OfficeJet Pro 8000 duplex printing problem

I use this printer with my MacBook Air.  I have the duplex unit installed correctly in the printer.  The 'two-sided printing accessory (duplexer) HP is checked in the system preferences - Print & Scan - pilot.  That being said, I don't see an option for double-sided printing.  I go to the file menu and click on print.  I select Copies and Pages in the menu dropdown.  I think I should then see an option for double-sided printing.  The only options available are:

-Layout

-Color matching

-Paper handling

-Cover page

-Paper Type/quality

-Advance printing options

-Feeding levels

I did something wrong in the Setup program, or is the procedure I use wrong?  How can I get the operation of duplex function?

This is the only printer that I have, so there is no confusion here.

Thank you

Have you tried the layout in the menu drop down menu?

In the control panel or the application being used, open the dialog box Preferences of the hologram.

Change the printing on the both sides option return long edges.

If that is already selected change back on the short edge.

Other options to get rid of the vertical line?  Thank you.

    Hello

It sounds like a problem with the printer itself, because it is indeed a vertical GIS. A cartridge problem would cause a horizontal issue. You can tru is the cleaning of transport, stem from the metal bar that you see in the printer, and carefully clean the Strip transparant. This with a lot of attention that its rather delicate and if it breaks the device is ready for the trash.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600-duplex printing upside

Help! I finally got the two-sided print job, but second page is upside down.

    Hi Nana50

It seems that one of the parameters must be changed. Use the following link to adjust settings to print on both sides of the page without side being updated down. > Print on both sides of the paper (duplex printing)

I suspect that you currently have selected short edge binding, you will need to choose binging long edge.

If you want to see an example of both take a look at this video > 2 sides print Long Edge against short edge

I hope this helps. Please let me know if that fixes the problem, thanks.

I get this page a partial alignment (?) after each print job.  I reinstalled the software, aligned and cleaned print heads, contacts cleaned print head, but still get this page.  Pretty frustrating.

This image, I see that the printer does not align correctly.  If the unit is out of alignment, then the sensors in the printer detects it.  That's why the printer is constantly trying to perform the alignment.

Each print my printer spits out a blank sheet of paper, tries and fails to retrieve the next piece and then the release of the paper warning light lights up on the printer. I push the button and then it prints very well. Seen this boredom for a while and I can't seem to solve. Thank you! Windows 8. The printer did not do that during the initial installation.

    Hi rmalbo,

    Welcome to the HP Forums.

I see by your post that the printer will print a page, then a blank page, then it pull the next piece of paper in until you press the button. I can help you with that.

Looks like the paper source is set to manual because after pressing the button, it continues to print.

Try and print a self-test on the printer hardware to see if it is a hardware or software problem.

    Print a self-test Page.

Select the method: use the control panel to print a self-test page.

She just print the test page or send on another white page?

The error message didn't upward after printing the test page?

If it is the same thing printing self-test then follow the steps in this document, roller cleaning, resetting the printer.

The printer stop printing and the power and resume lights flash (paper jam).

If we print the self-test material then it's software related.

The application, go to file, print, preferences, Type of paper/quality.

Select the paper source from the drop-down list, select Auto Select.

Select the paper type from the drop-down list also.

    Click OK.

    Trying to print now.

I would like to know if you have the same problem.

    Good day.
    Thank you.

Does anyone know if there is a printer of this type which will respond to such control?

    UPDATE!

    ----------

This printer is now works very well with total control on duplex printing. But how did this happen...?

Two things have changed - well, maybe three.

But first of all to mention another very annoying problem: wireless printer to my network connection always collapsed which was a double nuisance (23/06/2016 see also installing the driver wireless Officejet 8000 Pro says default gateway is 0.0.0.0)

The road to happiness... I've finally updated my PC to a laptop HP Win7 (there is a problem with the laptop, but that's another story...)

During the process of setting up laptop, I had to set up the network and add the printer. In between aid was a FAQ something like "the wirless connection drops regularly." What interested me.

The fix was so simple - mychosen IP address has always been in the DNS range which was probably not very smart, but I didn't know any different. No one had ever mentioned before.

The idea is to select an address in the static range IE outside the DNS. So I took a number x.x.x.249 and bingo!, a solid and reliable connection that is always there.

Given the new laptop for download the drivers again. What went well and of course, the new machine is much faster.

Anyway after a few tries, much to my delight I discovered that two-sided printing worked with auto rotation if I check the box. Printing a document like that I would see in portrate (horizontal spine) and read down the two pages, turn to the next page and the same thing at the end of the document. Or, if you use the rotation of non - normal mode - the printing orientation is 'normal '.

It's a shame that it was necessary to buy a new laptop with a new o/s just to discover the problem by chance...

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8000 Wireless: Can I get some help here? Yellow ink will not print - HP OfficeJet Pro 8000 Wireless

No matter what I do, ink yellow does not print, or stops at halfway printing on the page. I use genuine HP cartridges. There is a lot of ink - in fact, I just installed a new cartridge in the case where a previous (almost complete) was defective. No change. The pipe is not pinched. I flashed the firmware more recent and installed all drivers and utilities updated. I have cleaned the print heads over and over again and even took and cleaned according to the instructions.

I think it was a sign that the printer is worn EXCEPT - just a few months ago, magenta and black stopped printing. These are the opposite printheads. When I uninstalled every bit of HP software I could find, the printer back to normal!

The only thing I did not - it is the HP Toolbox argues that it is impossible to establish two-way communication with the printer. The patches for this involve get under the desk to play with the power cord and USB cable (even if it is a wireless printer), and my arthritic knees that make a very delicate operation. Two-way communication IS enabled.

I'm about to start crying. I fought with this market a week, when the yellow all of a sudden went - once again, * most * of the time, but sometimes it prints to maybe an inch of the image before disappearing. Help!

  • HP Officejet Pro 8000 - guard alignment page printing

I took the printhead of the printer then whipped cream, the part where the ink comes out with a most paper towle. After that I put the print head in the printer prints a print alignment page. Ok. Now, every time I have print whatever it is that the printer will be after the print job is printing another page of alignment. Is there a way to stop? Thanks for your help.

    Hello TheDeerSlayer,

When you clean the print heads, you should try to not clean the part where ink is coming out of it (nozzles). It is very easy to damage them and if it happened, most likely the only way to solve the problem is to replace the print head. There are two things, you might try to see if you can get the print head working properly again: first thing is to clean the sensor that checks the nozzles. It is located on the right side of the printer at the bottom of the area in which the cart moves, it looks like a strip of metal which is only visible when the transport is located on the side more to the right of the printer. Be sure to use a cloth moistened with cold water. What you might try if this does not solve the problem and the nozzles are just clogged with ink and not really damaged, is to heat water (almost boiling point) and then soak the part of the printhead whith the nozzles in the water for some time. Let the printhead to dry and then install again and see if it works now.

This picture is of you can location of the sensor that checks the print head nozzles. The image is not so great and is an another printer, but it is located in the same place on Officejet Pro 8000.

  • Several problems: OfficeJet Pro 8000 Wireless

We bought a HP OfficeJet Pro Wireless for our two Macs and it has been a nightmare. I searched the forums and help guides and hope you can help me solve problems.

It takes 10 minutes to start the printer each time. There are many ringing and noises.

Once it's finally, finally upon it still cannot print. I then usually to reinstall the software from the CD using the USB cable and not wireless for its work, which it will then be exactly once before that I then need to use the printer, turn it on and it will not print.

I tried all the configurations that I can think of nothing doesn't.

Currently, I just turned on and I have a message saying the printer is low on ink and I can't print. I have used this printer exactly 5 times, and there is no way that it is out of ink.

I apologize if I look petulant, I have simply never had these problems with any material and am worried that we have made a very bad investment. I'd appreciate someone really can give advice.

I understand your frustration.  Here are some tips:

    1. do not turn off your printer.  If you MUST activate it offshore, it is with a power strip or unplugging the power cord.  Your printer will use ink (and a little of it) to start each time you put it on.  This is particularly true if the printer do not have power during his time off the power.  You will bleed your dry ink cartridges very quickly this way.  All the rumbling you hear is the sound of suck ink through the nozzles to clean them.

    2. set a static IP address for your printer.  Choose a number outside the range 192.168.1.64 to 192.168.1.237 than your HomeHub uses to deliver dynamic IP addresses.  192.168.1.50 is a nice round number.  Here's how:

-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-Click on the manual button IP and enter:
    for the IP address 192.168.1.50
    255.255.255.0 for the subnet
Let the gateway and DNS white
    -Click 'apply '.

Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

Remove and re-add the printer in the print queue:

    -Sys Prefs, Print & Fax
-Select the printer in question and click the sign less down the list
-Select the sign + to add again. Search for the printer, select it, and wait until the button 'Add' becomes available. Until it clicks.

If this does not work, do the same thing, only instead of the second stage, right (control), click the box of the print queue and select Reset Printing System.

  • OfficeJet pro 8000: Officejet pro 8000 prints the part of the document

Have a problem with both networking Officejet pro 8000's. If you print a paginated document 4, printing two pages and stops, then 2 minutes he feeds a white sheet of paper in the printer, the printer hangs then error light on, who need to power cycle to restart. The network is in a school, unused printers for a few weeks, before now, they both work as it should.

This problem is with a laptop with free Wi - Fi. However, even 4-page document sent to another that officejet pro 8000 prints as it should, and prints as it should when sent to a photocopier.

The network of small schools there are ten computers wired to office, after trying to print from one of them, the same problem occurs with 2 of 4 pages printing, then a white sheet, then the printer hangs. This desktop computer will also print the same document on the photocopier without problem.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless: Unable to print labels on my HP Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless color inkjet printer

    Hello Forum,

I don't want to appear redundant, however, I always have the same problem, cannot print on different media (for example. Labels, Matt / glossy papers, etc.) other than plain white paper. As I said in my original post (below), I tried different settings, different programs, etc., without any result. The printer does that pass through without printing media, leaving the error / blinking yellow light.

I believe that this printer is able to manage different media other than paper white just to 'stick '. Again, I ask your help to solve this problem. It is and has been, very frustrating trying to overcome this restriction of printing!

    Thank you all!

    (Original post)

I can't get my HP Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless inkjet color printer to print CD / DVD labels. I have tried various printer / paper options but the printer just feeds the media (in this case 'Fellows' brand matte CD 2-top) then spits it right back with result error amber light flashing.

Printing has a sensor that determines if the paper is loaded and feeding properly into the printer.  If you print on media that is colored or printed features we can confuse the sensor.

One thing to try - cut a strip of the sticky part of a post-it note maybe 1 "wide by 1/4".  Attach it to the top left of the sheet of labels on the side to be printed, the long side on the short side of the paper.  This will then put face down into the printer, with the band on the upper right of the tray paper.  After printing, you can remove it and reuse it for the next page.
