  1. launch McAfee analysis, took the hour and a half,... no virus is detected.
   
  2. unplug the computer and turn it back... re-started in normal mode and safe mode, after reboot, problem still there...
   
  3. re-started in normal mode, perform a restore of the system to a previous date... tried 2 times, but still problem after restore.
   
  4. tried to restore the system to safe mode, but find out they do not have restore option in SafeMode... don't understand why.

  Honestly I've read a lot about this. There are so many messages that MS needs to make some kind of announcement. There are many theories about what is causing the issue, and most of them seem to be centered around the antivirus, firewall and other. I read that Windows 8 has strengthened its security and protection with Windows Defender anti-virus. I had the same questions as everyone else. My metro apps wouldn't work. Click it, you get a splash screen, and then it seems to be load with points of spinning in a circle and that's all I could get. I worked on this for 2 days and with extreme frustration. I took some advice from some other people having the same problem and I completely uninstalled Mcafee Security Suite, rebooted the computer and low and behold, that resolved 'my' problem. As for others, I can't say. I've never once refreshed or borrow. I wish I had done just a couple of days! I hope you make the right decision for yourself. I have now no antivirus 3rd party anything on my system. I'm a careful Internet user when it comes to the internet and I stay away from any type of file-sharing sites.   I had exactly the same thing happens my laptop Satellite L70-C-12R and said I need to buy a factory reset USB from TOshiba (£42). This seemed to do the trick, but I see once more that are problems before the accident. laptop not to close (continuous reboot itself), extended screens goes black and now the anniversary 10 Windows Update will not install with error 80070008 0 x.

  I have run exactly the same OS and software on my Asus and have no problem at all.

  I suspect it's a clash of 10 Toshiba/Windows somewhere.

• HP Pavilion p6210y: Office flashing after upgrade Windows 10

  I have a flashing desktop (goes black and office) after upgrade to Windows 10.  Once connected, it is fine for about 10-15 seconds, then it starts flashing. I couldn't do anything - click on anything except CTRL-ALT-DEL to go to the Task Manager.

  I did the upgrade 2 x already. Before my first attempt, I do nothing with my PC - I did not update the driver. When I arrived the office flashing after improvement, I panicked and immediately brought back to Windows 7.   Satellite P300 is plu laptop comes with Vista, but also supported for Win7. Unfortunately, it is not supported for Win8 so, in my opinion, there is no sense to install Win8 on it.

  Win7 works perfectly on this machine so if possible use Win7 on it. in case you want to use original Vista, you must install recovery using recovery DVD image. This way only to s to have factory settings once again.

  I n t have this model of laptop and cannot say with certainty how it works with Windows 7, but what I know is this principle for Os and driver installation is the same for all operating systems.

  I checked the Toshiba download page and saw that you can download the Installation for Vista order document. Use this list for installing drivers, tools and utilities.
  I guess you have to make mixture between Vista and Win7 stuff.

  Follow this checklist and install Win7 stuff, if they are available. If something is missing, try to use the Vista stuff. It should work.
