  I have four devices apple, IMac, IPad, iPhone 4 s & a Mac Book Pro.

  I have problems to understand all of these devices in one way or another that I just are not / can not understand the jargon associated with trying to use to update or modify my needs.

  For example the iMac that I bought at the beginning of the year, I have a separate hard drive, I realized is not password protected, I downloaded the software of Lacie hard drive manufacturing, but I do not see that it works or what to expect, I thought that to have access, you will put in a password like I do when I turn on the iMac not so simple & I lost a whole day on this & finished frustrated as no further, this is the case every time.

  I need some tips on where to start because I don't have anyone to ask what do I escaped my way through.

  I think I need to get back to the basics & get a form any order that these devices are all different but have a purpose.

• BlackBerry smartphones lost my contacts on the phone and cannot get back them.

Simple normally... but this time it wont run something else that XP now, I tried 5 times to reinstall from backup disks to return to Vista and it freezes just the farthest, I managed to get was the installation of updates, but it froze once again to 25% on the portion of the Net framework update.

  If I understand your question; you have installed Win XP on the laptop, but you want to install Vista, but Vista freezes and is slow is it good?

  Do you know when this problem started?  Try a system restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem started.  Here is the procedure: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/.  Don't forget to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points.  If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two.  NOTE: You will need to re - install any software and updates that you have installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for updates.  I hope you have a point to rstore dating back that far.

  If this does not work, go to start / computer / C:\Users\\desktop (and you may also go to C:\Users\All Users\Bureau) and see if they contain elements of your desktop.  If so, copy all files and paste them on your desktop.  You can probably rearrange, but who should return them.

  If this does not work, your user profile may be corrupted.  To fix this use http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows-vista/Fix-a-corrupted-user-profile.  If that is the only available Administrator Profile (you need to be an administrator to fix this), enable the Hidden Administrator Account (HAA) using http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?&lang=en&cr=US&guid=&sloc=en-us&dg=microsoft.public.windows.vista.administration_accounts_passwords&p=1&tid=d20f9db4-7b2c-48be-a087-7835dc2a9055&mid=d20f9db4-7b2c-48be-a087-7835dc2a9055.  If you don't remember the password, try nothing because that's probably what you (or seller) did during the installation.  Once that is done, don't forget to disable the HAA to save it in case it is necessary once again and for safety reasons (since people often try to hack into systems using this account).  Do NOT use the HAA as your administrator account because if you lose the only administrator on the system account or it is damaged again, then you're watered.

Steve Krug wrote this beautiful book titled "Don't make Me Think" that does a good job explaining how Web sites should set their navigation system so that it facilitates the user functionality.

  Please prove me wrong and help solve this problem. If I want a browser with tabs, rounded at the top and a menu button style phone mobile at the top right, I use Chrome. At least their right menu button is functional.
