problem I have right now.

    Configuration:

NetApp SAN - vmfs data warehouses.

Data for the migration store is synchronous to a recovery site.

I planned a day to the next task to migrate a VMDK virtual machines to a non synchronous Datastore to synchronous data store.  When I arrived yesterday morning - the virtual machine has been turned on - but I couldn't access the console and migration was still sitting 89% full.

Checked the Netapp Filer and found the copy of the snapshot is greater than the instant space on the volume.

SnapMirror suspend and break.  Delete the copy of Netapp snapshot on the volume.  Once I had done this on the Netapp file server - virtual machine has begun to respond to ping and I was able to access the console.

I restarted the VM Windows - to make sure everything was fine - as the date / time on the server was out of sync with the date and time - so again, I am happy that my virtual machine is now in place and running.

Problem. : I migrated virtual disks - one both of the old data store to the new - no problems - until I'm gone make the last record and felt that there is not enough space on the data store - now it would have taken and further investigation found that the virtual disk I wanted to migrate — was already sitting on the new data store.

Check the settings on the virtual machine shows that the file in question vmdk is still sitting on the old data store - but - I also have a copy of the vmdk - same size etc. - file sitting on the new data store.

RVtools displays the disk on the new data as a Zombie VMDK store.

Question: What vmdk file is the one I need to remove?  I think about the new data store - in addition, shown as a zombie in RVTools vmdk - also, shows only not the settings of the virtual machine.

All find what vmdk file, the system uses permanently.

    Thank you very much

Open the .vmx file and check the path to your vmdk here.

If you can, backupo the VMDK at both ends before going any further.

as the VC (and I hope that the .vmx), as well as RVtools indicate that the destination is a zombie. . I would lean towards this being the one to delete.

In theory, if you use the browser to store data to try to remove a new and it's in use, you will get an error message, so if it removes OK, you should be good to continue from where you were before.

    Good luck.

  • Copy of the file of the virtual machine to the data store

    Hello

I downloaded 10 GB of ISO my VM 2003 SRV. Now I want to move these files to my data store, so I can mount them when necessary. So far, the only way I see is to move the files to my XP pre-installed and choose Download via the browser of data store. I use ESXI and manage via Vcenter. I have the essentials package.

I don't know that there is a smarter way?

    TIA

If you need copy (ISO, vmdk) files in your data warehouse, using the client data via vSphere store browser works. You could also SCP your connection to your ESXi Server files and selecting data warehouses with software like FastSCP or WinSCP.

I think that hard & .vsmp be used & locked is why you are unable to download it. Try to download the file, whereas the VMs system is turned off

  • How can I get the size of the files in a data store?

I use the file dsbrowse.pl as a starting point for gathering information on the data stores for different scheduled reports.

All this information is available using the API of vSphere specifically: *SearchDatastoreSubFolders_Task() , which allows all types of complex queries, including a specific type of files, models, etc..

  • List of the files in the data store for the virtual machine

    Hello

How to list the files of data store for the virtual machine? I can't find reference to the command.

    Thank you

If you have installed vCLI and vSphere SDK for Perl, you have extra utilities on top of what is there with the vCLI, take a look at this list: http://www.vmware.com/support/developer/viperltoolkit/viperl40/doc/vsperl_util_index.html

  • field mapping in ODI with the text tab cross as a source data file

    Hi all

I have a requirement in which I would be having a cross tab data file and I need to load the essbase cube, use this file as a source.
The format of the file is such that it would contain data for all 52 weeks in one line with different columns for the different weeks.

I have a dimension for which will be week 1... .week 52 as the lowest level.

How can I map data to the contour of the position reversed such file?

    Thank you

    In the options of RKM

    Set
    MULTIPLE_DATA_COLUMN = Yes
DATA_COLUMN_DIMENSION = name of Dimension for example period or years
    DATA_COLUMN_MEMBERS = week1, semaine2,... Week52

  • A string that can be displayed as ASCII and hex in an indicator will allow not to store the data in a file in ASCII format

You can see the data in an indicator very well, but when we try to write this string of hexadecimal data in a file, it will only save the data in ASCII format.

This seems simple enough, as the indicator can be selected to display the data in different formats (VI > properties > appearance > display Style: Normal, backslash, hexadecimal).  However, I could not, for the moment save data in different formats.

    Altenbach says:

... or you can just read the string: text.text property to get everything that is actually displayed.

    Like this...

  • How to propagate the column names in the file engineering reverse to db table?

    Hello

I have successfully reverse engineered column about 100 names on the first line of a file flat .cvs in a data store of file (technology) using ODI 11.1.1.

Now I would like to imitate what I used to do with OWB: simply propagate these column names from my data file store flat source to my table (in the meantime) target store empty db.

    How can I do?

    ---

I tried as much as one can intuitively: drag the columns in my store of source (depending on model) to my target db table that is open in the main view, but ODI Studio just opens as Inspector tabs for columns.

In my loading interface, if I choose 'Temporary target', it behaves exactly as I want (rigth click .cvs file to map the tab 'Add a column to the target'), even the chains are transformed into Varchar2...
... only, it will not implement target as a permanent store if I uncheck 'Temporary' and I can't select and copy the entire grid to export elsewhere.

Generating the DDL to create a target table db and reverse would still be acceptable to me but generating the DDL for a store file does not make sense to ODI.

    Any help?

    Thank you

    2 quick ways to do:

1.) copies the file according to the data store and then move it to the Oracle based model.
2.) use CFD (designer of common Format) and create a diagram in your model of Oracle based. Drag and drop the file based model in there.
