This is probably caused by your background color of your screen.  You can confirm this by:

If you have a Web page on your screen, then you will need set the color manually by:

    (1) right click on your desktop and select "Properties".
    (2) this should bring up your "Display properties" dialog box  (You can also get it by going to your control panel and double-clicking on 'Display'.)
    3) click on the tab "Office".
    (4) on the bottom right of the dialog box, there is a 'Color' option and below which shows the colors of the office - this must match what you see on the screen.
    (5) simply change the color to whatever color you want and then click on the 'OK' button to close the "display properties".

If you do not have any web content on your desktop, you can set the transparent icon labels by:

    (1) right-click on 'My Computer' then click 'properties '.
    2) click on the "Advanced" tab
    (3) in the 'Performance' section, click on the button "settings".
    (4) make sure that "shadows fall to use the desktop icon labels" is checked
    5) click on the 'OK' button to get out of the "Performance Options".
"6) click on the 'OK' button to get out of" System Properties "
    (7) right click on desktop
    (8) mouse on "arrange icons by".
    (9) be sure that "Lock Web items on desktop" is unchecked.  (If it is, just click once.)

  • Now is 2013 and I would like to know if anyone has yet found an answer to microscopic mail and text under the icons on the toolbar.

Question is quite simple.  Is there a fix for the problem of the timy text or is it not?  I'm old and tired and cranky and having practically lick the screen to read the mail is not an option.

    Hello Marilyn,.

    1. what e-mail client is installed on the computer?

    2. what browser do you use to visit Web sites?

  • Insertion of text under the photos in the photo book project.

Photo book, I created and I try to insert text under pictures and can not do. It seems that the only way to make the text is to choose the layout with text, but it is not positioned where I want. For example, it is not possible to place 4 photos on the page with the text under each photo?

No, there is no way to add additional text boxes. You must find a theme that has a desired layout.

You can send a feature request to Apple for the most versatile editing options for photo books.

  • How to change the font under windows icon size 8

We have Windows 8 Pro and would like to change the font size under the icons for a larger size. In Windows XP and Vista, this been done easily by selecting the look and colors of Windows and selecting icons.

We would like to see an easy solution to this problem.

    James

This changes the ICON and the text of the same size, I want to change ONLY THE TEXT under the ICON not both. I need to enlarge the text under the icon, I don't want to enlarge the icon.  You have been able to do under XP and Vista.

    Hi James

I tried this on several different systems of Windows 8, and it seems to work fine.

original title: the desktop icon text box

The text under my desktop icons are highlighted in a blue rectangle.  How do I get the highlighted blue and rectangle to disappear?  It was clear a few days ago.

Do a net search for "icons transparent Alan Edwards" and you will always find the answer for this quickly.  Here is the answer to the problem:

    1. Control Panel-System-Advanced-Performance settings.
Check "Shadows fall to use the desktop icon labels" on the display
    Effects tab.

2 - Click on Desktop - "arrange icons by" and ensure the lock Web
    items is disabled.

    3. transparency will not work if you have the web content on your desktop.
Control panel - display properties Desktop tab - customize the Office-
Web tab, clear all the check boxes.

    4. ensure that the wallpaper is an image file no HTML.

  • MS Word turned my office and all the icons have been changed to MS Word. Can't seem to get rid of.

I am running Windows7 Home Premium. All the icons on my desktop have changed the Word icon, and each icon now on MS Word. I was not able to change this icon back to what they should be. MS Word has hijacked my office.

    Any help gratefully received

I could solve the problem by restarting, F8 to open the boot options, choose the repair mode and system restore to a few days before.

The user of the pc says it all started when they double click on a file and was prompted to choose a program to open the file with... they chose Microsoft Word and it changed all of their MS Word icons icons.

    Hope this helps someone.

  • each icon opens the microsoft Flight Simulator

Each icon in my Start menu and also my office only opens x for some reason microsoft Flight Simulator any. There was no restem system restore points so I can't do that. I need a solution to this problem.

You have indicated above, I believe the file association for the shortcut LNK files gave the misdirection for Microsoft Flight Simulator X. I have seen this occur when you open a document or another filew via a shortcut (for example. LNK file), you are asked what type of program to open it with. After selecting Microsoft Flight Simulator X (or another program) via the Select a program from a list of programs installedand check always use the selected program to open this type of file (circled in red below), the program referenced by the shortcut of origin or document opens in Microsoft Flight Simulator X as it should.

The problem is that now all shortcuts (for example. LNK files) on the desktop or in the Explorer and the start menu will want to be opened by Microsoft Flight Simulator X and use the icon for Microsoft Flight Simulator X to display the shortcut no matter what shortcut was initially intended to open. This is known as a file association and the default icon. The same condition can occur if you have performed these actions 'Open with' on one. JPG or even a. EXE, but the. LNK explanation is much more likely for the items on the desktop.

The good news is that a small free utility was written to cancel the. LNK file association was created. There is also a registry hack to achieve, but I recommend the utility unAssoc for its ease of use. I used to send people on another site to download this utility, but this site has become confused with all the ads and fake download links. I put a copy on by SkyDrive own here.

Just download, then use the utility to unassociate the. LNK files for the user or globally delete the file type and let windows rebuild a new default.

  • Tool menus - the display of text instead of icons?

    Hi guys

Given that I've updated Photoshop CC, I noticed that some of my menus tools have changed. In particular, the style of a large number of orders have changed text (often with an associated checkbox) to icons.

Keeping in mind how annoyingly small each icon in Photoshop is, at least be able to read the name of the button that I have previously made a bit easier on the eyes.

To give an example specific using the Magic Eraser on my PC (which I have not updated yet), work, I see the word "Contiguous" with a small checkbox next to switch between adjacent/non-contiguous pixels. However, on my PC at home (with the latest version of PS) this button has now been replaced by an icon:

    Menu.jpg

Does anyone know if it is possible to return to the menu text of old style commands.

Thanks a lot first of all help with this.

    Steve

    Hi Steve

You should uncheck 'Enable close Options Bar' in Preferences > workspace.  Restart Photoshop and you will have the text instead of icons.

  • How get the text of each paragraph when a textStyleRange is made of texts to multiple paragraphs

    Hello

Always on my account findText. The result is sometimes as a textStyleRange which contains the texts of multiple paragraphs. What is the best (and easy) way to get the text of each paragraph individually?

Example: The result of an italic findText with the following extract gives me "saectur quatur? " " Ipsapidunte our" as a unique textStyleRange (correct) but I want to get the text of each paragraph.

Is there a way to force the findText in the paragraphs and not those of them and if not, how to cut the textStyleRange in 2 texts?

    -----------------------

Our Ipsapidunte and eumquosame derepre id ulparch iliquae offic tem faccusd aecaborrum, sequi aut doloreperi quaectem eatem faces very quam, con nullaccus repratur molorio enis modi sumquibus nostemquam and volorum facidunti nonseditati re a dolut dolorest ab idipitem saectur quatur?

Our Ipsapidunte and eumquosame derepre id ulparch iliquae offic tem faccusd aecaborrum, sequi aut doloreperi quaectem eatem faces very quam, con nullaccus nostemquam repratur molorio enis modi sumquibus and re volorum facidunti nonseditati a saectur dolut dolorest ab idipitem quatur?

    There are two solutions:

    (1) you could be formatted every paragraph with formatting marks that you know doesn't exist anywhere else. In this way, each textStyleRange is guaranteed to end at the end of the paragraph.

    (2) you can access the entire first paragraph: myTextStyleRange.paragraphs [0]. I have not tested, but no doubt it works. You could also do a loop: paraLength = myTextStyleRange.paragraphs.length; for (i = 0; i< paralength;="" i++);="" mypara="myTextStyleRange.paragraphs[i];}">

  • Firefox cannot display the text instead of icons on the toolbar buttons now?

Hello. Before the update today, I used the option to display text instead of icons on my toolbar buttons. This option is now removed? I can't find.

Before there was a possibility of using icons, text or icons with text. I don't speak of 'Return', 'Home', charging ","Downloads"and other buttons. Can someone tell me if it still exists or it has been deleted completely? If so, perhaps there is an add-on or something that does the same thing?

    Thank you guigs2.

You're the first to give me this bugzilla link, cheers.
    I'll send them a message.

If I don't actually consider it a bug.
We had the button, they took for cosmetics (mobile user interface, because who has computers, laptops or desktops, right...) and we did not give the possibility to reactivate.
    Seems more like a new feature request (;

I know about the option to click right, but with multiple downloads that quickly becomes an orgy of mouse click (or in my golden Shower of pen wacom case, knotting my fingers while doing).

This isn't the announced personalization and simplified user friendly interface user Australis was supposed to be...
.. .this which an epic facepalm.

When I wake up the computer in "sleep" or "hibernate" mode, only the photo Office rises, not the icons, so I have to restart with a hard off every time.  What can I do?

Press CTRL + ALT + DELETE and bring up the Task Manager > move in process > select Explorer > end task and it will restart and if all goes well it will bring to the top of your screen properly.

Your computer is completely up-to-date with all the updates?

Note I'm not a fan of setting hibernation or sleep a computer there, it can sometimes lead to problems (as you see)

    I hope this helps.
