  No, it is not, you will need to expand appearance if you have 2 separate forms.

  The closest thing is below, but I get the opposite effect. The filling of magenta turn into a circle Elipse, transform recanters circle, an opacity of 0% and with knockout group work together for mask, but the effect is opposite of what you asked.

  I have an image that has a completely transparent box and a partially transparent region.  Image is everything in a single layer, there is no mask, and there are only four default RGB layers.  The layer is opaque at 100% and has no effect.  I use CS4 with the last update (11.0.2).

  I want to evenly reduce the transparency of the partially transparent region (make it more opaque).  Although it is trivial to do in Inkscape or Paint.net, I spent more than an hour unsuccessfully trying to do this in PhotoShop.  I do not understand that some things are a little harder to first of all in PhotoShop for the benefit of much more flexibility and power in the long term.  In this particular case, I am of ideas.

  If it's important, the image is a normal map, for the game that I created for, the alpha channel of the normal map is used to store the plan of specular reflection.

  Unfortunately, I think you need a new feature that has been added to Photoshop CS5 to do this directly: now you can layer - layer to a transparency mask through the good work of Chris Cox.

  With Photoshop CS4, you might do something like duplicate image, then merge down.  Who should actually double the opacity of each pixel partially opaque.  You can make changes, when you change the opacity of the top layer before re - merge.

  I don't remember quite all conditions where it can happen, but just be wary of Photoshop by changing the RGB values of fully transparent pixels to white.

  Not sure if this question has already been resolved but I have CS6 and I always encountered this. In general, when I start a vector illustration, I tend to draw the outline of the object and use it as the clipping mask.

  Then I add details within the clipping mask by creating a new "paths/objects/etc" but the "'out of the back/above" feature does not work. " The new "paths/objects/etc" moves automatically to the top of the layer above the clipping mask, and I always have to drag in the clipping mask.

  Maybe I've done this wrong all the way through but its just something that I feel like I need to ask.

  Thank you, Jacob. I don't know that is easier or more efficient, but I ended up inserting all of the images on top of each other, and copy and paste in place (Ctrl + Shift + V) my rectangle. Then I chose a rectangle and an image and apply the mask (Ctrl + 7) and then sent it to the back with (Ctrl + Shift + []) before repeating.

  • Start a new file in Photoshop in RGB Mode
  • Create a new layer and fill it with RGB = (8,8,8)
  • Add a mask
  • Copy the (8,8,8) color (strg + a, Ctrl + c), then paste it into the mask layer (alt + click, Ctrl + v)

  What I get is not a - plain - color (8,8,8) in the mask, but a picture raster with (7,7,7) and (9,9,9).

  Can someone explain this strange behavior for me? It's just a bug in my version (CS6 13.0.1)?

  This is how Photoshop. RGB to copy then paste into a single channel, for example, a mask or alpha channel will involve conversion of document RGB profile in grayscale, working space profile (as defined in Edit > color settings).

  If a doc has sRGB profile and grayscale working space is sGray, or doc a profile Adobe RGB and grayscale working space is Gamma 2.2, gray values RGB will be then copy and paste into a mask without changing the value.

  In any case, if you copy a single color channel, say R, then that can be pasted into a mask and values will not change.

  For Acrobat Pro DC:

  1. go to the component 'tools '.

  2. Select 'Print Production '.

  3. in the right pane (RHP) select transparency flattening.

  Note: Alternatively, you can search for this purpose in the tool pane or right hand by typing "flattening of transparencies.

  For Acrobat Pro XI

  1. go to the RHP.

  2. go to the top right corner and click the icon to start the menu.

  3. check the option 'Print Production'.

  4 Selectadefault ' tab 'Print Production' in the RHP and choose the option "flattening of transparencies.

  Yes, it is quite possible.

  Two things: the use of closed paths. And if you have multiple objects, you must do a compound of them before you make a mask.

  You can also use the direct type of masking. Simply put in front of the image, select both and Cmd + 7

What is happening instead is that if I rollover the squares, only alpha at the bottom right of the square is affected.
