On Satellite L500 WLAN led indicator light is orange - is this OK?

My WLAN indicator is orange glowing on my new laptop? Nothing in the manual tells me what color it should be, but my gut guess naturally it should be green like the other indicators. The wireless connection is the netrouter, but I assure you it's OK.

Thank you

Ian

Yes, my WLan led shines orange too and my laptop is Satellite U400.
I guess is ok because it does not have different led colors that could provide the different status of WLan is it s you or off

    Hello world

I have a problem with the led power indicator. He gets after I completely stop my laptop. After I closed the power light lid Gets and it stays on. No AC adapter is connected, but it seeps. I don't understand why?

I read the manual of Toshiba in which it is said:

2 - the power led indicator? truns orange and blinks when the laptop is in sleep mode
3 and there is no other action made by the power light...

As in my case, when I stop my laptop all lights out, but after a few seconds, the power led (orange) lights up. Please help me to slove this.

    Hello

Yes, that is really strange and normally if you shut down the computer (not standby) and unplug the AC adapter, all LEDs should be disabled.

Since when have you noticed the problem? Have you connected external devices to the laptop?

This new model s notebook, and probably it has something to do with the BIOS. Have a look at the Toshiba website, if you can find a newer version of the BIOS:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

But before you start the update also to read the instructions to update the BIOS of Toshiba. It gives you a lot of information about how to update the BIOS.

The wireless router has also been replaced with a brand new, problem persists... but not as often.

    Hello

First of all, it would be interesting to know if you have updated the WLan driver for the last?

    See this page:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/
    Here's the latest Wlan driver

In addition, you must set the BIOS to default settings.
If you are using Windows 7, I recommend you disable Wlan Card in Windows 7 energy saving power management.
Last but not least go to-Wlan card properties-> Advanced tab > Device Manager and check some settings it

  • How to activate on my Satellite L500 WLAN?

I have the Toshiba Satellite L500 and it has Windows 7. It has a switch something internal wireless or EV and I asked several people and they all say the same thing that you can activate the wireless with BIOS or using FN + F8 but I turned it on in the BIOS and the light on the front of the laptop with wireless on is not on and when I try the key Fn and F8 each other tab appears except the wireless.

It makes me angry that I almost want to take the laptop and bring it back even though it's a great laptop but wireless, I'm not interested.

Please help me solve this problem!

Please check device manager and be sure the wireless network adapter is installed and enabled correctly.
If the card is correctly activated all what you need to do is use the FN + F8 key combination.

Please note: If no wireless communication device is installed, no dialog box is displayed using FN + F8.

    Laptop:

    Problem:
Something wrong with the wireless adapter, where it works very well for 30 minutes after the start of the computer, but all of a sudden, it is is turned off by itself and I couldn't allow it without having to restart the system. I tried to adjust the properties of power management of the adapter wireless, but for some reason that I could not reach it (tab power management in the adapter properties window is not there!)

The problem is not because of the router because my other devices has no problem with the WiFi connection.

  • Satellite 2805-S201: AC power light flashes orange 8 times

    Hello

I worked on a Satellite 2805-S201 and everything was fine until I put a PCMCIA wireless with 3, 3V power.
After that, the AC power light flashes orange 8 times and recycle.

It comes with power supply, battery, AC and no battery installed, etc. If I pull out the power plug and the battery and then put both when AC is green and the battery may charge. As soon as I push the power button, I hear a light click on the right side of the device and then it goes into the amber cycling power.

Bulletins of support mentioned that the card could get damaged, but did not mention the unit itself.
No, the PCMCIA card is not always connected

    Any thoughts?

    Hello

The flashing provides a micro code which refers to the hardware failure.
But please don't ask me what might mean this code because in my opinion, only an authorized service provider can be read and can check in his manuals and documentations.
But it is of course, in most cases, it s a hardware problem of motherboard! ;(

Perhaps the external PCMCIA card was not totally compatible and damages of something on the map but it's only my personal suggestion to ensure what s bad hardware fault diagnosis would be necessary.

  • X 201 WLAN LED does not blink. Is this normal?

Hello, I just got a ThinkPad X 201 (this is my third ThinkPad). As expected, this is a great machine and I'm pretty impressed with its performance, despite its size.

However, I noticed that the WIFI does not blink - my two other ThinkPads done - it. Is this normal? I have not noticed any problems with conectivity.

Also, I am interested in the WWAN upgrade (this machine is expandable WWAN). The maintenance manual contained the F3507g Ericsson as a proper map. I'm lucky to have this one in my other ThinkPad, but when I tried to install the X 201 rejected saying its not allowed. How can I find out what other cards listed in the manual is really compatible with the model?

    WLAN-LED:

    1. Run regedit
    2. GoTo HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class
    3. Search from there for your wireless network card f.ex "6200 agn' (see in Device Manager)
As search result you will get for example:
      "\0007 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E972-E325-11CEBFC1-08002BE10318}.
You will find additional keys like "DriverDesc", "DriverVersion", "Ada" etc.
    4. Create a RegDWord named 'LedMode '.
    5. set its value to one of the following:
    • 0 = always off LED
    • 1 = led on and blinks then that traffic
    • 2 = always on LED

deactivate and activate your WLAN device in Device Manager.

On some Thinkpads "LedMode" - entry is missing - so it must be created manually

  • Satellite L750: WLan LED is OFF / driver Bluetooth not installable

Hi, can someone tell if it is known or unknown problem.

It comes to the status of "Out-of-the-box".

    (1) wireless communication led her to the right is always disabled regardless of the status of the internet connection. As a general rule, connection is not detected on boot-up top, so FN + F8 and "All-on" step is necessary until I get internet connection Wi - Fi.

    (2) in this case, if I try to turn it on Bluetooth (for me to be able to use the Bluetooth mouse), it begins to install the Bluetooth driver but ends at halfway, telling it that "Bluetooth cannot be turned on, turn the knob on the side of the unit" - of course there is no physical button or switch on my laptop for this statement.

To make things worse, if I try to update the BIOS with the latest version, the file contains a Trojan virus (as of December 3, 2012, 22:00, the New Zealand time), and I was unable to update.

I've updated the network wireless third party (64-bit) driver, but it does not solve these problems.
    Thank you

    Please can someone help me?

    Hello

What system do you use? Win 7 or Win 8?
Using Fn + F8 turn on the WiFi and BT and turns off.
Using Win 7, you can enable and disable WLan or BT but using 8 win the FN + F8 would disable Wlan and BT at the same time.

I have no idea what you have the WLan card, but I think that a single module contains a feature WiFi and BT. So if you want to install the BT stack you must install first the filter of Bluetooth (IE if you have the Atheros Wlan card, you need to install the Atheros BT stack BEFORE BT filter).

Looks like the unit is of the Australia, then I recommend the driver page for all Toshiba drivers to THE

  • Satellite Pro 6100 - problem starting (light flashing Orange)

On my laptop Satellite Pro 6100, seeing DC IN (first on the left) flashes orange and the laptop does nothing else (no display or sound). The light flashes for 8 times, has a long pause and then starts all over again.

I tried a different adapter with no joy. It does the same thing if you use only the battery and if you run from the adapter without the battery.

The only time wherever it shows a different light is when you take the battery out, put back in and hold the power button. Led Slim Select Bay (second right) briefly turns green, but it turns off and the led DC IN resumption of the orange blink.

It seems likely that it is an internal hardware problem (power supply, motherboard, etc.). Does anyone have any ideas? And as anyone knows anywhere which lists all the different orange light codes for Toshiba laptops?

    Hi André,.

You are right in thinking that there is a hardware failure (most likely your motherboard). Flashing codes are used by service technicians to indicate the nature of the fault and I have yet to find anywhere who publishes the real meaning of these codes.

I think it looks like a trip to the nearest Service Agent. :-(

  • Satellite A100-225: battery power light flash orange

Last night, plugged my AGES of NINE DAYS by Satellite A100-225, the lights were on, it was working fine.

This morning, woke up, lights were turned off, tried to turn it on, the battery power button flashed light Orange.

Tried to play with the cable by plugging it into other outlets that I knew worked, nothing helps.

Have tried to start without the battery in it, without success.

Unless there is a function that can prevent from starting somewhere, I don't know what to say. This computer is nine days old, and I do not understand how something can just wrong all night.

Adding info if necessary - computer was on when I went to sleep, and was running Mozilla Firefox and WinAMP.

    Hello

Perhaps the unit automatically goes in standby mode or hibernation?
On this device, the automatic system standby/hibernation has been reinstalled. This function automatically stops the system when there is no input or material of access for a specified time. You can specify the time and select System standby or hibernation in the base of the Toshiba power saver settings tab.

In addition, if the battery LED is flashing it means that the battery charge is low. The adapter must be connected to the battery.
If it of not possible to charge the battery, so there are several possibilities: the battery could be dead, the AC adapter doesn't work or there is something wrong with the hardware of the laptop.

Try disconnecting the battery several times and then connect.

But according to your ad you tried a procedure and it doesn t work. So I think you should ask the ASP in your country to help.

I have a Toshiba Satellite L500 1XZ and my wireless stop working. None before the light is led. BIOS of wireless communication settings is on. In Device Manager it seems to set up correctly with no errors.

I change Windows 7 Ultimate and professional and the same thing happens. Yesterday, I used the wireless on Win7 Ultimate and now it stopped working.

    Does that mean exactly?
Can you choose between ON and OFF option WLAN Card?

If the WLAN led is off it means that this WLAN adapter is not enabled.

What model of laptop you have exactly (L500-xxx)?
    What WLAN card is inside?
Have you installed the latest driver?

Well, saying Toshiba does not support Linux its meaning only there is no Linux drivers or tools on the page of the Toshiba driver.

You can install Linux, but the point is that you have to use it without any special Toshiba Linux driver
