On the hierarchical dimension

Hi experts

I have a few doubts about the hierarchical dimension (only obiee 11 g)

I have a dimension with levels:

+ Total
- + Level1a
- + Level1b
-Level2b.1
-Level2b.2
- + Level1c

My first question is to know how to start my report of childs 'Total '. I get this in the stages of selection pane and choose all the items of level 1. OBIEE then shows me hard-coded in the future there are new members on the level 1 I won't see him... I need a function like 'Total childs.

Second question: I want to apply a level based on different conditional format of hierarchy and I choose all members hard... not "childs of."

Any help on this?

Thank you!

Hi Alex,

I need a function like 'Total childs.

In the stages of selection, start with all members, in step 2, click new-> step-> 'Select members based on a hierarchy' in the pop up Action select "keep only members of the"-> select all levels except Total. This will display the report with all the children of total

I want to apply a level based on different conditional format of hierarchy and I choose all members hard... not a "child of".

Criteria Possible.In tab, click on + icon to display all levels. If you want to apply to level 2-> click conditional formatting on the properties of hierarchical level level 2-> conditional formatting-> add condition-> select your hierarchy column-> in the filter, click Search-> "on the level" drop-down select "level 2" and click Search-> This will display all the members at level 2-> members move the pane on the right-> OK and get in shape. ".

Kind regards

  • dimension of the hierarchical attribute with Essbase Studio

    Hello world

    I need to load the product dimension that is organized in a parent-child relational table like this:
    (parent_code, member_code, member_alias, mark, consolidation, formula)

    Each product has a mark and I need to load brand as a dimension of the attribute. The thing is the brand isn't flat, but it has its own hierarchy. For the brand, I have another relational table, where the data are organized parent-child like this:
    (brand_parent, brand_child, brand_alias).

    I do this load with Essbase Studio but I know is not how to create the Product hierarchy in the cube schema in order to load the parent-child hierarchical attributes. Documentation and tutorials only show examples of dishes attributes. I thought of these two ways, but do not know if will work:

    hierarchy of case 1) product like this:

    Parent_code
    Member_code
    Brand_parent
    Brand_child
    Member_code

    hierarchy of case 2) product like this:

    Parent_code
    Member_code
    Brand_parent
    Brand
    Member_code

    Someone had to do this? How did you do?
    Any help will be much appreciated.

  • Add the quarter to the time dimension

    Hello

    We have created a time dimension using the owb wizzard, but did not include the quarter level. Is it possible to add it to the dimension later without deleting a re-creation of the entire dimension?
    A new time dimension would probably be corrupt all the cubes (data and metadata), so I would avoid that.
    Any ideas?

    See you soon,.

    Knut

    Hi Knut

    Yep, should be possible.

    Change the dimension and select the quarter level in the levels Panel, and then click quarter in hierarchies pane to add it to the hierarchy. You can then delete the link and autobind on details for the physical links to the underlying table. On the hierarchies pane, there is a button "Create map" that will regenerate the mapping to load the time dimension.

  • display the hierarchical member alias names

    How to display the alias names of the hierarchical member instead of the names of members of contour in shapes of lines and columns?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    Click the dimension properties icon right next to the drop-down list of dimension (to the left of the input box where you put the name of the Member in) in the form of row/column design.
    It will have a property for "alias member.

    Ok?

  • How to create a report that will show us the hierarchical structure

    Hi all

    I use studio financial reporting for reports.
    I have a planning application. And I used areas such as the entity Dimension.

    Now, I am creating a report of users to see my hierarchy of dimension entity.
    Something like areas
    East
    West
    North
    South

    I'm able to generate the report, but the hierarchy of areas does not appear...

    Can someone advice if there is an option in the preparation of financial reports to make more visible the hierarchical structure by adding a correct indentation between the parent and child?...

    And Yes, I used a prompt for the entity in the report...

    Thank you

    You could add indentation around the lines of formatting.

    1. Select the line
    2. Select Format
    3. click on the tab of allignment
    4. set a number for the indentation.

    Good luck!

  • No option to place the hierarchical block

    Hello world

    I bought NI Circuit Design Suite 14 - Student Edition. I am quite new to this program, so I wanted to work through a book in order to get some experience.

    Unfortunately, even in the first chapters that they refer to the hierarchical block function. I don't see this option. It is supposed to be in the "'place-> new hierarchical block" menu, but I do not have this entry. " Also I tried to customize my toolbar just to make sure that this feature is not disabled but I can't find any entry on this.

    I use the German version of Multisim 14 but I tried to change the language to English - there is still no menu available.

    For me, all of the features on this block herarchical lack (New, hierarchical block of the file, replace with hierarchical block). But the online help lists only these features as well.

    Is this some sort of restriction for the version of education? I wonder because the books I use offer a copy of the version of education as well, and they refer to this feature very often.

    I would apreciate any comment.

    Thank you

    Hey Stg86,

    This option exists in Multisim 14. This is a screenshot of my version of multisim, and as you can see, I have more options available in the menu of the Place. I changed the language to German, but this should not be the reason for the appearance of additional options.

    I think that this problem is related to the version or the installer of Multisim. Multisim is available in two versions: for academic users and industrial users. Some options are only available in one of the two versions.

    It's the version for industrial users:

  • Financial Reporting - the user can access the POV dimensions

    Hello. In collaboration with the 11.1.2.3.700 version. Have a HFM user that can go in HFM and see all members and data (scenarios, entities, customs, etc.) within HFM. When he goes to EN to run reports, however, he has problems with dimensions that are secured in HFM - entity, scenario, (custom) data type. If one of these dimensions is the point of view, they do not show when it displays an overview from the point of view and then the report does not work because there is no selection. If these dimensions are defined in the report (which is not part of the POV), the report runs well.

    There is no preference user limiting POV members and reports are not confined to specific user POV members. Other people can run those reports very well. Also tried to make this user a HFM and the Foundation (which EN) administrator and even there the problem.

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you

    Eric

    Hello. A great co-worker has solved the problem. She used the ManageUserPOV.cmd utility to export users POVs. The user in question had an entry for the missing dimension, so he was never invited to do and reports failed. Imported and supplied the lack of dimension and it works fine now.

  • Parsing xml and store the details in the hierarchical tables

    Hi all

    I'm trying to parse a xml code and store the details in the hierarchical tables, however, I am unable to analyze the child attributes of tags and store the details in relational format.

    Oracle - 11.2.0.4 version

    My XML looks like in below:

    <Root>
    <ParentTag name="JobName" attrib1="Text" attrib2="SomeOtherText">
      <ChildTag childAttrib1="SomeValue1" childAttrib2="SomeValue2" />
      <ChildTag childAttrib1="SomeValue3" childAttrib2="SomeValue4" />
      <ChildTag childAttrib1="SomeValue5" childAttrib2="SomeValue6" />

      <OtherChildTag childAttrib1="SomeValue1" childAttrib2="SomeValue2" />
    </ParentTag>
    </Root>

    The table structure is as follows:

    create the table parent_details
    (
    job_id number primary key,
    VARCHAR2 (100) job_name,.
    job_attrib1 varchar2 (100),
    job_attrib2 varchar2 (100)
    );

    create the table child_details
    (
    child_id number primary key,
    number of parent_job_id
    child_attrib1 varchar2 (100),
    child_attrib2 varchar2 (100),
    Constraint fk_child_details foreign key (parent_job_id) refers to parent_details (job_id)
    );

    After analysis, I would expect the data to be stored in the format below:

    Table Name:-
    parent_details
    ID Name     Attribute1  Attribute2
    1  JobName  Text        SomeOtherText

    ChildTable (Store Child Tag details)
    ID Parent ID Attribute1  Attribute2
    1  1         SomeValue1  SomeValue2
    2  1         SomeValue3  SomeValue4
    3  1         SomeValue5  SomeValue6

    I tried following SQL, but it does not work. Please suggest if the same SQL can be improved to get the details in the expected format or should I use another solution.

    select job_details.*
      from test_xml_table t,
           xmltable ('/Root/ParentTag'
                      passing t.col
                      columns
                        job_name varchar2(2000) path '@name',
                        attribute1 varchar2(2000) path '@attrib1',
                        attribute2 varchar2(2000) path '@attrib2',
                        childAttribute1 varchar2(2000) path '/ChildTag/@childAttrib1'
                    ) job_details;

    I'm not forced to have a SQL solution, but would if it can be in SQL.

    Kind regards

    Laureline.

    Well, the XML contains hierarchical data, and SQL is a "dish" of data, so it's up to you to treat lines that are coming out of the flat style and determine how to get that in separate tables.

    Suppose that we have several nodes of ParentTag each containing several nodes of ChildTag...

    SQL > ed

    23 passage t.xml

    25, path name varchar2 (10) '. / @name'
    26, path of varchar2 (10) of attrib1 '. / @attrib1 '

    30, xmltable ('/ ParentTag/ChildTag ')
    passage 31 x.children
    c 32 columns for ordinalite
    33, path of varchar2 (10) of childattrib1 '. / @childAttrib1 '
    34 road of varchar2 (10) of childattrib2 '. / @childAttrib2 '

    JobName2 TextX SomeOtherT 1 SomeValue6 SomeValue8 2
    JobName2 TextX SomeOtherT 2 SomeValue7 SomeValue9 2

    Using the 'ordinalite' gives us the line number for this node in the XML file, so that you can identify each parent as well as to say who is the first record of this parent (because it will have a child with the ordinalite 1).

  • Dimension of the attribute on the same dimension

    Is it possible to associate an attribute of the same dimension in OSB?

    The example that I'm talking about is:

    I have an Employee dimension

    I want to put an attribute used for 'Manager '.

    The Associate Manager is also the Employee dimension.

    I don't want to reproduce the Employee dimension unnecessarily if I can just do an attribute.

    I'm using EPMA well and on the 11.1.2.2.500 version.

    Thanks in advance.

    No, you can't do it.  You must create a dimension attribute that contains all employees who are also responsible.

    The Essbase view you are not increasing the size of the cube by adding the dimension of 'Manager' (as you probably know) attribute.

    'rangeComparisonType': "STRING",.

    "multiSelectType": "GOLD."

    'sourcePropertyNames': ['product.brand'],

    $ index_config_cmd.bat set-config - f < index_config_filename_with_location >

    3 created the xml file to define the SIFT dimension product.brandName dimension values. XML file is attached - rs_baseline_brandName_dimvals.xml

    4 record store import above file inside.

    5 set up shop in last-mile-crawl crawl

  • All the members (but 1) are removed from the entity dimension in planning and deployed to essbase. -What are the data deleted in essbase so? / The data can be restored by restoring the entity dimension?

    All the members (but 1) are removed from the entity dimension in planning and deployed to essbase.

    -What are the data deleted in essbase so?

    The data can be restored by restoring the entity dimension? EPMA the entity dimension is still in tact.

    It is unclear what exectly arrived, but looks like a change was made in the dimension entity planning (not EPMA) and then deployed (successfully).

    In essbase, we see that the entity dimension has only one member left for the appropriate plan types, as in the planning.

    If you remove members and then push that yes the essbase data is deleted, if you need back then you will need to go back to your restore process.

  • Resize all pages in a PDF to the same dimensions (height, width)

    I have a big PDF file of several hundred pages in which all the pages have slightly different dimensions. I want to resize these pages in such a way that they will all have the same dimensions. I tried to do it with the crop in Acrobat tool, but if I get all pages in one fell swoop, the resulting dimensions of the page will always be the same for all pages. I can't get page dimensions the same if I harvest each page separately, which is not really fun to do with a 300-page document. Does anyone know if there is a simple way to do this in one fell swoop? I can always crop (rare) pages that do not perfectly match thereafter.
