MSUpdate is probably the last place you want to get updates of
None of the updates that show you are updates required.
Pilots should not be updated except to heal a specific problem, or to give added features.
If you have need of updates to get them; If a large OEM, for example Dell / HP or laptop on this site of decision-makers, if a generic oem PC on the sites of individual hardware manufacturers.
Change your settings for MSUpdate to only install the critical updates.

  • Customize a slide show using the images of several different themes.

I downloaded several themes for Windows 7 and can change between them. What I want to do is to create a custom theme using the photos of the themes that I have. In other words, chosen pictures of the Germany, the United States, the Bing and themes Aero to a custom theme.

Now what I get from the help files, is that, to do this, I need to have all the photos into a single file. It's not a problem, but for one thing. I can't FIND the pictures of the theme. Properties on the photos don't show their location, and they are not saved in the folder my pictures.

Research of the pictures showed thousands of back, it's not a viable option.

How to find pictures of the theme?

    Hello mac173173,

Thank you for visiting the Microsoft answers community.

In addition to the these suggestions, you can also go into Desktop Backgrounds under each theme and make a copy of the images you want to set up, and then select the images for the Undertow.

-Right click Desktop > click Customize
-Click on desktop background > right click on each image you want to save > select make a copy (place the copy in a folder in your library of images that you want to use)

Repeat for each image throughout each theme. The select images to include in the background slide show.

  • Two monitors with different slide shows?

I recently acquired a second monitor and I already put it in place so that the monitors have different origins, but I want to know is whether or not you can make a background on the first monitor slide show and a quite different background slide show on the second monitor at the same time? The reason is that my second monitor is much larger than my first and so will not have to show the same images.

    Hi Siahara,

Yes, you can make a background on the first monitor slide show and a quite different background slide show on the second monitor at the same time. You can even set a slide show to scroll through the photos on all screens, or take pictures of specific background for each monitor.

  • System restore failed: no changes made to the computer (Windows XP sp3)

Hello. When I use the system restore, the program looks good until you restart. Next, I get a Sys Res window that says simply "system restore was not entirely successful. No changes have been made to your computer. »

The help file repeated that the Sys res window.

I made sure that the system restore service is, in fact, running. Also the Message Center does not appear to give any errors related to the system restore.

I tried several restore points the past two days, including a checkpoint of the system.

The rest of my computer works like a charm, save a program that I really need work. I want to go back a few edits I made (which had nothing to do with the programs of bricks) to see if for some reason, it would work. Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I understand that you use Norton or McAfee, but I stick my standard "System Restore does not" answer for you to read and meditate.

Microsoft suggests that if SR does not behave, sometimes it will behave if you start in Mode safe then give a whirl.  It could also be that your SR is reached, you must reinstall (you don't have to reinstall XP - only the part of SR).

    Here you go:

What is your system brand and model?
What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?

You have a genuine XP installation CD bootable, which is the same Service as your installed Service Pack (this is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, MSE, Comodo, etc..
What is the issue that you are experiencing that you think that the system restore will be remedied (or you are just convenient)?  Remember that the system restore is not a time machine.

Have you ever used the system restore to restore your system in the past?

Describe exactly what happens when you try to perform a system restore and the error messages you see which indicates that it does not work.

Some tools Anti Virus 'protect' your system so that they will not allow a restore of the system work properly.

For example, if you use Norton/Symantec products, you will see a message like this:
Restoration incomplete. Your computer cannot be restored...
It is also a popular Symantec problem (well, I'll be polite and call an "undocumented feature"...), they wrote an article about it:
According to what you use for malware protection, you may need to disable the product temporarily, do the system restore and then turn the products light up again when the system restore is complete.
Sometimes you need start your system in Mode safe and so that your protection programs are not running, and then do the system restore.  Tips from Microsoft in some of their articles that if the system restore does not restore your computer, start in Safe Mode, and then run the system restore.  It works for some configurations.
System Restore is sometimes so afflicted or Restore Points are suspicious, the best solution is to reinstall your system restore.  This will remove the old Restore Points, but sometimes it's the only way to fix a broken system restore.  You don't have to reinstall XP, only the part of system restore.
That can leave you with your problem of unspecified origin that you hope the system restore will fix (using a system restore is usually not equivalent to fixing the problem though).
Give these ideas some consideration if they apply to you.
Sometimes malicious will afflict your system restore to prevent you to find and remove malware.  It would much rather you trick into thinking that you need to repair or reinstall your XP when it is not necessary.
No matter what you use for protection against malware, I do so and then only begin to solve any problems:
Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs can solve any problems:
    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/
It can be uninstalled later if you wish.
The scans by operating clean, reboot, test and we can fix any other issues.
