old iPhone connect to iTunes

I have an iPhone 3 g. It has been sitting in a drawer for years. One of my kids wants to use it. I plug in power and he says I need to connect it to iTunes. I connect to my Mac, and it does nothing. iTunes not shown, and by clicking on the home button to show the Apple logo as it happens when I connect it to the power. The Mac is an iMac 27 "5K retina end of 2014, El Capitan, 10.11.3 running. Is this a dead phone? I can't do anything with it?

Just before this announcement, I saw an Apple logo appears on the phone. I thought: oh wow, I don't have need to finish this. Then he disappeared after about 10 seconds. Did not connect it to iTunes as it does when it is connected to power, just stop. I'll leave it plugged in for a few hours and see if anything changes.

Thank you.

In the old 3GS battery may be dead.  Load using a power adapter for 2 hours, then try to restore with recovery mode, as described here:

Most likely, what you found, is that the iTunes version is the latest available for your operating system.

The latest version of iTunes is 12.4.3.  This version requires at least OS X 10.8.5 or later version, or Windows 7 or later version.

If your iTunes version is earlier than 12.4.3, it will probably not recognize your 6s performance iPhone iOS 9.

If you do not have the required operating system, get first.  Then download from iTunes

  • 6 iPhone connect to iTunes

I have a fairly new iPhone 6 which doesn't connect to iTunes when plugged into my Macbook. The pop-up message says this iphone requires a version update of iTunes and then she ordered me to go to itunes.com to download the update. The problem is that I've already updated! The IOS on my phone is up to date, itunes is up to date and my OS indicates no new software updates. The macbook is running 10.6.8 and my old iphone 6 and connects to iTunes fine. What happens here? Any ideas?

The update is not just for iTunes. It is not possible to sync an iPhone on a Mac 10.6.8.

Sync with iTunes on a Mac or a PC requires:

    • Mac OS X v10.8.5 or later

Instead of trying to install v10.8.5, see if your Mac can run the latest available OS X El Capitan v10.11 > update of OS X El Capitan - Apple Support

You would then have the latest version of iTunes installed in order to connect your iPhone to iTunes.

I just bought the iPhone 7 and I tried to connect to iTunes to restore my backup, but the error message "the iPhone is useless because it requires a newer version of iTunes" keep showing up, even though I've already updated my iTunes to the latest version available. Is there something I can do to fix this?

"The last available version" do you mean iTunes 12.5.1.21? If this isn't the case, you are running Windows XP or Vista?

  • 6 s not iPhone connect to itunes/PC

I had an iphone 6s + since February and recently went to connect it to itunes to backup and transfer music to phone, but when I plug it, the phone and the PC makes a sound, itunes opens, but the phone does not appear in itunes. The dialog box on the phone displays the box Trust/no trust, I press trust, and nothing happens. The phone also does not appear in the Explorer. The phone displays as "load."

I tried all the settings in the phone, as well as the PC (deleted some folder in itunes that says try another article), it does not work, see the folder also again after the reboot. I am at a loss, like doing a factory reset is a little off question having saved not the phone again.

Anyone here have other options or information, seen this problem? Any guidance would be of great help. Thank you!

    1. Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes that supports your system.
    2. Check that you have the latest version of the software on your Mac or your Windows PC.
    3. Make sure that your device is turned on.
    4. If you see a trust this computer alert, unlock your device and press trust. If the warning continues to appear, you may need to reset your lockdown folder.
    5. Unplug all accessories USB from your computer except for your device. Try every USB port to see if it works. Then try another USB Apple cable.
    6. Restart your computer and your iPhone, iPad or iPod.

  • 6 iPhone cannot connect to Itunes. Applications latest Itunes which is already installed

I have an Iphone 6 Ios 9.2.1 (last updated) bought last December, and I'm trying to connect it to Itunes on my Imac. ITunes is the latest version 11.4.

When I connect my Iphone to my computer, I get an error message saying that I can not connect my Iphone because my Iphone requires the latest version of Itunes to install. But I have the latest version, then how do I connect to Itunes on my computer to sync my stuff?

I got Iphones for awhile now and I never had this problem with any of them. For a phone that is worth a lot of money I find these defects or bugs quite disturbing.

Can someone help me how to get my Iphone connected to Itunes?

    Hi Eliza,

11.4 is perhaps the latest version of iTunes available for the level of OS X that you run on your Mac, but the devices running iOS 9 require iTunes 12.2 or later to synchronize.

You need to update your Mac OS X at a current level in order to download the latest version of iTunes available.

    Sorry

  • new iPhone7 cannot connect to iTunes: New Version necessary. I have the latest version

Hello. I have Windows Vista on my PC. Just got my new iPhone7. I'm upgrading from 6. I can't restore the new phone to my iTunes on my PC backup because I get an error message: "iphone cannot be used because it requires a newer version of itunes. go to itunes.com... "iTunes offers only version 12.1.3 for windows vista and I downloaded it. I have no idea how to solve this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The download site offers only iTunes 12.1.3 because it was the last version to support Vista. He is one year old and can not support an iPhone SE or apparently the new iPhone 7. Here's another recent thread: 7 Iphone connect to iTunes on the computer. You can fix this by moving to a new version of Windows or Mac that can run iTunes 12.5.1.

  • When you attempt to change my ID apple on an old iphone, it sends a code to an email address that I no longer have access

When you try to restore my old iPhone 4S via itunes, it forces me to remove 'Find my iPhone' phone.  That I can't because the iPhone has my old AppleID.  I can't change the AppleID to the new one I use on my iPad since to do so, following the instructions from Apple, it sends a code to my old e-mail address AppleID to which I do not have access.  Is there a solution?

If you have the old ID password you can change the code here

  • Why my iphone is required to connect to itunes after updating wireless.

Why my iphone is required to connect to itunes after updating wireless?

    I don't have itunes and won't.

Is there anyway around of this or take it back to the old ios?

More than the upgrade of the air seems to have issues, whether all connect at the same time or other problems. I had to plug my phone into the computer, update itunes to the latest, published today, then ios upgrade 10.0.1 and it is fine now. You could bring to the apple store and probably use their computers, just don't tell the computer to trust the phone.

  • My old iphone 6s is completely broken, it does not or registry that it is connected when plugged into a computer. I'm able to recover photos from the SIM card with an adapter USB SIM card or through any other way?

My old iphone 6s is completely broken, it does not or registry that it is connected when plugged into a computer. I'm able to recover photos from the SIM card with an adapter USB SIM card or through any other way? I also do not save anything with AllAccess, icloud, or through my computer as you would with a digital camera.

The photos are not stored on the sims, sorry.

You can always try the Recovery Mode, little to lose at this point. If it doesn't, I suggest taking it to an Apple Store for testing.

    Recovery mode:

    Turn off your iOS device.

Plug charge cable to the computer only (not to the device yet).

    Open iTunes on your computer.

Hold the button to power on your device and do not let go.

Plug the cable into the device while keeping the power button.

Wait for the computer to detect the device and wait that he eat.

Restore as New first, then restore sauvegardΘ if you wish.
