(I speak from a point of view of Windows, but it is unlikely that Linux will differ)

  The other approach is to download the update of the firmware on your computer and then update the printer. You can find the update of the firmware on the same page as the drivers and software for printers. Just scroll down until you see the Firmware and click on it.
