"Officejet Pro 8600' vs"Officejet Pro 8600 N911n"

When you set up several programs or applications, I am presented with a list of available printers found. I have attached to my router as a network printer, a printer, a premium of Officejet Pro 8600, but still these two entries in the list: 'Officejet Pro 8600' and 'Officejet Pro 8600 N911n. In addition, the printer web interface shows "HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911n"

It is in the browser Chrome on PC you see two printers? This means that one of them if the printer is installed on the PC and the other is the google cloud printer (which corresponds to the printer even physically). The difference is, if you select the printer of cloud, it will be probably slower (jobs sent to google cloud and then back down to the printer).

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911n - documents scanned by omitting

I have problems scanning to an email from our HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911n.  I use Windows 8, but I was able to reproduce the error on a Windows 7-based computer and a Windows XP computer.  When I scan a single page to the e-mail I can send it successfully and all recipients are able to successfully open the attachment. But if I scan several pages, recipients, including myself, are unable to get the PDF to open it.  This is the error message I get:

We have 5 profiles set up in the scanner and it seems I'm the only one with questions.  So far, I updated scanning engine, updating my Adobe Reader software and deleted and recreated my profile for scanning to e-mail.

    All advice is appreciated.

    Hi hratti,

As I read your description, I belive that you are using the analysis of e-mail service that does not involve the computer.  The printer can send the scans as email directly via an e-mail provider.

You use a different email provider as other profiles?  You could try to set up a gmail account and enter the new gmail email address in your profile.

  • The printer Officejet Pro Premium N911n 8600 performs the selection automatic tray?

I have a printer Officejet Pro N911n, CN577A Pemium 8600 to two trays. My operating system is Win8, 64-bit, there is no error message, no change in System.

The HP Officejet Pro 8600 e - all-in-One series User Guide indicates that by default, support for prints of printer from the Tray1 Tray1.If is empty, the printer draws media from the bac2 (if it is installed and loaded with media. I have tray lock disabled, Tay1 default tray and automatic selection of the active status bar. Before these selections, I contacted HP email support to report this option did not work. I received a response that there is no method that automatically selects a tray when a drawer is empty. Manual States the user otherwise... This option may not work, but it is part of this series of printers. I have the two charged plates and I will determine if it works after that Tray 1 is empty. Does anyone have one of these printers and auto function set work? Thank you.

  • Re: HP officejet pro 8600 N911n, scan to E-mail: server failure.

Have had this printer for a couple of years and scan to send an email worked perfectly with Gmail accounts until a few weeks before, then just stopped.

I tried multiple e-mail accounts with their appropriate smtp servers inculding gmail, yahoo, outlook and 2 areas of private messaging. I confirmed that smtp servers and settings I have for each of the accounts is correct by settign accounts to send email thunderbird and all send with smtp servers, so this is definitely a problem for which something has changed with the printer as it used to work great. The printer is currently running firmware CKP5CN1545AR that she claims is ongoing.

Please indicate how to solve this problem I used for scanning to e-mail several times a week

    Thank you

Hello @kkron, hope you are well!

Welcome to the HP Forum! It is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get help and advice.

I understand that you are having problems when using e-mail scanning function. I would like to help.
We will first try to assign a manual DNS server that seems to do the trick, most of the time. Follow the steps below:

    • First of all, make sure that the printer firmware is up-to-date. If you are unsure, go to http://hp.care/2e12HCp and install the firmware.
    • Get the IP address of the printer, you can touch the 'Wireless' icon on the Control Panel printer to get the IP address.
    • Type the IP address in your web browser to get the EWS page on your computer printer.
    • Go to the 'Network' tab - click on "wireless (802.11), and then click «network address (IPv4)»»
    • Click on the box that says "Manual IP", then click "Propose an IP address manually" to give an IP address manually to your printer.
    • Click on the radio button that says 'Manual of the DNS server' and under manual type favorite 8.8.8.8 and manual replacement enter 8.8.4.4 (it is Google's DNS server address)

Now try to scan to e-mail / web services. If the problem persists, please go through http://hp.care/2e0ZCCy and make sure that all settings are correct. If necessary, try to create a new account by following the instructions.

Let me know if that solves the problem, or if you need assistance

  • Re: Officejet Pro 8600 N911g new firmware will not be installed.

I have OfficeJet Pro 8600 N911n, Firmware version: CKP5CN1334ER and having problem with print jiberish characters on top and bottom of pages on each page. I tried to update Firmware on the HP website. CLP1CN1322CR I got the same error message. The PC is 'Not Applicable' on the Web similar to that shown above and unity iteslf he keep control of updates forever and never finished.

Printer was fine until a last week, he began to print chracters crazy at the top of each page not only PC printing, even from copy, or internal reports the same result.

What is happening on the HP?

    Hey there again!

Could you try a reset of the power and make sure that the printer is plugged directly into the wall, avoiding bars power and surge protectors. This ensures that the printer is full on and can help to solve this problem on its own.

Press the power button to turn the product on.
With the product, unplug the power cord from the back of the product.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the back of the product.
If the product does not light by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.

Make a copy or two and let me know if you still see characters garbeled on copies?

Also tell me if you are still in warranty.

    Have a great day!

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 only N911n part superior print first page of some applications

Unfortunately, I spent much more time that this printer is worth trying to run so I am with regard to the experts.

I have a HP Officejet Pro N911n of 8600 installed as a shared printer on the Standard Win2008R2, trying to run on a box of Win7 Pro. Initially, it would only print characters scrambled on the top line and will be continually. I searched through the advice and have not found a solution that will help. I have reset printer back to the default settings, settings reconfigured network and he has been able to print from some points, but not the others. example: works of Adobe Reader, but not from Outlook 2010.

I tried all the options Proccesor and several other drivers including Universal, I connected TCP/IP directly from Win7, tried XP.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you

I noticed that you have tried things and different drivers. A suggestion, I would add would try all software uninstall and reinstallation.

Another driver, you can try to download to help would be a pilot 990c
    1. click on Start Menu
    2. click on devices and printers
    3. Add a printer
    4. Add a LOCAL printer
    5. choose the port existing (the port that the printer is connected too)
    6. choose (HP), right column, click HP DeskJet 990c, if it is not listed, update windows CLICKL, then try to find him after it updates.

Let me know if this can help, thank you.

  • Impossible to reset or add new addresses of e-mail on N911n e-all-in-one HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium

Because I am unable to get my printer to retain new email addresses after you add the 1st time, I tried to restart the reboot of the machine to factory default. I went through the process of 'reset' the printer by unplugging / plugging the power supply cable (according to instructions). It erases all settings, to be network id for the computer, e-mail addresses, or other settings.

How can I clear the address book of e-mail on the device so I can add new addresses? That or how can I get to keep new addresses? I don't have that an address book (address of my server)

Just to let you know, our printers are covered for one year with the manufacturer's warranty, and as long as you are within this year you have the warranty support with your product (some limitations still apply).

Follow the instructions on page 54-55 in the operating instructions that register here: http://goo.gl/AVkES.

You may need to remove entries first, just to get a fresh start to her.

Let me know if it helps!
