Open TDMS causes an immediate forced closure of labview

Hello world

I have just started using TDMS (and labview actually) for the first time. I managed to save data in the TDMS format that can be displayed in Excel using the importer. However if I try to open it in a vi using the TDMSopen, labview and then closes immediately. Next time I start, it offers to retrieve for me and I'm back where I started. I'm doing it just to convert the data and binary (to read by Igor Pro) Igor Wave format. By the way, if I try to use the built in Igor Pro TDMS charger it fails also, citing error DIAdem-6204... but it is perhaps a matter for Igor forums.

Thanks for any help. I spent ages of programming to save data in this format, and it would do the job very well if he could load in Igor Pro or same LabView. I connect two groups of data. I'm streaming to the TDMS file as I write it and then defragment it when I am done with it.

I have attached a piture of my very simple vi - you give a folder and it should load all files TDMS one by one and save them as files binary Igor. It makes no difference if I get rid of the function of the IBW.

Thanks for any help

Niall

Hi Niall,

Thank you for reporting this issue. There is no execuse for the crash, there defenitely a bug.

But the TDMS file is OK and the way that you play the TDMS file is not very good, and you have a little workaround.

The problem is, the group 'Data' has 6 channels in, and 2 of them are the channel of timestamp data type. When he you a 2D double data type of "TDMS read" wiring, then read covert TDMS all channels of data to double but timestamp channels cannot be converted, I suspect that's where the accident occurred.

You can use this way, as shown in the image, below you can wire a 1 d string array as the names of input to TDMS Read channels, contains only the data type double channels and play them all

Operation by default to open TDMS is "open", which requires that the file exists. You might want to try 'open or create' or "create or replace" instead. The default behavior is designed to prevent users from accidentally overwriting existing data.

You store waveforms as "interlaced." Waveforms are by definition not interlaced. You must use tables 2D numerical values for 'interlaced' to actually work. According to the flow of proceeds from your purchase, you may be fine to store non-interlaced data of waveforms.

    Hi philiph90350722,

When you try to send the document for signing, you must select the name of the signatory under the label of role to decide who must sign.

After selecting the two signatories for both fields, it will not ask the same signer to sign for both parties.

Normally, if Firefox crashes consecutively, he will give up trying to restore automatically and display the page "It's embarrassing," with the list of windows and tabs. You can ignore the auto restoration attempt and go directly to this screen by changing the following setting:

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste sess and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    Hello

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A300 - 1 MM and I have a problem with the optical drive (Mat * un DVD Ram Uj880as):

DVD - RAM plateau sometimes refuse to open. The LED lights up briefly, but still nothing. Windows recognize the drive but the plateau of refuses to open. I replaced Win7 32-bit with a 64-bit version and the problem persist.

    Help, please. Thank you.

I have the same machine with Win7 32 bit and use several players. Everything works perfectly. On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what may be the problem. The configuration of your laptop is not known to us, and we don t know how you set up your operating system and additional applications are preinstalled.

Maybe stupid advice now, but you must install recovery image original Vista that you got with the functionality of your laptop and test with the factory settings. If the same problem occurs we can chat about it.

  • Opening of TDMS files larger than 500 MB in LabVIEW

    Hello

We were faced with a problem when opening files TDMS connected using a LabVIEW, PDM Viewer (the vi in palette Advanced TDMS) application, or by creating a new PDM vi player. The recorder app is built using TDMS functions in palette file.

When the TDMS files are everywhere higher than 500 MB or the application hangs or crashes. It can sometimes give full error memory.

I browsed the forum and found the screws to split large TDMS files into smaller files and then open them. The other option is to use NI DIAdem. Currently, we use the option of the tiara. We do not want to modify the application to split the files into smaller sizes.

I'd like to understand why this is happening for files of these formats. I can easily play TDMS of 100 or 200 MB files.

The configuration of the system plays a role in the present? How is it that DIAdem can open the file and cannot LabVIEW?

    Thank you

What I want is to know if upgrade to Win 7 and LV 64-bit will solve this problem, without cut it files each time, or use the TDMS vi Viewer.

More likely since the channel data is placed in a very wide range and fragmentation of memory makes it very hard on 32 bit with LV 32-bit OS. Another thing that could be a problem on your 32 bit LV: display data as it creates a copy of data. So maybe the original data of the channel can hold in memory, but tries to display it sweeps away memory.

Another thing for 32-bit applications is to check the largest block of data you always free. Use tools like VMMap for your request of fragmentation of memory snapshot.

As I wrote already, a generic application 64 bit triggers the limited "insane" values depending on the operating system like Windows 7... still, there are limits.

EDIT: The link of Windows 7 go to the physical memory table on the whole system. This does not reflect the virtual memory available to a single process. Scroll down to the table "and address space limits of memory" a virtual memory figure that can be assigned to a process 64-bit on Win7 x 64. The value is 8 to...

  • Can I set the path in "Open TDMS" via a dialog instead of an explicit definition?

I'm trying to access a file of PDM data with 'TDMS open', but I can't guarantee that it will always be in the same place.  I have code that does what I want with the data file, but I would really like a dialog box that will generate the path.  I would like to be able to navigate to the location of the file and when selected, set the path.

I have seen this in other live (if the path is empty, it asks the file), but not here. Any thoughts on how to reproduce them here?

    Hi Marty,

    ·         What browser do you use?

    ·         It happens only while accessing the Web site specific?

It seems that the sound is either due to some application is running in the background or the website you are browsing is the cause.

I suggest you follow the methods given and check if it helps.

    Method 1

I would say that you can check in the task manager that there is that one instance of the web browser is running if you browse a Web site.

    Method 2

In addition, you can also configure the machine in a clean boot state, and the check is that the problem persists.  Follow the given article to set up the machine in a clean boot state.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: Please make sure that the computer is configured to start as usual according to step 7 of the article: how to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135.

Hope the helps of information. Please post back and we do know.
