On XP sp3, remove Outlook Express 6,

On XP sp3, remove Outlook Express 6, he can't find in Add/Remove. Even searched the hidden folders. Can't, also tried in programs, accessories, etc. How can it be deleted so that we can try a re - install. ? Currently, OE will not display the text of the messages in the Inbox and will not allow to send new messages.

You can not remove and reinstall OE that is part of your XP operating system. The first thing you should try is a new identity.

You may have a damaged identity especially if it's the default main identity. File | Identities | Add the new identity. Create a new one and try it. If all goes well, you can import your messages and address book from the old identity and delete it.

This gives you essentially a new OE that she would have her own new registry hive. That give it a shot and if that doesn't help, after return with including any error message you get more details.

I have an outlook express in my old laptop and I downloaded all my emails on my hotmail account. I just bought a new laptop and I want to keep these emails. How can I remove them from Outlook Express and store them in the hotmail account?

You can take the data of Outlook Express store and import that into Windows Live Mail.

Windows Live Mail can establish a direct synchronization to a Hotmail account connection (use Outlook Express POP3 which is download-only).

You have posted in a forum for Windows 7. If you want to run Outlook Express on Windows 7, be aware that it is not possible.

But there are many other available e-mail programs that you can run on Windows 7. No need to remove the old accounts Windows XP Outlook Express. Simply install any program you want and set up for your e-mail account.

Among e-mail programs are for sale and some are free. You can download the free Windows Live Mail to Microsoft, but I think it's a bad choice and I do not recommend it. But if you want a free software, feel free to download. install, try several and then continue to one you prefer.

When I try to remedy this, as soon as I type the first letter on the right space bar removes.  If I replace the removed letter next letter deletions and so forth.  Insertion space is omitted, I have to retype the reminder of the correspondence.

  • I need to use another email outside of outlook express, can I remove it?

When I try to reply to an email in a Web page, he's trying to use outlook express.  I can't use it.  I have att and was created after 11, so I can't configure it with outlook.  I can simply remove outlook express?  He'll be back to att or gmail?  Help is a mess.  Oh yes and I run it on xp but I have a w7 as well.

You can not remove Outlook Express because it is part of XP. The problem here is that Craigslist wants you to use a mail client and Webmail not. If the use of Gmail is good to you, see if that helps.

If you make the file Inbox.dbx Read Only, OE does not open yet. Perhaps it is another thing to try.

In OE: Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

With OE closed, find the box of Inbox.dbx. Right-click | Properties and check the read-only attribute.
  • Upgrade to Microsoft 2010 and have now lost all my Outlook Express emails!

    Hello

Yesterday, I upgraded my pc from 2007 to 2010 from microsoft, I had no idea that outlook express is no longer taken in charge & a so don't had not saved anything express before the upgrade.

I used two Outlook + outlook express to run 2 separate email accounts.  How Outlook works well and moved all my old mails/contacts.  Express however is not found, I can't open it.

I have installation the other account on the new perspectives, he transferred the emails from the last 30 days, which lie on the mail server, but nothing beyond that, plus all of my files are missing & what is the most important!

Please help me, I got hundreds of emails that are very important to me and I am in despair that they have all been lost.

    Thank you, Emma

If you use Windows XP (which I assume you're OE does not work on any latest system) then by installing Office does NOT remove Outlook Express.

He can't because Outlook Express is part of Internet Explorer, which is part of Windows.

I think that Outlook has replced just the icon of EO for mail.

    Do a search for msimn.exe

You should find it in c:\program files\outlook express.

Then you can add back a shortcut on your desktop.

  • I want to delete my Outlook Express 6 program from my computer.

    Original title: Ms.

I want to delete my Outlook Express 6 program from my computer.  I don't want no more of this program.  I now use XFinity E-mail and Outlook gets in my way when I train to attach attachments and other things.  How to remove Outlook Express 6 program from my computer?

OE is integrated with XP so you cannot remove it. In the control panel. Add/Remove programs. Add/Remove Windows components, uncheck OE to remove access to it.

Note that if you use Xfinity Webmail, if you try a right click on a file and send to | Recipient of the message, you will get an error message saying: there is no default e-mail program. Webmail is not recognized when you perform this action. You will need to open a new message window, and then attach the file.

  • Outlook Express seems closely related to other programs.

I received a reply that I could remove Outlook Express from my computer, but after checking out, it seems to be part of other Programs from Microsoft.  I'm afraid to remove it - what happens if he messes with other programs?  When I try to reset all the Yahoo, it doesn't give me that option.  He's going only to Outlook Express.  Any suggestions?

You are right that you can't remove OE it's part of IE6 and your XP operating system.

When you click on a mailto link, it looks like a default mail client. Yahoo is only Webmail and not an e-mail client. It may solve your problem though.

  • Problems with mail/outlook express

I use XP Pro 2002 SP3 and Outlook Express 6 on a PC of Prion.  It worked perfectly fine for years. However when I try now to open OE arrive a few different things: -.
    1. opens OK
2 stands on "allow". Connection window will appear - when I click OK it disappears for a second, then re - will appear, and you receive error 0x800CCC92 No. message and error in r.h.corner.
    3. It also happens after that I was connected successfully.
    4. If I "Create Message" and send it (as "Error" is displayed) the message is sent and received new messages are either he starts working again!  Until he came again.

I talked with my server several times and checked that my settings are correct. I use Avast Anti-virus (no problem for several years).  My server suggested that turn off and try again - it made no difference.

I recently bought a new laptop with Windows 7. This disconnect makes no difference.  I don't have Outlook Express installed on the laptop.

  • Windows live mail used compared to outlook express

I prefer windows live mail. How can I remove the outlook express program that keeps popping up from time to time?

    Hi Bobwisda,

Thanks for posting. To remove Outlook Express, follow these steps. Please note that you will need the Windows XP CD to reinstall this component.

    Click Start
    Click on Control Panel
    Double-click Add / Remove programs
Once the icon Add / Remove programs is open, click the Add/Remove Windows components on the left side of the screen.
You should see that outlook Express is listed when the dialog box opens.
Just remove the check mark from the box next to Outlook Express and click on "next".
You will see a progress bar as Outlook Express is being uninstalled, and when it's done, you can simply click Finish.

    Outlook Express has been removed.

    I hope this helps!

Outlook Express broke down.  With Windows XP SP3 can get detailed instructions on how to uninstall and reinstall Outlook with original disc?

OE gives an error message standard it is not correctly installed.  Its a remnant message from OE4 and is false.  You probably corruption with folders.dbx and you should remove it.  See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#7 then, after departures OE you must back up your messages and given the corruption, go to file | Identities and setup a new identity for you give a fresh message store and then you can use file | Import | Messages to bring them from the old identity.
