Open / convert LabView7 VI or Lib in/to Labview 9

Hi, I skimmed through many posts related to backwards compatibility, but I have not found a clear answer/solution.

I have LabView2009 installed on a vista (and windows 7) machine. I'm trying to connect a spectrometer and fight in labview VI. Manufacturers have the LabView screw (a library of screws), written in (attached) LV7. When I tried to open, he has not opened and gave me 2 errors, 1. The llb has been saved with the help of 2 and a different version of windows. Labview9 does not support LV6 since there is no block diagram. Then, more specific question is, is there a way around this? Can I open and run or can I open at least change the VI and then save it in the current version to make it work?

A more general question would be, there is a lot of Lab screw view out there that are written in older versions, are more recent versions of labview REALLY backward compatible? If this isn't the case, then, is it possible around to open and work on one older version screws other than to buy the old version of LV?

Not sure where you looked because I know whenever this question is asked, the answer remains the same. It is impossible to load an old VI in a newer version of LabVIEW if there is no block diagram. There is no way to change any VI without the block diagram. The manufacturer and creator of the VI were distraught when he wrote. Remove the block diagram is stupid. If they wish to protect the code, then it should be password protected. Then it could have been loaded in newer versions. You would not always be able to modify, if. You will need to contact the vendor for a version that will work with 2009 or start from scratch and write the code yourself.

For the older screws which have always block diagrams, you can load anything 6.0 or newer. See this.

  • Open TDMS causes an immediate forced closure of labview

    Hello world

I have just started using TDMS (and labview actually) for the first time. I managed to save data in the TDMS format that can be displayed in Excel using the importer. However if I try to open it in a vi using the TDMSopen, labview and then closes immediately. Next time I start, it offers to retrieve for me and I'm back where I started. I'm doing it just to convert the data and binary (to read by Igor Pro) Igor Wave format. By the way, if I try to use the built in Igor Pro TDMS charger it fails also, citing error DIAdem-6204... but it is perhaps a matter for Igor forums.

Thanks for any help. I spent ages of programming to save data in this format, and it would do the job very well if he could load in Igor Pro or same LabView. I connect two groups of data. I'm streaming to the TDMS file as I write it and then defragment it when I am done with it.

I have attached a piture of my very simple vi - you give a folder and it should load all files TDMS one by one and save them as files binary Igor. It makes no difference if I get rid of the function of the IBW.

    Thanks for any help

    Hi Niall,

Thank you for reporting this issue. There is no execuse for the crash, there defenitely a bug.

But the TDMS file is OK and the way that you play the TDMS file is not very good, and you have a little workaround.

The problem is, the group 'Data' has 6 channels in, and 2 of them are the channel of timestamp data type. When he you a 2D double data type of "TDMS read" wiring, then read covert TDMS all channels of data to double but timestamp channels cannot be converted, I suspect that's where the accident occurred.

You can use this way, as shown in the image, below you can wire a 1 d string array as the names of input to TDMS Read channels, contains only the data type double channels and play them all

  • Open / convert .cwk drawing file into something else than Clarisworks

    Hello

I have a problem and can't seem to find a solution.

I have over 2000 + cards of Member (with images) stored in Clarisworks (.cwk) drawing files. Each file contains 10 cards of members with a photo that could be printed on paper card and laminate to make a membership card. so I have more than 200 of these drawing .cwk files.

I need to be able to open these .cwk files in another program or convert them to another program that is not interrupted so that I can entrust the task of taking every photo, cropping and at a savings. JPG file with the dimensions of the specific pixels.

I can't currently entrust this task as no one can open a .cwk file...

Does anyone know how to open these drawing .cwk files in another program or convert them?  I found ways to open documents to simple text but nothing that can open files of drawing .cwk with embedded images.

I also have access to an old Mac with the program of Clarisworks to open these files... Is it possible to convert it into a usable format more updated using this program?

    See you soon,.

I have something to play with, but I can suggest that if you have a computer OS x can open AppleWorks, you probably can click on the picture, copy it and open preview and place n command to create a new file of the image in the Clipboard, and then save it in a file with the name of the person.

Preview will have the added benefit of saving to any size compatible format and file you want.

A good workflow would be to create an empty (white) image in the right size, the resolution format and file preview and paste it into that. You should get the handles on the image to be able to resize to the borders of files. And then do a record under. Organize a list of parallel text of the names of all card holders, so you can save typing (and errors) to copy and paste into the names of image files.

There may be other solutions you can think of that work better in practice once you have made a few.

  • Now get the "cannot open converter mswrd632.

Getting this code on some but not all documents.

    Packerguy,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers community.

To resolve this issue, an affected user can unregister the mswrd632 converter by editing the registry as follows:

    1. click on Start, click run, type regedit, and then click OK.

    2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Text Converters\Import\MSWord6.wpc

    3. in the Edit menu, click delete.

    4. click on Yes.

    5. exit the registry editor.

This change will actually unregister the converter and disable it for third-party applications and for Microsoft Office. Microsoft Office will use its own text converters to open these types of files.

Please see more information about a security update 973904 KB .

    I hope this helps!

  • How open (convert) my Publisher file in Kompozer?

My website when open with Firefox does not appear with the same (correct) formatting as in IE 8. Can you please tell me where the problem might be? I created using MS Publisher. The site looks very professional in IE8 but rather amatueurish in Firefox

Response that MS Publisher is not really located to create web pages, because it usually generates code VML which works only in IE and not in other browsers like Firefox and can check by looking at the source of the page (view > Page Source). Better using an editor which generates an HTML compliant W3C. Can look at KompoZer which I installed it but how do I open my website for editing?

  • Missing vi.lib in 2012 LabVIEW Run-Time files

    Hello

I have a problem running under RT of VI in LabVIEW 2012.

Our system consists of several independent modules that are open and run from a VI Manager. VI paths to modules are read in a VI Manager .ini file.

We create a single executable file (RT Launcher) who takes the path of the VI Manager as an argument (attachment: RT Launcher.png).

The RT Launcher is placed in the... 2012 as the LabVIEW.exe \National Instruments\LabVIEW dossier.

The RT Launcher is called from the CLI.

    "C:\Program NIUninstaller Instruments\LabVIEW 2012\RT Launcher.exe" "C:\Workspace\Labview\Manager.vi."

This will run the Manager.vi in the runtime environment and the Manager.vi will open the .ini file and run a Module VI.

By calling the Launcher.exe RT from the same folder as the LabVIEW.exe, search paths should be the same.

The system has worked well in LabVIEW 2010.

The VI Manager opens with a broken arrow and the errors indicate that void vi.lib screws are missing (attachment: errors.png Manager VI)

I know that there is code LV2010-> LV2011-> LV2012 compiled cache object and separate questions, but simply could not figure out how to get around this problem.

Can someone explain the difference and how to solve the problem?

    Thank you

    Hi Morten,

I just sent you an e-mail (before I saw your post) with some other information related to this.

About the reproduction looks that you have included a palette in your source distribution file (mnu), that will not work (sorry for not seeing this before).

Could you try to see if it was unintentionally included in your dependendies or whatever it is? The behavior of mnu files is also something that changed from 2010 to 2011, so if you run with the old project of 2010 there could be some bad dependencies. (We recommend always to create a new project when migrating a LabVIEW project to a newer version).

There is a little more information about the error you see everything by creating the distribution source here:

How can I include .mnu files in a built LLB?

  • How to convert a c# executable to an executable LabVIEW

I have a program that was created in c# by an engineer who has left the company.  C# is not widely used among my company, but is LabVIEW so I would like to convert the c# program in a LabVIEW program somehow.  I worked with C language before, but not as .NET, Java, or c#.  I downloaded Studios Visual c# and I can compile the program, change the executable window button sizes, etc..  I'm starting to learn a little more about c#, but I'm starting from scratch.

I am, however, quite familiar with LabVIEW programming and have been using it since version 6.1.  I heard that there is an easy way to access a c# program using LabVIEW, but I had no luck find out how it's done.  In the past, I've created a dll with a C program and consulted the DLLS in LabVIEW, so I might be able to do this with a DLL that I created in c#, but I don't know how to create a DLL in c#.

Could someone help me please to find how to compile a DLL with c# code in Visual Studio 2008 so I can use it in LabVIEW?  I searched online and I always find something that asks me to enter a line at the BACK from "SCC" command prompt, which is not a recognized command.  I was expecting something simpler and more user-friendly.  Otherwise, I would like to know all the shortcuts that are easier to access my c# program through LabVIEW.

Thank you in advance to anyone who is able to help me or at least shed some light on my situation.

I do not understand why you are doing a .NET library instead of a .NET application. I thought that the original goal was to deal with a c# executable. A .NET library is, well, a library, not an executable. Therefore, it does not (normally) a forms or user controls, then there would be controls and management functions to events for controls such as click on the button.

As for your other questions: the controls would be adjusted in the same way as the code that indicates the text box. Simply change the node property to an entry instead of a reading. With regard to the definition of "sender" parameter, in my example, I just created a generic, empty sender. If you want to set this specific control, you need to get a reference to the control (like I did with the text box and use as first parameter of the table build).

What about AutoIt: this is not intended to be used for access to .NET. The point of this is to completely ignore .NET and simply focus on the application as soon as it runs. It uses the low-level Windows API functions to simulate clicking buttons, text boxes setting, reading text boxes, etc. You can write a script and call it from LabVIEW or you can use the ActiveX of AutoIt interface to program the code in LabVIEW. For example, using the example that I had posted, a script that launches the application, click on the button and gets the value of the text box would look like this:

; Launch the application and wait for window to become active
    Run ("Test.exe LabVIEW Test\bin\Debug\LabVIEW")
    WinWaitActive ("Form1", "", 5)
; Click on the button "generate".
    ControlClick ("Form1", "", "[CLASS: WindowsForms10.BUTTON.app.0.378734 a;]") ("[INSTANCE: 2]")
; Get the text from the text box
    $var = ControlGetText ("Form1", "", "[CLASS: WindowsForms10.EDIT.app.0.378734 a;]") ("[INSTANCE: 2]")
MsgBox (0, "Content of the TextBox", $var)

Things '[class... '. ' is the ID of the access controls that are acquired using the AU3Info tool that comes with AutoIt. (In the documentation it says there are several ways to specify the ID.) The method of 'CLASS' is just one of them.) The same thing in LabVIEW would look like this:

Note that this example uses ActiveX because it is the interface that exposes of AutoIt.  It seems a lot easier than .NET stuff.

  • How convert the string in enum by using LabVIEW 7.0

I learned LabVIEW 8.6, but here at work, so we must use the Solaris workstations built in 95, the more advanced version of LV they will work is version 7.0.  On LV8.6, it was very to change a string to an enum using the format 'text' vi.  On LV7.0, is not available.  I made my own conversion from type vi with a structure of the case, but this is very annoying, because every time I add an element to the enum, I must add something to this vi.  I added the verification code so there is a warning if I add to the enum, but don't forget to update of the conversion of the vi errors.  Is it possible to reproduce the "text format" vi, using LV7.0?

The analysis of primitive string will do the job in LV7.0.  Its a darn good idea to create a control of the enum type-def you use! If the constant and the witness are instances of your type definition, when you change the control (add, delete, rename, swap values) you can press the button to change to apply and PRESTO all your commands, constants and indicators that use the def type are updated with new info.

    Hello

    1. Once you get this error code?

2 have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

Try to uninstall and reinstall Java software and check if the problem persists.

    Uninstall the existing JRE software

    a. click on the Windows "Start" button and select "Control Panel". Depending on the configuration of your Start Menu, this point may be located in the folder "Settings."

    b. open utility programs from your system. In Windows Vista or Windows 7, the icon is labeled "Programs & features" or "Uninstall a program" depending on your folder settings. The icon is labeled "Add / Remove Programs" in Windows XP.

    c. find your current installation of Java in the list of programs.

    d. click on the program name, and then click the "Uninstall" in the bar menu to the top of the screen. In Windows XP, click the "Delete" button that appears next to the program name instead.

    e. follow the prompts on the screen to remove the current installation of Java to your computer.

    f. restart your computer after that.

    Install the current JRE software

    a. open a Web browser and navigate to the "Downloads" page on the Java Web site.

    Java download link: http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp

    b. click on the link titled "Windows 7/XP/Vista/2000/2003/2008 offline" and save the file to install JRE on your computer when you are prompted. Close all open windows of the browser once the download is complete.

    c. double-click the icon of the installation file downloaded in the previous step.

    d. click on 'Install' in the first screen of the installer. Depending on your system configuration, you may be presented with a screen that allows you to install optional software, such as the Yahoo! toolbar, after clicking on "install". Check the box next to the name of any program that you want to install the JRE and then click "next".

    e. click 'Close' once the installation process is complete to close the installation program. You correctly reinstalled Java Runtime Environment software.
