  No problem here. Sorry it does not work for you. I am running Photoshop CS3 on a 2008 Mac Pro 8-core 2.8 GHz and a 2007 Macbook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.33 GHz without problem.

• I'm unable to open ITunes and integrated webcam by clicking on the icon.

  When I try to open my webcam by clicking on videos on the dock icon, and then clicking the webcam icon I get the loading circle by my hand to the mouse for about 1/2 second, then it disappears and nothing happens.   (1) that you get an error message or error code?
  (2) is the issue limited to ITunes and the integrated webcam?
  (3) have you made changes on the computer?

• Can you open/edit indesign CS3 files that have been created with CS5?

  I recently purchased indesign CS5 and use that for my internship. However, my boss is still using CS3 and said that she could not open or edit the indesign file that I sent him.  I looked to see if there was an option in 'export' and have not found anything.  I use a mac and I think she uses a P.C., too, when I finally sent him the file, I was still with my free trial - all this make a difference?  Help, please!

  You must export a CS5 idml file, and then open the idml in CS4, export a file inx there then that open in CS3 and save it as an indd.  Sorry but there is no way round, presence, end of history etc etc.  If she's using CS3 and you use CS5 there are no roads between them unless you have CS4, and even in this case the road is littered with pitfalls!  Look at here for a pretty long discussion / sometimes write on the subject.

  Ultimately it will have to be upgraded, or you could see if you could buy a CS3 or version 4 but it is very difficult to get a legitimate copy, the only way is to buy it off someone you know and most of the people do not sell because they upgrade.

  Best new last, there is a solution in the short term to this guys blog and you can download a trial version of CS4 that will last for a month.

  I just reinstalled Windows 7 64-bit(for other purposes) and of course downloaded firefox 21.0 as soon as I could, but found that it is not all options as there were once (before the reinstall) when I right click the icon in the task bar firefox ("Enter private browsing," "open new tab" etc..).

  I checked the Userchrome.css file and does not exist. In the properties of the start menu "store and view these options... '. ' has been verified (unchecked and recontroler). Also mucked the subject: config with specific options mentioned in the link above and nothing (all are now by default). I don't know if some extensions can cause problems with this, but I currently have stumbleupon and Personas Plus, NoScript, AdBlockPlus (which if I'm not mistaken were all on before reinstalling windows). Even just reinstalled firefox just on the off chance that he can fix it, but unfortunately it didn't.

  It seems to be fixed, I guess that since the last update. I've updated a day or two ago, I forgot to check for it, but it's working now.

• PS CS4 almost unusable with snow leopard

  Installation of Snow Leopard.  Adobe ran uninstall for CS3, and then did a fresh install of CS4.  Downloaded all the updates.  When I open Photoshop, I get a constant flow of the same error message 'Could not complete your request because of a program error' screen attached.  It is pretty much unusable Photoshop.  I'm not having the same problems with Illustrator.  I work on a MacBook Pro w / 1.83 GHz Intel processor and 1.5 GB 667 Mhz memory.  If someone could help me suss the problem I would be eternally grateful.

  Don't forget what I was doing was installing 10.6 on my 10.5.8 system which

  a work of CS4.  I didn't do a 10.6 clean and then install CS4.

  I use an iMac 2011 under Snow Leopard, but it can no longer print documents via my hp laserjet 2300dtn printer. Reason: whenever I try, a message appears through the PRINT icon in the Dock, read: "ERROR: has not received a Fax number. There is no fax option in the Print & Fax window in the System Prefs so I have no idea about the origin of the error message, but suspect there is corruption in the printing preferences.  So I went username/library/Preferences/com.apple.print.PrintingPrefs plist... and a file is moved to the trash. Unfortunately, the problem is not resolved. I am far away computer and would love advice for this situation.

  once having 2 versions of installed Indesign (CS4 and CS5), Snow Leopard using CS5 as the default application to open INDD files.

  Usually if you want to set a particular program as program by default, you do a right click on the file, go to 'get Info', then 'open with' and choose the applications in the drop-down menu, and then just below "any change". In general, this program has become the default program. It worked all the time except in this case. When you try to set Indesign CS4 as the default program for all INDD files (use 99% of the time and all CS4 INDD system files were created using CS4) it won't let me use the button "change everything". It goes automatically back to CS5. I want Indesign CS4 for the default program.

• How to restore good export PDF from InDesign CS3 or CS5 in Snow Leopard?

  I had no problem to export to PDF from InDesign CS3 files (on a Mac Pro running Snow Leopard 10.6.4) until last weekend, when all the fonts appear bitmap or thin and rough, and the images lost color depth and contrast. When I copied the InDesign document to my MacBook Pro laptop, also running 10.6.4 the PDF has emerged with its original quality. Support calls Adobe referred me to the incompatibilities between Snow Leopard and InDesign documents. One of these documents was several pages long, but I could not print from the Adobe to my HP website all-in-one Officejet, because one-third of the document was hidden under a white board. This makes it impractical for the troubleshooting document, because I don't have enough screen real estate (even on a 23-inch screen) to let the open document and all the pages and dialogue boxes needed for reference. Back to the phone and chat support, I was told to upgrade my Creative Suite Premium CS3 to CS5 ($ 800!) and buy the updated Acrobat Pro ($200), with no guarantee that this cost of $1,000 would actually solve the problem. I downloaded the trial version of InDesign CS5, and it has NOT solved the problem. I am also afraid that the problem did not exist before last weekend. Before that, my CS3 and Snow Leopard combination worked very well. Then I checked the forums and was appalled by the variety of issues related to PDF files, for which there seems to be no general solution. Meanwhile, I have hundreds of ads, I'm supposed to be prepare and e-mailing as evidence PDF to businesses nationwide. I have two books of 120 with 256 pages to be submitted to printers in PDF format with all kinds of fonts and files image belonging to my clients. The last time I presented a paper on a printer by electronic mail, the work went perfectly. This time and the next, it is obvious, that I won't be able to send a PDF file to all! If this is the case, my activities related to the directories of 27 will be unable to absorb the expenditures necessary to start all over again with software and new computers, and I'll be out of business. • Problems with fonts in InDesign CS3 in Snow Leopard

  Has anyone else had problems with the font book and InDesign CS3?

  Just had some new Mac Mini running Snow Leopard against Migration Assistant an old Mini. Initially, every thing seems to be great. But on the opening of the ads in Indd CS3 I noticed that fonts disappeared, even if they have been enabled in the font book.

  Then I reinstalled the necessary fonts and we don't use iLife and iTools products, I traded the Helvetica TrueType for the version of Adobe.

  It does not work...

  So, I have rebuilt the Mac fonts installed, once again, a CD original and installed InDesign CS3 clean (orig DVD)...

  Yet once again, did not work.

  Now, I know I can put fonts required in the folder Fonts in InDesign, or store them in ~/Library/Fonts, but since we have a library of 3000 + policies that manage our users with the font book, it will become unworkable.

  Anyone could launch a patch or fix this, another way...?

  There is a Snow Leopard update, you will need to search in preferences/software update system after the upgrade. After the reboot, this problem has been elminated for me, fortunately!

• iTunes will not open in Snow Leopard

  I created a new 2009 Intel mini which had Snow Leopard pre-installed on it.  I had to manually transfer my files from leopard (10.5.8.) of my G4 mini on it.  I did not move something related to iTunes again.  However, the iTunes application (v.11.4) on the new mini does not at all.  I read messages that indicate should I uninstall and reinstall iTunes.

  My questions are:

  1. should I uninstall/reinstall iTunes?  If so, how should I do that specifically, that is, it involves more than just drag the iTunes application located in the Applications folder to the trash?  Are there files in other areas of the computer that should also be deleted?  If so, what are they and where are they?

  2. I have the Snow Leopard installation disc.  Is it possible to use to reinstall iTunes only?

  3. when I download iTunes to open on the new mini, what should I do to get the content from iTunes to my mini G4 copied (manually) in the Intel mini?

• I am trying to-rInstaller Snow Leopard of Yosemitie. I made a mess of it and now it tells me that it is impossible to disassemble the hard drive

  Can someone tell me how to remove Yosemitie and reinstall Snow Leopard. I made a mess of it. I keep trying to erase the recovery disk, but do not know how. There is no data that I need to keep tro so free it please tell me how to re - install Snow Leopard in the simpleset of simple terms for a person aged 85, can understand it. I am very familiar wih Microsoft and regular of the PC.

  Boot from the Snow Leopard DVD by pressing the C key during a reboot or by holding down the option/Alt during a restart, the DVD. Once started, open utility disk, go to the tab clear, select Mac OS X extended (journaled) format with Option GUID. Erase the hard drive. When you are finished, install Snow Leopard. Once completed, restart normally and set up your account using Setup Assistant. Then use the update from the drop-down list below to update to10.6.8. Run the software update until there is no updates.

  If you want to save some of your existing data, copy what you want an external hard drive before proceeding to the foregoing.

  I've been running Photoshop elements on a Mac with OS 10.6.8 11 (Snow Leopard). I just got a new Mac with the latest OS X (OS 10.10.2,"limited Yosemite). I transferred all my files on the new computer using the Migration Wizard.

  PES 11 seems to install properly and the organizer opens OK, except that I get a message saying "some online services are not available" and her asking if I want to continue without them. However when I try to open the editor it opens, instead I get two error messages, first "among application components are missing from the Application directory, please reinstall the application", then "a required application library failed to open and the product cannot continue. Please reinstall the application '.

  My questions are - should I just do a reinstall from the original disk? If so, should I do a complete uninstall of 11 items first? If I do a reinstall, will I lose all the changes, the version sets or something else?

  I had said that I should be able to simply transfer via the PES 11, with the original product key only. Will there be incompatibilities between 11 PES and the latest version of Yosemite?

  You can never, never, never transfer any installed version of the EP on any platform. You should always install from scratch on a new machine. Trying to to, you have made more work for yourself. You must download and run this:

  Use the CC cleaning tool to resolve installation problems. CC, CS3 - CS6

  that won't seem to do anything, but is a necessary step to break the links within the program. Then you can go to and manually remove everything related to the PSE that you can find, not only Applications, but also your username > library > Preferences and the library at the top level of your hard drive > application support > adobe. You go to these places manually; Spotlight will not help you with this type of research.

  More than 5 years, I've used my saved version of Indesign 2.0 with happiness to produce and update my two self-published books (I love it!), only to find out recently that my upgrade to Mac OS 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) on my bicoeur ID 2.0 actually rendered MacMini Intel inmpatible. Ouch!

  Alas, purchase ID 5.5 is too expensive for my budget, leaving me with an offer for $49 / mo (great idea, Adobe!) or purchase register-able older worm. which is compatible and which I can then upgrade. Adobe told me ID CS2 qualifies for the upgrade, but got contradictory answers as to which is the oldest OS 10.6-compatible ID worm. An associated designer told me she has ID CS2 works great on his MacBook with OS10.6. Any advice much appreciated. Thank you!
