OfficeJet 4630: digitization of jet Office 4630 for mac

I'm trying to scan from officejet 4630 on my mac laptop. It gives me a message "Scan of the computer can not be activated. It also says "Please download and install the latest version of the software from the HP Web site". I did it twice and I still got the same message. I am able to print perfectly but will not scan. What can I do?

Hi @laley,

Thanks for joining the Forums of HP Support with your scanning problem.

I understand that you use a HP Officejet 4630 e-all-in-one printer with a Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan computer and you are unable to scan. I would like to help with that.

You mentioned that you have installed the printer software. The next thing I would do is to reset the Mac printing system. Here is an Apple Support document that can help needed - reset the printing system.

After resetting the printing system, the printer will have to be added to the printers and Scanners window. You want to make sure that you select the driver "HP OfficeJet 4630 series" instead of the "AirPrint" driver in the menu in the printer window 'Add' drop-down 'use'. Here is a document that can help with this if needed - Add or remove a printer.

Please let me know if that solves the problem, or if you need assistance.

    4. Turn on the printer.

    5. Turn on the computer.

    6. On the desktop, double-click Macintosh HD, click Applications, click the Hewlett-Packard or HP folder, and then double-click the HP utility.

NOTE: If the HP utility is not in the folder, go to the step install the software for your printer HP.

    7. Under scan settings, click Scan of the computer, and then make sure the enable scanning to computer checkbox is selected.

    8. Try to scan.

I found the solution on the answers.microsoft.com site:

Just look for the thread titled

"Microsoft for Mac 2011 auto update stuck in the cycle of the strange"

Problem is that your Installer is coming from a DVD player that has the older version of the installer.

Therefore, follow the instructions on the thread (there are several options available).

I solved my problem by going to the Microsoft Web site and download Office 14.6.3

directly from their site < -.

  • Office 2011 for Mac update (2.3.6) will not be installed.

I installed Office 2011 Home and Business on a new iMac with OS X 10.11.4. After installing, I ran the auto update. He noted a critical update 2.3.6 and that all other updates can take place without it. It is downloaded, but every time I try to install it comes back looking for updates and specifies that this (2.3.6) is available and ready to install.

On the Mac coming out on the same OS, there was no problem, and there were several more recent updates. I tried to uninstall Office and start again. Always the same question. Web sites to which I was directed by the automatic update should it not download, has no mention of this update. Any ideas on how to proceed and if it is a security risk?

  • Office 365 for Mac, compared to Office for Mac 2016

Thank you in advance. Background: on my MBP 2014, I installed initially Office 2011 and well just a bit awkward it was great. About a month ago, with the release, I'm subscribed to Office 365 personal (including Outlook) for Mac (~$70/yr). Functions are acceptable for good, really no complaints. I'm a professor and psychologist and count on my desk intensively. So, a more personal and technical question:

    (1) what are the essential differences in the professional features 365 vs 2016 products (Office in the box)?

    (2) I recently discovered that I have access to Office for Mac 2016 family and professional that I can get through a MS discount at $9.99 per year. This is a "local installation" and includes the Office suite basic as above. I'm a fool to pay $70 to 365 when I can get _presumptively_ the equivalent of Office for Mac 2016 for $10?

    Vive and TY!

I can't speak for Mac versions, but I'm familiar with versions of Windows. Subscription Office 365 service is an annual payment, but as long as you're subscribed, the software will continue to be updated behind the scenes. I am as well, Professor in business technology, and we have students here at the College use Office 365. They get the version of the University, which is the same as Office Professional, and they can get a subscription to 4 years for a reduced price. That started with the Windows version of office 2013, and now they get the upgrade to Office 2016. Have you checked with your TI University Department to see if you have access to the software through the University and Microsoft volume licensing? Who can usually net you have the full professional version for little or no cost.

DOE this office for Mac 2016 Home and Business provide you with all the software you need? Many lesser versions contain no Outlook or Access, but if they contain all the software you use and that you need, then it should be an easy decision.

  • What is the difference between Office 2008 for Mac and Office for Mac home & edition student?

    Hello
I think buying or the other, but do not understand what the difference is. In the description they say that Office 2008 contains Microsoft Server Exchange Support and Automator Actions for Workflows in Microsoft Office in addition to the standard programs. I also know that the support of Microsoft Exchange Server is required for some advanced features of Entourage to work, but I don't know what are the characteristics and also what Automator Actions? I want to make a decision about whether or not I need those. Also, I have Office 2001, so if I buy a new Office 2008 will be all the data that I have in Entourage, including contacts, emails, categories and calendar transfer safely to the Entourage again?

  • Why is Outlook for Mac 2011 by saying that I have to activate it if the rest of the suite is enabled

Hello! I have Office 2011 for Mac and Word, Excel and PowerPoint work very well. Outlook, however, says I need to activate the office... And I don't know why. This is a legal copy of office, so nobody knows why this is happening? • 2016 Outlook for Mac, send emails more fails

    Dear Sir or Madam,

With Outlook 2016 on my Macbook Pro, I'm not able to send more than about 10 MB of attachments. The program accepts multiple attachments of any size, but the transmission fails after trying for about 5 Min. I get an error message (sorry, my OS is installed with the German):

"Ein auf dem Server ausgefuhrter wurde abgebrochen procedure. Server der ist possibly hydraulic, die Serververbindung wurde abgebrochen, oder das Netzwerk ist ausgelastet. "(A process on the server has been abandoned. The server may be overloaded, maybe the connection to the server was interrupted or the network is overloaded).

Then "Senden der nicht possible Email." (Cannot send email.)

    Then: Fehlercode:-1001. (Error code - 1001).

I can receive emails with attachments of any size; with an old computer with Outlook, I can send attachments of any size using the same e-mail account; and the program of "Mail" Apple can send attachments of any size.

I use: Office 365 for Mac, Macbook Pro, El Capitan, Outlook 2016; e-mail account is POP3, T-Online.

Does anyone have an idea what is happening here? Does anyone know where the Outlook preferences are stored and how to check or change? I understand that it is possible to limit the size of the email in preferences, while the not to complain about the size, it can simply to send larger e-mails.

I am happy for any information you can give me.

  • Missed feature in Outlook for Mac - assign a task to a co-worker

    Hi all in the community.

Definition AND ALLOCATION of tasks (given) to a co-worker, since it is a standard in Outlook functionality when used in a Windows environment, is obviously unavailable in Office for Mac. Which is a huge shame as this feature is very useful for loads of work to do in teams...

M$ support says that this isn't in Office for Mac because Apple has refused to grant the necessary rights to their end to establish this use case.

Is it perhaps someone in the community who has already come up with a clever work around to get this function in place?

  • 2016 desktop for Mac

I just changed my old Mac of 8 years for a new version of 5K 27' and am very happy.

However, I now need to install Office for Mac on my new machine. I've used Office 2011 for Mac, which was ok, but I'm now thinking of 2016 Office for Mac but am unwise for 2 reasons: -.

    (1) I will abe able to work on my old documents that were written in the version of Office 2011?

    (2) I've seen some bad reviews on Office for Mac 2016 about compatibility and it blocks a lot?

This is why should I buy just an office 2011 for Mac package?

    Any advice would be welcome

    1 Yes

    2. If you have already bought Office 2011 just uninstall the old computer and install it using your product key on the new computer. Or use the free office for free https://www.libreoffice.org/

Welcome to the Community Forum of HP.

    I can offer the following:

Several solutions have been provided over time; Reinstall Office 2013 is among the suggestions; Depending on your file system, the revision of your printing software and the general State of the universe, this could be useful.

If a reinstallation of Office software works not - or not be attractive – then you can try using a different print driver for your printer.

Manage the print with preview output before printing
