On the subnet with RV042
Good afternoon friends...
I have the RV042 router, I use that one single Connection Internet, I use the intellectual property of the group like this 192.168.95.x, my DHCP implementation using 192.168.95.120 to 192.168.95.240, but at this moment I have 245 jobs (maybe I'll get 25 additional workstations) and a few times I see conflict IP message in my current job positions.
I had heard about subnet as an answer to my problem, but I'm not sure which and how to make the subnet with my RV042.
Can you give me an idea about this...?
Thank you very much.
Rafael.
Rafael, you can use any subnet you want as 192.168.94.1 the subnet mask 255.255.255.0.

Can someone give an example of how to configure the subnet mask associated with the network and host of an IP address part?

Can connect to with the bad IP and the subnet RVS4000
Hello
I'm relatively new to networking so that post in the forums, please be gentle. I have a strange problem. I tried to update our switch of production over the weekend with a new Gigabit switch. Everything was going well after the change and the network has been a significant change in speed.
But when I came back Internet was down on Monday. So I tried the switch troubleshooting to see if there was a loop or something like that and put in managed mode so I could watch the config page and enjoy the function STP. When you try to access the config page I entered the default IP address in my browser and a connection appear so I tried to connect and she didn't then I noticed that the title of the tab navigator says RVS4000. So out of curiosity I put the creds for the router and here let me the router.
The router has a static IP address and use a different subnet, then the default IP to 192.168.2.1 with switch. I put the old switch and removed a new production, but can still get to the router with IP, it is the static address and address 2.1.
This before everyone knows or knows what I could possibly hurt? The fool is now the switch is made of bricks. I have a new future, but have need solve this problem until I put it into production.
Thanks for any help, sorry for the novel.
Hi Chris, it is possible that someone has set up a VLAN on the router. All ip addresses VLANS are IP management for the unit. You can check the L2 switch of the device tab and this is not the case. You can also verify that the vlan 1 router is that you are pregnant.

Two remote subnets with the same network address
Hello
We have configured on VPN site-to-site ASA remote network 192.168.1.0/24.
New requirement is to set up the new VPN site-to-site (additional) tunnel which also has remote network 192.168.1.0/24.
Will this work 'out-of-the-box"with ASA - ASA will know where to send the traffic based on source AND destination IP address?
Or it will not work and we will have to use double NAT to establish the new tunnel?
TNX
This may be possible with sub condition two.
(1) the two VPN must be on the same interface as the external interface of the ASA
(2) your IP address of end encryption must be different for the two VPN.
As VPN for A client--> access-list-VPN-client license host 10.1.1.1 ip 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0

Everyone is so great on this site I hope you can help. Here goes:
I have 4 computers on my home wireless network. Two laptops (Windows 7 and Mac OS 10) with wireless cards internal computers and two PC (Windows XP) with Linksys wireless adapters. I use an Apple Airport Extreme (model A1254) wireless access point.
Three weeks ago, when Comcast Cable went all digital (I have my internet through them as well), I immediately lost internet access and wireless on all computers, printers and phones VOIP communication.
Because I was getting an IP address of 169.xxx.x.x on my main computer, I was ordered to replace my modem with a 1000BaseT model, replaced all with Cat6 ethernet cables and network card on my main PC with a D - Link 10/100/1000 Mbit / s. Still no internet.
The Apple guy couldn't figure our why I could not connect then we changed my DNS to a public one and all computers, except my computer main, immediately connected server. They are now set to obtain automatically and they are always connected.
When guys Apple plugged my ethernet cable from my main computer at the Airport Extreme, it wouldn't connect and I got a 169 IP address and no address of DNS server. When they connected my ethernet from my Airport to other laptops working, they connected without problem and receive an IP address valid addresses.
They believe that some how the Comcast transition might have changed something with my internet on my PC using Windows XP SP3 since my settings and network settings had been basically the same for 2 years. I have McAfee and Windows Firewall that I turn off when I try to connect.
When I look under connectivity in Information systems, I have 0.0.0.0 to my IP address, dns servers, and the subnet mask
Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
All thanks for the reply. I am happy to say that my internet is working now. After many hours of call Comcast Cable, they sent finally someone who seeks not to "return the ball." There was nothing wrong with some of my equipment. A squirrel had climbed and chewed part of the cable. So it was not much speed going through it, the line was good enough to carry pet food. But with the upgrade, the damaged cable could not manage. I had no problem since the cable has been replaced.
Thank you all

Problems connecting to the internet with my wireless router
I have a WRT54GS v7 wireless router that I use with a modem ADSL ZyXEL P-660R-D1. during installation, I was unable to establish a connection to the internet, once my router is properly connected to my desktop computer and my modem. All the correct lights on my modem and router are turned on. Please help, I tried to turn off the two as instructed by the installation wizard, but who failed to make the internet connection works and I continued the installation process after many attempts. At the end of the installation, he said that my router has been set up, but I don't have an internet connection. What should I do to fix this?
The problem you are experiencing is caused by the fact that you Zyxel and your WRT54GS both try to use the same 192.168.1.x subnet. Your WRT54GS will not work properly if you try to put the same subnet on the LAN ports and the port Internet (WAN). Also to note that the installation wizard will not work in your situation, then stop using it. You will need to manually configure your router.
There are two ways to solve the problem:
Option 1) Change the subnet in the WRT54GS. To do this, follow these steps:
(a) turn off your network
(b) disconnect the WRT54GS of other devices.
(c) connect a single computer via ethernet cable, a LAN on the WRT54GS port
(d) turn on your computer and the WRT54GS
(e) point your browser to 192.168.1.1 and connect to your WRT54GS
(f) change "local IP address" 192.168.2.1, then click the 'Save Settings' button and wait (3 to 60 seconds) of the screen refresh. You will be probably disconnected from the WRT54GS. Don't worry about this.
(g) take out your browser and turn off the WRT54GS and your computer.
(h) then, using an ethernet cable, connect the Zyxel ethernet port to port Internet (WAN) of the WRT54GS.
(i) power of your network. It should work.
You will now access your pages of configuration WRT54GS to 192.168.2.1
Option 2) the other way to solve your problem is to change your Zyxel to 'bridge' mode (You will need to consult your Xyxel user guide, or your ISP website, to find out how to do this). This will convert the Zyxel a real modem, and then he won't get an IP address. After that, you need to configure your WRT54GS to your PPPoE connection for you.
I guess that your Zyxel is a PPPoE connection. If we perform a PPPoA connection, then does not allow Option 2 because your WRT54GS is unable to make a PPPoA connection.
Additional notes:
You don't need to do both options. Choose one or the other.
For a more normal web use including browsing, email, downloads, etc., or another option should work fine. If you are an online gamer, you will probably prefer option 2, because this will make it easier to set up many online games.

What is the problem with my ACL using wildcard characters.
I'm trying to deny little hosts in Cisco ASA however, I got the error why I should use the "subnet mask" for ACL in this firewall. ?

Help, please.
Thank you.
Since you're on a SAA, you cannot use a mask with joker - try to use the subnet mask itself (255.255.255.252). You have the correct generic, but Cisco ASA (or, to my knowledge, some the most of them) do not support masks with joker in the instructions of the ACL. Otherwise, it looks good to me. Let us know how it goes!

need help with VPN IPSEC with RV042
https://supportforums.Cisco.com/docs/doc-30883
I enjoy any support for a trial with RV042 VPN IPSec game please.
Thanks in advance.
Hi Bay, if you use a Windows computer, you can use QuickVPN. The only thing to note is the router that you have as the gateway to the RV042. You must define a port forward for all IPsec services be able to overcome the problems with the NAT device.
RV042 configuration is easy, create a name of user and password and that's it. The problem/challenge will get your NAT connection to allow VPN pass.

VPN is not talk for the subnet behind a remote router
Hi all
I was hitting my head on the wall for a few days everything that is wrong with my configuration ASA...
That's what I got:
AnyConnect vpn (10.10.70.0/24)-online tunnel => ASA5505 performer v9.1.2 (10.10.20.1)-online (10.10.20.2) router (10.10.50.1) 1841-online my environment tour (10.10.50.0/24)
VPN is allowed to authenticate, get an address, ping 10.10.20.0/24 but unable to pass traffic (ping, ftp, etc.) 10.10.50.0 network at all.
Using EIGRP between ASA and 1841, tried static set time 'network' then 'redisturbute' and the ' redisturbute static route-map ", still no luck.
Found several docs, tried, doesn't seem to help...

Help, please...
Attach the configs for the ASA and router
Thank you in advance!
Keith S.
Hi Keith,
You are using IKEv1 or IKEV2.
It comes to your configuration:
crypto dynamic-map SYSTEM_DEFAULT_CRYPTO_MAP 65535 define ikev2 AES256 AES192 AES 3DES ipsec-proposal OF
Crypto-map dynamic outside_dyn_map 20 set transform-set ESP-3DES-SHA ikev1
Crypto-map dynamic outside_dyn_map 20 the value reverse-road
test of dynamic-map 10 crypto-card, the value reverse-road
outside_map card crypto 65535-isakmp dynamic ipsec SYSTEM_DEFAULT_CRYPTO_MAP
outside_map interface card crypto outside
The dynamic map that is applied to the interface is SYSTEM_DEFAULT_CRYPTO_MAP which is an ikev2.
But the question is not the one. Depending on your configuration, there is a runnning between the ASA and the router EIGRP and according to your router table routing does not know where is 10.10.70.0/24 subnet is. To inject the subnet pool VPN in the routing table that we need an arriere-route control that you configured on a card which is not in use. Try this:
Crypto than dynamic-map SYSTEM_DEFAULT_CRYPTO_MAP 65535 Road opposite value.
And let me know if it helps.
Thank you

Twice NAT on Site at the tunnel with the same private networks.
Hello
Currently, I am trying to configure a Site to Site tunnel between an IOS router and an ASA 5505 running 9.1
When deprived of the IOS router subnet was 10.0.0.0/24 and the subnet private SAA was 172.16.1.0/24, it connected properly.
I'm now putting in place where the two private networks is 10.0.0.0/24 and objects network created, edited the ACL for interesting traffic and created the rule of NAT translation and twice, but the tunnels are not coming. I was hoping someone could shed some light on where I'm wrong.
There are route it (R1) IOS and ASA (F2). Between them is an Internet addresses asking the router which is just set up to allow both sides to achieve their WAN.
R1 and F2 have private network (10.0.0.0/24) need to communicate. Twice NAT can be done on the ASA to allow this, but I have to do something wrong. The way I understand it, is that the R1 should see traffic coming from 10.51.0.0/24 and send to this traffic. The ASA will have this traffic and the inside network should see it coming entering as 10.50.0.0/24. If F2's private network communicates with 10.50.0.0/24, and the private network R1 sends traffic to 10.51.0.0/24.
I turned on "Debug crypto ipsec" and "debug crypto isakmp" but no output is appear or give any indication that she is trying to establish anything.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Here in nat rule u use subnet PARTNER_PRIVATE, which is the same as a local, so the devices never send this traffic to the ASA, cause they know that this subnet (10.0.0.0/24) is in their local subnet. Therefore, you must write the nat rule in this way (i.e. the change of objects Web places):
nat (inside, outside) source static PRIVATE PARTNER_VPN_OUTBOUND destination
static PARTNER_VPN_INBOUND PARTNER_PRIVATESo the hosts on the subnet behind ASA will see the hosts on the subnet behind SRI as 10.50.0.0/24 and trying to reach the subnet behind SRI, you must use the 10.50.0.x one-to-one wich addresses correspond to 10.0.0.x it.
In addition, your proxy-acl on asa must use post-nat addresses, which should look like this:
IP 10.51.0.0 allow CRYPTO access list 255.255.255.0 10.0.0.0 255.255.255.0

Cannot ping computers on the subnet remote site vpn while to set up
Hi all
I encountered a problem of site to site vpn for ping answered nothing of machines of remote subnet.
the ipsec tunnel is ok but I can ping the ASA distance inside the interface ip
Here is my scenario:
LAN1 - ASA5510 - ASA5505 - LAN2 - ordinateur_distant
LAN1: 192.168.x.0/24
LAN2: 172.25.88.0/24
remote_machine_ip: 172.25.87.30
LAN1 can ping to ASA5505 inside interface (172.25.88.1)
but cannot ping ordinateur_distant (172.25.87.30)
Inside of the interface ASA5505 can ping ordinateur_distant
LAN2 can ASA5510 ping inside the machines on LAN1 and interface
Is there something I missed?
Thanks much for the reply
I don't think it's something you really want to do.
If you PAT the whole subnet to LAN1 ip (192.168.1.0/24) to 172.25.249.1, then LAN2, will not be able to reach the specific host on LAN1, cause now, you represent the LAN1 network, with a single ip address.
So traffic will become a way from LAN1 can reach LAN2 and get the response of LAN2 through the PAT on 172.25.249.1
But LAN2, is no longer specific hosts LAN1 ip traffic, since you only have 172.25.249.1, to represent the subnet to LAN1.
If you still want to PAT the whole subnet to LAN1 (192.168.1.0/24) ip to 172.25.249.1, then you have to do outside the NAT.

Change the subnet on the network profile
Hello
Like a fool I created 3 network profiles and paths using 16 subnets when they should have been 24. I wonder now to open firewall rules to route to other VLANs in 24 of the subnets. As its 16 and the two first parts are identical i.e. 10.2.X.X they don't route through the firewall
The current VMS I can just go to manually change the subnet assigned to the NIC and they work.
When I look at a network profile to change the subnet - it is greyed out
Is there a way I can change this manually? so that the new virtual machines created with / 24 subnet and exisiting VMs I can manually change
Or is the only way to delete the network profile and start over. How this affect the VMs running other than bulk can try and assign an IP address already in use?
Thank you!
You can try to update the database
Find the name of the profile
SELECT * from StaticIPv4NetworkProfile
the name of the profile update
Update dbo. StaticIPv4NetworkProfile
Set SubnetMaskIPv4 = "255.255.255.0" where StaticIPv4NetworkProfileName = 'YOUR NETWORK PROFILE'
Open the database in SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio) and run the SQL query when it is connected to your database of vRA. He has not supported but will most likely solve your problem.
Or if you are not happy to do this directly through the database, you might try using the vRO vRA plugin and call the vCACEntityManager and update the StaticIPv4NetworkProfiles entity. My guess is the update of the database direct would be easier, but please take a backup and only update the field and nothing else.

Script to change the subnet and vlan.
Hello
Please can anyone help with a script to change the subnet and VLANs on all the esx host in a cluster for the vmotion and management network interface?
Thank you
Astra
I guess it worked because you pasted an out front, so:
Get-Cluster mycluster. Get-VMHost | Get-VMHostNetworkAdapter | where {$_.} PortGroupName - eq "VMotion"} | {} %
Game-VMHostNetworkAdapter - VirtualNic $_ - IP $_. IP - subnet mask "255.255.254.0" - confirm: $false
}I guess that makes still out:
Get-Cluster mycluster. Get-VMHost | Get-VMHostNetworkAdapter | where {$_.} PortGroupName - eq "VMotion"}
2 vmknis right?
If Yes, then it should work I think.

Hi gurus,
Im working on CARS (11.2.0.3) 2 nodes, under RHEL 5.3
I had to update some scan/vip /... and I used documents 276434.1 and 283684.1 for this purpose. Everything worked fine, but when I rebooted both servers I can't start scan, I check the logs and found this:
CRS-2674: beginning of "ora.scan2.vip", the "RAC2' failed
CRS-5017: the action "ora.scan2.vip start" resource has met the following error:
CRS-5009: virtual 192.168.XXX.XXX IP address does not belong to the subnet 192.168.XXX.XXX
. For details, refer to "(:CLSN00107:))" "in ' / u01/app/grid/log/rac1/agent/crsd/orarootagent_root/orarootagent_root.log '.
CRS-2674: beginning of "ora.scan2.vip", the "RAC1' failed

Check if the scan configuration and has obtained subnet, netmask and interface was wrong so I did:
# $GRID_HOME/bin/crsctl modify resource ora.net1.network -attr "USR_ORA_SUBNET=192.168.xxx.xxx"
# $GRID_HOME/bin/crsctl modify resource ora.net1.network -attr "USR_ORA_NETMASK=255.255.xxx.xxx"
But always had bad interface
SCAN name: scanVV, network: 1/192.168.XXX.XXX/255.255.xxx.xxx/eth3 <-should have eth0 rather eth3)
SCAN VIP name: scan1, IP: /scanv3/192.168.XXX.XXX
SCAN VIP name: scan2, IP: /scanv3/192.168.XXX.XXX
SCAN VIP name: scan3, IP: /scanv3/192.168.XXX.XXX
I been looking for but do not know how to change the name of the interface... any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance
How do I change?
I found the answer
When I checked the values of network, I saw:
network config srvctl [oracle@rac2 bin] $
Network exists: 1/192.168.X.X/255.255.XXX. X / eth3, static type
Network: 3/192.168.XXX.XXX/255.255.XXX.XXX/eth0, static type
network 1 should be with the values of the 3 network and vice versa. Default SCAN takes the values of the network 1.
I tried to edit with 'srvctl edit k - 1 s 92.168.XXX.XXX/255.255.XXX.XXX/eth0 network' and 'srvctl change network k - 3 s 192.168.X.X/255.255.XXX. "X / eth3", at this stage, I checked the values of vip/scan /... and has not performed well... everything was down, now I know that I must restart the cluster to get the new configuration after change.
As I does not restart, I was panic and I tried my second option, network configuration delete and recreate with the good:
remove all the network + vip:
[root@rac1]./srvctl remove vip 192.168.X.XXX, 192.168.XXX.XXX, 192.168.XXX.XXX, 192.168.X.XXX f y - v-i
create network + vip with correct network number:
[root@rac1]./srvctl add vip - n RAC1 k 1 - a 192.168.XXX.XXX/255.255.XXX.XXX/eth0
[root@rac1]./srvctl add vip - n RAC2 k 1 - a 192.168.XXX.XXX/255.255.XXX.XXX/eth0
[root@rac1]./srvctl add vip - n RAC1 k - 3-A 192.168.X.XXX/255.255.XXX. X / eth3
[root@rac1]./srvctl add vip - n RAC2 k - 3-A 192.168.X.XXX/255.255.XXX. X / eth3
Now everything works well again. Hope my question will help someone someday

Cannot change the subnet mask of eCard in 7.1.3 (opensuse 11.4)
Had this problem before with 7.0 on suse 11.2, but I forget how I "fixed it". This is quite irritating considering I found nothing on google about this topic. I hope it's just my ignorance with the software and not a real problem, but when I try to change a vmnet as Host-only adapter, I have no option to change the subnet mask. I've seen tutorials where you just have this option, but I did not.
I use a very simple script to make changes to the Infrastructure virtual VMware which are not available on Linux hosts via the virtual network editor in Linux in VMware Workstation version. Note that there may be other ways, but this is what worked for me. Also note that changes to the value of a parameter that is not a correct value will cause failures, and that's why I have the scrip, run the commands with the talkative and check the ifconfig and VMware Network Status before and after you made the changes and you will see that in the attached script.
If you do not have what it takes to use the attached script then in a Terminal root or with sudo:
sudo /usr/bin/vmware-networks --stop -v sudo cp -p /etc/vmware/networking /etc/vmware/networking.backup sudo cp -p /etc/vmware/vmnet1/dhcpd/dhcpd.conf /etc/vmware/vmnet1/dhcpd/dhcpd.conf.backup sudo cp -p /etc/vmware/vmnet8/dhcpd/dhcpd.conf /etc/vmware/vmnet8/dhcpd/dhcpd.conf.backup sudo nano /etc/vmware/networking sudo nano /etc/vmware/vmnet1/dhcpd/dhcpd.conf sudo nano /etc/vmware/vmnet8/dhcpd/dhcpd.conf sudo /usr/bin/vmware-networks --start -v sudo /usr/bin/vmware-netcfg sudo /usr/bin/vmware-networks --start -v
In the attached script, you will see the following note about the use of writing, or why this is done manually:
# NOTE: Load the VMware Virtual Network Editor and then click the OK button. # This is being done for two reasons, one is to validate the settings # and the other is to create a new DHCP_CFG_HASH in the networking file. # # Be sure to review the 'Current Status after editing...' for any errors. echo echo Starting VMware Virtual Network Editor... echo sudo /usr/bin/vmware-netcfg
As I said there may be other ways and VMware is unfortunately very tight secretive about what they do the document to be disclosed to the public, which is unfortunately very little. It is so absurd that the version of Windows is not this limitation but I guess I would really be surprised since removed altogether VMware VMware Player for Linux virtual network editor and does not install it for the VMware Player for Windows even if it's in the Windows Installer Package. Go figure!

I have a lot of DistributedCOM 10016 errors
I use Windows Vista Home Premium 64-Bit. Under administrative events to the Event Viewer, I noticed about 37 000 errors. 22 000 of these errors are the 10016 DistributedCOM. I came across it by chance. I was not aware of them. I tried to figure
