  My apologies for my ignorance full here, but I'm creating an application, because for the first time and also learn InDesign as I go. I have a few questions I was hoping that someone might be able to help/clarify for me because I can't seem to find answers in the forums or YouTube videos! Once again, my apologies if this are relatively basic questions for you the highest designers out there! Enjoy your time and your help!

  1. I want to create a bar drop-down menu located at the bottom of each page of the document. I would like that these are images which are then a hyperlink to other locations in the document. I know I can create a scrolling slide show, but can images in this slide show become buttons to other locations in the document? If so, can you please tell me a few directions step by step on how do?

  2. I want to be able to read a page of scrolling down and then maybe finish a story by dragging horizontally. I guess that you this with face of pages, is that correct?  I know that you can alternate layouts, and it of great, but is it possible to read something down and through? If so, can you point me to a guide that shows me how?

  3. due to this problem of hyperlink, I create all sections of my story in a single document, rather than individual because I assume you can't hyperlink between InDesign documents. Is this correct?

  4. is there a way to create a "Contact me" page in InDesign that allows people to send me an e-mail if they want more information etc. ?

  1. Yes, just use the navto: command with the keys.

  2 no... NEVER use a facing for a DPS document pages. What you are

  describe cannot be done in an article unless you are using a very large

  image scrolling.

  3. very bad idea. Use the separate InDesign documents and navto:

  commands to get to them.

  4. it should be done with all the HTML or you can just use a

  mailto: hypelink.

  My conclusion here is that you have not done nearly enough research. The

  first thing to do is to download app DPS Bob Bringhurst tips from the app

  store and go through that.

• Professional, Adobe DPS, wait, wait...

  I subscribe to Adobe CC and I want to turn the seasonal magazine I design for the company, I work in a subscription available on Apple booth newspapers.

  I am applying to be an Apple Developer, this process is at a standstill. I got number D.U.N.S but when I enter in tells me that it is not verified. I think I have to wait 14 days after receiving the number to check, is this correct?

  Next, I would like to make arrangements to obtain a license to produce a folio of several page which will allow for in-app purchases and subscriptions but it here I'm getting stuck. I went to the adobe Web site and clicked on the part 'buy' Adobe DPS and led to a form. I filled this days and I'm still waiting for something (not sure what) happen.

  I have an adobe ID of course and have all other software and installed updates.

  My question is:

  I am doing this correctly, in the right order or am I missing something? I want to start on the creation of a folio of the items as soon as possible.

  Our service provider to publish apps iPad (Booth) will end cooperation with our company.

  They also told us, all current eMags inside App Store and newsstand, which have been published by them, will be deleted, if anyone adopt their DPS from Adobe (Adobe DPS Professional) license before expiry.

  So my Question is : is it true - after the end of their license, the eMags will be all offline?... And is it possible to transfer all eMags service provider to another DPS Adobe account?  What are the options? So what can we do to let the current eMags on the Store?

  I am new Member of this community. Thank you in advance for anything that can take a look at the following questions.

  I am writing on the side of the advertising agency. One of our customers use Adobe DPS, and our agency will soon be promoting app of the customer for monthly subscriptions by car.

  First question:

  Once a mobile user is trained to download the app after click, is it possible to attach subscriptions to the source of the announcement by 3rd - party monitoring implementation? I'm assuming that the answer is no, but I would just check a second time for reassurance.

  Second question:

  Once a user has accessed this digital content through the app, is it possible for the customer to enter any visibility engagments occurring within the app?

  The second part to this question: If these measures of engagement are available for the customer using Adobe DPS, can custom measurements? -I'd be able to track how many page views every single user is connected?   Here are answers to your questions:

  (1) the first question: the answer is as you would expect, 'no '.

  (2) second question: once the user has downloaded/installed the app, then you can access the reports of analytical basis for the report database. You can also access Sitecatalyst that provides the most followed more deep. If you're allowing users directly via direct entitltment; So yes you can follow more detailed on each user behavior.

• Animation of the Adobe &amp; DPS application issues

  Recently, I downloaded the Adobe & DPS application on the app store.  It is mainly a showcase and an informative publication about how the Magazine industry has embraced and incorporated DPS in their creative process.

  I like the effect of the background of the image sharing two screens, so when the user goes to the next page, the central image continuously and moves left.  I managed to reproduce this effect.  My question is however on the animation.

  In the interest of those who have the ipad app, I refer to Page 19 of the production, in front, page directed 18 as Adobe Digital Publishing Suite, for those who do not have the advantage, mainly the central image of 'focus' scrolls to the left like the user enters the page.  There is a delay and then 3 bars of color, red, yellow and blue fly from the background of the central image to the right of the screen.  Text is missing in a downward movement.  Another shot at the next page maintains the continuity of the design of the arrows and melted bars in addition to text after a slight delay.

  I am interested in the technical aspects of this effect.

  In the workflow of InDesign, I'm uncomfortable with the scrolling of the image back picture, but what I can't understand is the following...

  1) are the screen filled in Adobe After effects or Adobe Photoshop animation then exported in the form of sequences of images or videos to load page?  No doubt there is an image of the poster, a delay that triggers the auto start animation then ending on an image rendered ending sequence.

  2) are compliant screens in InDesign, but the images of movement occurs in Adobe Edge to keep the size of the small file (transparent overlays like HTML5).  If so how do write you movie elements to match the background of the image?  Is superimposed on the bottom or each section independently positioned 2048 step?

  I can't post a screenshot, as I don't want to violate copyright, my initial view is that option 1 is easier since the design is contained in this application, but larger files. Option 2 is interesting, smaller file size, lighter app, but I'm not clear integration between ID and edge as the practice of positioning and visualization, because both apps do not visually bind each other.

  I would be grateful on the reflections on the best approaches for this purpose.

  Can someone explain the process to update an application that has been recreated using Adobe DPS? I created an application Mag using the woodwing product and recently rebuilt using the Adobe DPS.

  I am ready to publish and activate the new app but I'm curious to know what this means for people who have already downloaded the app of the generation previous (woodwing). Is it just an update happens automatically, or do I invited original users with instruction on the new application.

• Publish two different clients with the same ID Adobe DPS publications

  I have a publication about InDesign and I downloaded the Adobe server with my Adobe DPS account. For the first publication, I published the publication with the producer of Folio on the portal digitalpublishing, and then I created the application using the Adobe viewer generator. Then I tried locally on my iPad. It was working fine and I could see my publication.

  Now, I need to download a new publication for another customer with the same Adobe DPS account and I need to create a different application with the new client look and feel, but I don't want to show this new application, only the last was first published.

  In a nushell, I need to keep separate two publications (or more) when they are published if I use the same account of DPS... Is this possible?

  Each title should have its own publication AdobeID (a title may contain several editions / folios).

  The question for each title, you want to work on an account supplied with Adobe. Make sure that you have configured the corresponding emailaddress / emailalias. For example [email protected] and [email protected]

  Once the accounts have been implemented, you can:

  * Download and organize several folios for this publication in the corresponding Folio producer

  * Create a visualizer with your Builder Viewer and on the first page provide the AdobeID for publication to give

  You can ask new accounts of publication any time, and these are included in your subscription DPS.

  During your first obtained account Provisioning, you should have received an excel document to ask the commissioning for various publications. In this document, you can list the accounts you want to use for publications, individual users of the generator system and Viewer access.

• A few newbie questions

  Ok, I am a fanboy of Adobe, Photoshop/Illustrator ACE but I'm a video / graphic guy My employer is about 'apps' that they average / envy = applications that run on all smartphones modern and major players in the Tablet world. I had a divorce with writing code about 4 years ago (we all have two happy summer separated from eachother) but it feels like I will be together soon.

  Looking for some quick info to get used to the speed (note that I Master Collection CS5.5):

  1. Type of code: Action Script 3 ? HTML? Or lazy build in Flash?
  2. We would start Flash or Flex SDK?
  3. Currently, they want to read on an iPad... then tomorrow a Playbook... but always on an iPhone and EVO... is it something to be considered early in the process?

  I realize, these are newbie questions VERY and it's a long way to follow, thank you for contributing to the trip!

  Hi Nick,

  I think it depends on type of content/content/deployment.

  If it's only video content to be played in standalone or web apps that look like native and support wide range of devices - then your suite already comes with Dreamweaver 5.5 - who has for example jQuery Mobile for web based application development/deployment and PhoneGab for native-app - all code development with html/javascript and two of them takes charge of video content.

  With Flash CS5.5 you get timeline based development and authoring tools - but nothing in the simplified UI that comes with the spark in Flash Builder (Flex SDK). Outputs the CS5.5 Flash and Flash Builder 4.5 using the same development tools Adobe Air (more to read on the page of software development given).

  Oh: web development with Dreamweaver and jQM does not require App Store submission process required otherwise for the content generated with Flash CS/Flash Builder or with PhoneGap in DreamWeaver.

• Newbie question - passing variables (aka why this work?)

  I spent a few hours in vain trying to pass the value of a html text box to a coldfusion page 2nd via the URL (query string).

  However, it seems that I can't do this because the 2nd page seems to be able to reference the value in box of text in any case.  My question is: is this a coincidence, or is this the normal procedure, things work?  When I click the "Run report" button, everything I typed in the text box appears on the screen of page2.cfm.  I thought I should pass this value somehow (via the variables session or the URL string or something).

  So my newbie question is: is this the way it should work (a simple answer Yes or no is fine)?  A text from one box. CFM file can reference the value of text box on the other. CFM page? Thanks in advance

I read on the differences of software between BIS and BES and would go for a set - up BIS. My dumb newbie question is equipment arrives in version BES or BIS or not?

  The thing of the cripping: the thing is, the updates are provided only by the suppliers (they get a barebone RIM OS, then add their stuff like facebook or AOL). Even if you buy a single "BOLD" without a contract, if you want to upgrade the regular way, you wait fot your carrier to publish the upgrade. Or you can do the regularly (which can be made with or without the purchase contract at the same time).

  (1) do I still need to install the desktop software?  Given that I can transfer files via Bluetooth from my laptop and my contacts/calendar/notes are stored on the Exchange Server, is there any point?

  (2) if I do not need to install it, given that my email is already working with BES, and the Office installation configures email settings, how do I keep the new Desktop install to mess up the current configuration of e-mail?

  Of all the notes of support on the software, looks like more trouble whereas at this stage.  I really need to treat it?

  There is not much need of DTM, but it is convenient to update the OS of your BB. Sometimes there will be releases of minor bugs corrections and such to your BB - DTM will be meaningless and install them, while updating wireless could not detect them. For a major OS update, you want DTM, as it will do a backup/complete restoration of your BB, including configuration settings, and others so that you don't have to redo those. But, to your e-mail, calendar, contacts, etc. - you are right, it is useless given that your Exchange Server is actually your master with your BB being actually a backup of that (in a sense).

  In addition, USB drivers (which are part of the package DTM) are necessary in order to charge your BB via your laptop USB. You can download and install all the USB drivers if this is the only part of the DTM you want.

  When you install it, it will ask if you are in a company - say Yes and it will install properly. Installation when your PC is connected to your corporate network and your Outlook is open. Who will get the best and fastest configuration. When you install, do not let it select the functions of auto-launch... If you wish, attach your BB and manually run the DTM.

  Basically, on the whole, I vote 'YES'. You get the USB charging. You can save if you wish. You get the device OS and other updates. Most of the reported problems are people using it to synchronize via USB things - you won't do that because most of your stuff will be syncing via BES OTA. Other things, you can simply drag-and - drop (music, videos, etc.). .. .follow these instructions (use the latest 5.0 DTM):

  I just bought two s BlackBerry Curve 8530 from Sprint. I'm pretty tech savvy, but there are some things about this phone, I can just enter in two or three days I got em:

  Deleting photos: Well, then I'm in my media folder, in the images. I selects a photo and press the BlackBerry button and select Delete. Then he said: it is read-only, and when I remove it, the icon is still there. I tried to turn on/off the device, and it's still there. Thought this one myself. I plugged it up to the Desktop Manager and all of a sudden all the photos I had taken appeared. I was also able to delete using the "BlackBerry" button and then "delete". It doesn't give me that read this option.

  Saving images: So, for some reason I can't save more photos. I don't know even how I saved the first 12 photos I have taken... but now it won't save any more. What the hell happened? xD I have a 2GB card in my phone... surely these 12 images didn't fill in this card... Thought this one myself. I plugged it up to the Desktop Manager and all of a sudden all the photos I had taken appeared.

  Buy ringtones: On my old phone LG, I used to buy ringtones RealTone Jukebox... where they had extracted from songs that I could download for a crazyhigh. Where can I buy the real music ringtones for BlackBerry? What I do myself?

But I want to get to the place where the keyboard auto-lock after a certain period of time. Is this possible? I saw somewhere about pressing the button mute will lock it... who is the top/center of the unit button?

  Auto keyguard: I have EPIC hand-dial to people purse. In my view, it has a keyboard lock button in the dashboard of BlackBerry (that is the correct term for this?) But I want to get to the place where the keyboard auto-lock after a certain period of time. Is this possible? I saw somewhere about pressing the button mute will lock it... who is the top/center of the unit button?

He got the BlackBerry logo on it... is what he called the BlackBerry button? I know, I know, I'm retarded and could probably flip through the manual to figure it out... but still.   Choose the icons to display on the main screen: When I added an e-mail address, he put an icon on my main desktop, in the row of icons at the bottom of the screen. (where is my background image and all that). Can we choose the icons that we want to display on the main screen? I have really now, my calendar icon that I know that I use. I'd love to move the keyboard lock button here though... is it possible?

  If you select an icon, click the menu button and choose move. You can rearrange the icons. The icons in the top 5 on the list will be those along the boittom when not looking at the full home screen.

  Speaker?: How can I get speaker? xD

  Can try to hit the key ' $' as a shortcut to activate speaker. During a call, you can click the menu button and choose the speaker phone option in the menu

  Theme Studio (software, no associated device): Anyone used this? It is quite easy to use? I am tech savvy, but I don't want to just download a ton of programs on my PC that I won't use xD I'm working on the Desktop Manager and it takes forever. I want to make themes, but I'm curious to know how easy to use this program is... graduate to use design or if it would take a graph xD

• Why browse cards, banners and pages don't are not scaling in android - Adobe DPS 2015?

  We are experiencing some problems with an Android app, built from Adobe DPS 2015 project.  The application displays beautifully on the iPad, but not so much on android. Note that the droid app is tested via a custom app .apk file

  1. the banner at the top of the page, we have created is not updated with scaling on android. See photos of comparison for iPad vs. Android. What can be done to remedy this?

  

  2. the articles are scaling very well in android, but the navigation pages and maps are not welcoming to the android the bottom navigation bar. They pared down type and you cannot scroll through a more far to see.  Apart from the re-design of cards to move any upward, is it possible to fix?  See photos of comparison for iPad vs. Android. .

  

  What I've noticed, it's only on iOS, cards for 'full picture' default, even if you have not explicitly chosen "full image", but on Android, they don't use 'full picture' until actually go you and select the map editor.

  

  Until I click on the enlarged Image, everything on Android looks like your screenshot.  Try to check "Full Image" is actually selected.  I'll bet that $0.01 it is not set to one.
