programs that run on multiple users

Windows Vista Business like computer 2 users are able to run a program with the same settings.  How?

If installed by an administrator (and made available to all users, this option is made available by the programmers of this program) then it will happen - but it will be available for all users (unless you change the permissions on a per-user basis).  Each user will be able to adjust the parameters and the next user will start with these settings.  Remember that this will always be possible depending on the program - in some cases, it should be separtely installled for each user (in which case the parameters vary by user).  This information is usually not on the lid of the box of the program so it's something that you learn as you go through the process to see what options are available and what you want to choose among these options.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

The less you have to run all the time, most things you want to run will perform:

Use Autoruns to understand this all starts when your computer's / when you log in.  Look for whatever it is you do not know using Google (or ask here.)  You can hopefully figure out if there are things from when your computer does (or connect) you don't not need and then configure them (through their own built-in mechanisms is the preferred method) so they do not - start using your resources without reason.

You can download and use Process Explorer to see exactly what is taking your time processor/CPU and memory.  This can help you to identify applications that you might want to consider alternatives for and get rid of all together.

  • Allow a program to run in Standard user

    Hi all

I have a problem, as stated above.

I have currently the program has installed in an administrator account and I would like another user who is a Standard user in the computer to use the program without entering the administrator password to run the program.

    Is it possible?

Reinstall program to make it available to all users "work" but perhaps you only want certain users to be able to run the program.

You can use the command runas with the "savecred" option to create a shortcut to the program - you must enter the credentials of the administrator at least once for Windows to Save Credpickers and then you would set but there is a possibility of the user can understand it and then be able to run any program as administrator.

Here are some examples of how to implement that:

    http://www.howtogeek.com/124087/how-to-create-a-shortcut-that-lets-a-standard-user-run-an-application-as-administrator/

    https://www.maketecheasier.com/standard-users-run-program-Admin-rights/

You may reach the goal without "savecred" using a task scheduled to run the desired program:

    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/11949-elevated-program-shortcut-without-UAC-prompt-create.html

There are some third-party programs that you can use if you want to install (not tested):

    http://www.Sordum.org/8727/runastool-v1-0/

If you do a Google search on something like:

allow standard users to run as Administrator without password

You will get a lot of ideas but the sounds of the awkward set of ideas.

It looks like a some of them present a potential security risk if the user no Admin numbers how it's done.

  • Unknown to the programs that run in the background, slowing down the computer

System resources are always be taxed.  How to get to the screen that lists all the programs that start automatically at system boot?  How to identify unnecessary programs in startup list?  Once identified, how to eliminate these programs?

    Hello DcR3, levels,

How to get to the screen that lists all the programs that start automatically at system boot? How to identify unnecessary programs in startup list? Once identified, how to eliminate these programs?

I would say do not delete program files if you are unsure what it is.  You can do a search online of a file if you don't know exactly what it is.

    To view startup programs:

Right-click on the icon in the start menu. Select "Explorer" from the menu that appears
Find the 'Programs' folder in the pane on the left side of the dialog window. Click the plus sign "+" to expand the tree of folders
Click the "Startup" folder to view the programs that start up when your computer is turned on

Go to the start menu. In the menu list, click on 'run '.

Type "msconfig" without the quotes in the text bar. Click on 'OK '.

Click on the "Startup" tab in the dialog window of the System Configuration that is displayed.

Scroll down to see all of the programs and program files that start up when your computer is turned on.

    Hi camolentot,
For a programme of work, it must be started. Programs are started in three ways.
    1. the first is if actually start you yourself by throwing it
    2. the second way is for other programs start another program.
    3. the third way is a program be configured to start automatically when the operating system starts. The type of programs that start through the third way are what we call the Windows startup programs
The third type programs can be of the following types.
    * Some programs are needed for the operating system to operate correctly
    * Some programs, it is not necessary to run as it can be launched if necessary.
You can change the programs such as messengers or software that you think that it is not necessary to run at the beginning. But it's not good tweaking all train backup software or security data. Its better to take help among people with knowledge about this program before tweaking start-up businesses.
Tweaking unnecessary startups can speed up your PC. But tweaking bad programs\services can cause problems too.
  • program that runs in the background freezes mouse

There is a program in the background, and I can't do anything because it freezes my mouse all the time.  When I go to the control panel and attempt to "stop a program from running at startup", a window appears telling me to turn on Windows Defender. This stupid popup won't let me stop programs from running at startup.  Someone knows how to fix this?  Thank you!

    Hello

Put the computer to boot and see if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: follow step 7 to reset the computer to start as usual after the boot process.

Note: identify the program that is causing the problem by doing as from the above proposed link.

    Hope this information helps.
  • How to stop a program that runs as administrator

When you start a program that I use regularly, I clicked "run as administrator", how can I fix this so the program no longer works as an administrator?

I tried to go in the properties and uncheck "run as Administrator".

    Help, please!

The "Run as Administrator" option in the menu popup is used only once when you select.  It is not stored and permantently used for future time you use the program.

Just close the program, then click the icon to open it normally and it is no longer "will run as an administrator" unless tell you him again.

  • How to stop programs that run automatically at startup?

Hi I just wanted to know how to stop programs from running automatically at startup, I already ran msconfig and disabled programs that I don't want to run at startup and it always automatically start also on msconfig, it indicates the applications that I don't want to run at startup is disabled and it always runs at startup. The programs that I don't want to run at startup are tom tom home and bbc iplayer desktop, but he always runs at startup.

One other thing is when I install new programs, that they automatically run at startup without my permission.

Palcouk did preferred proposals. Another way to identify which loads when you start using Autoruns (freeware from Microsoft).
    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902

With Autoruns, you can deselect an item which disables startup, or you can click with the right button on an item, then remove it. If you clear the check box that you can check back for re - activate the element. It is an approach much safer than editing the registry and better than using msconfig.

A useful feature of the program is that you can click with the right button on an item and select search online to get information about the selected item.

  • How to use the script "click menu item" command on a menu item for an application that runs under another user?

    Hey everyone, quick question...

I am trying to run this script:

    say application "System events".

    say process of "iTunes."

click on menu item "Start Station" from the menu 'Song' to menu bar item 'Song' in the menu bar 1

    end say

    end say

The idea behind this is to start a song selected currently playing station. I know, it's not hard to do it manually, but I want to be able to do it without having to call the iTunes app to the front. Now, this script works for my own iTunes app, but I have a second instance of iTunes connecting the second user on my computer at home (User2), with its own separate library and account and all. script I have works fine for an instance of iTunes under my user account, but I can't figure out how to specify which instance of iTunes, I'd like the script to work on.

I want to emphasize as an FYI that i use.

    the shell script "connection f User2 /Applications/iTunes.app/Contents/MacOS/iTunes > & - 2 > & - &" with administrator privileges

-to open my second instance of iTunes as User2

is there a way to change the "process"iTunes"to say" something like 'process 'unix ID' say' and have the ID for each respective instance of iTunes unix?

Let me know if I do not make sense... Thanks in advance to anyone who can help

You can target a process of application using various properties of system events, for example:

    tell application "System Events"
tell first item of (get application processes whose unix id is 15174) -- or whatever id
activate --> needed when using GUI scripting
        get properties
      end tell
    end tell
