On some Web sites, controls do not seem to work. When I click on 'next' nothing happens.

At least two different sites... so far when I meet a control such as 'Next' nothing happens when I click on this control. On one site, Newsday.com, which is a newspaper, they show top stories and under the chassis there are arrows, ">" and "<" to see the next or previous history. These don't work at all.
I noticed that the default setting for my extensions and modules came from Java programs disabled. Could be the problem?

Thanks for the info. In fact, I think I found my problem. On the content/Java tab, I hit the button advanced and there are three options. One of them is to disable the menu content. I unchecked and it seems to work now. Thanks again for responding.

  • When you visit some Web sites, Firefox does not display the topic sites and sometimes the text correctly. It seems broken and unreadable.

I reinstalled a new version of Firefox and set all of the default settings, but the problem still persists. Running Windows 7 and I have tried several different browsers (IE, Safari, Chrome and Opera) and all seem to work well. Only problem is with Firefox. The only time it works great is when I do not allow the site to use their own fonts. For any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

These sites use the Helvetica font?

There has been problems reported with older versions of the Helvetica font bitmap or Geneva or fonts (bitmap) that Firefox cannot display in this size.

Firefox cannot display some old bitmap fonts in a larger size gibberish and display instead.

You can test in zoom out (view > Zoom > Zoom out, Ctrl-) to make the text smaller.

Uninstall (remove) all variants of this not working do Firefox, use another font or see if you can find a version of real type that does not show the problem.

There was also the fonts with a reported Chinese name who self-identify as Helvetica, in order to check that as well.

  • How can I change a Web site address in a link that opens when you click on it

I now use the operating system Windows 7 and Firefox as my default browser. Previously, in Windows XP, when I entered a Web site address, it is automatically replaced by a link (HTML?) and if you have clicked on the link you went directly to the corresponding page on the Web site. I can't not added relevant plugin or module and perhaps that is the reason why I'm having the problem. I would like to have a simple way to do this and not some of the suggestion I found trying to fix myself.

In Thunderbird, I see that there is an Insert menu where I can do this thing, but I can't find the Insert menu in Firefox.

  • I tried all the susgestions to solve the problem of some web sites don't load completle IE works well please fix this or I am done with Fire Fox, you retain to do fancy menus put he problems are still there

I started using Firefox initially because of problems with IE that are now corrected. Fire Fox 3xxx was big then 4 came out worked ok until the first update, then pages will load completely, wheel just keeps spinning 5 was the same thing and 6 is the same. one solution is to disable Java, which makes the sites load but then other sites requires Java, can't keep turning on/off.
Why so many people are add on is not compatible? Correct the problem of loading or I'll have to stop using Firefox and I like when working properly. Perfectly updated for Windows XP all add on s are up to date. There are several site to the problem sometimes, they do very well, but most of the time that they are not Richard

I got exactly the same problem with FF6 so far. Drove me crazy. Disable the web shield in my AVG antivirus solved the problem. Looks like it has something to do with Google of JS in some pages. Filming of Javascript in Firefox also helps, but is not a solution.

I already contacted AVG support. Don't know who is more responsible for this well, Firefox and it's the newest upcoming version every two months or Google/AVG because they just can't keep up with Firefox so quickly so often change =)

  • My internet does not allow me on some Web sites.

One night, my computer has been close to me on two of my most used sites, saying they are a broken link. I tried several browsers service but still no luck. I know that these sites are still in place because I visited them on my mobile device. I know it's a problem with the internet, because at the same time, that the sites were down on this computer they were also (and still) down on my laptop. Thank you!

    Hello

Thanks for posting the question in the Microsoft Community!

You cannot access some sites and get the message that they are a broken link.

1 have you tried in Internet Explorer? If Yes, what is the exact error message that you receive in it? Also, what is the version of the browser?

2 - is the issue limited only to these sites or it occurs with other sites as well?

    3. who is the Internet service provider (ISP)?

If the problem occurs with all sites, while there might be a problem with the internet connection and I suggest you to contact the service provider.

If the question is limited that to certain sites then I suggest you to refer to the section I can access some websites, but not all in the site:

  • Some Web sites do not display the fonts in firefox.

For a while through a number of updates, I see that on some Web sites, rolling stone and cnbc are two example. If I go to the fonts in my computer and click on restore default settings for fonts, it solved that temporarily the problem. If I go to the settings and disable Web sites use their own fonts, it solves but fonts do not appear as sites intend to make them appear. This does not happen in other browsers, firefox only. I reinstalled windows fonts 7. I tried to disable hardware acceleration... Still has not solved the problem. How can I solve this problem in firefox?

Do you know if there is a model of policing does not work? If you right click on the text of the problem and choose inspect element (Q), Firefox should open the Inspector tool in the lower part of the tab. On the right side in front of the HTML source code is a box that can usually shows the style rules. Click small heading fonts to show the font used for the text of the problem.

When I visit the site, the text of the problem is in "Close Gotham" (with more than words displayed in the attached screenshots). These are downloadable fonts.

  • Some Web sites do not show text correctly but only in Firefox

Firefox does not display text on some web sites, all I get are |, <>of arrows, points etc and yet I can see very well in Chrome or IE pages. IV removed my FF, disabled theme Add ons and check if everything is updated and still nothing.

Its really annoying, the main site, I have a problem with is http://www.three.co.uk but I just discovered this site well http://css-plus.com/examples/plugins/PlusSlider/ there has been others in the past, but I just ignored it for a while but now its annoying me! 99.99% of the sites are absolutely perfect and if I disabled style sheets I see the text very well, but of course, it's all left aligned etc.

Try disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox.

Try the pref gfx.content.azure.enabled set to false or if this does not help disable Direct2D by setting the pref gfx.direct2d.disabled true on the subject: config page and leave hardware acceleration enabled otherwise.

Alternatively, you can try to uninstall the update of Windows KB2670838 if you have this update.
