Open PDF attachments

My form has a repeatable subform that contains a button two scripts to add attachments and a list (called "attachedfile") box that displays the files attached.  As the subform repeats there is more I can add attachments to their respective list boxes and buttons.  The script seems to work like a charm, but if I try manually view attachments I'm only able to see the last of them.  When I save the PDF file, the names of files in the list boxes disappear and I am only able to open the last file I've attached.  Here's the script for my button to reach, I hope someone can point out my problem.

var

myDoc = Event.Target;

var

sFile = 'MyFile'

myDoc.importDataObject ({cName

: ({ sFile}) ;

var

myDataObject = myDoc.getDataObject (sFile);

var

sFileName = myDataObject.path;

sub9. Table20.Row1.attachedfile.AddItem (sFileName

, sFile);

-gollum

Preserve script changes is not lit.

File-> properties-> Defaults-> Scripting - together "Preserve scripting changes to registration form" to automatically.

    You do not open PDF files in Word. You need a PDF reader.

    Create a file association.

    1. download and save the attachment to the office.
    2. right click on the saved file.
    3. Select: Open with on the shortcut menu.
    4. click on: choose [default] program.
    5 Foxit or Adobe select:
    6. check: always use the selected program to open this type of file.
    7. click on OK.

    This should allow you to open these attachments directly from email address now.

  • The button action to open PDF attachments

    Hello

    I have an interactive form and want to create a button that will open a PDF file that has been added as an attachment. I know I could host this attached PDF somewhere and then use a link or something but I want the user to be able to use this PDF file locally. So I'm NOT looking for a way to add attachments, I'm looking for a way to OPEN attachments existing PDF without the user to open the attachments Panel.

    I can't find a way to do this and I think I have to use a Javascript action to do this.

    any help would be much appreciated

    Thank you

    In fact, no script is needed. There is a built-in way to do.

    Add your button object or a link and then add an action "go to a page view". When the floating window with the 'Set' button will appear, just to double-click the attached file and navigate to the location you want to link to, and then press the Set"" button. Done everything!

  • open pdf attachments in Windows Media Center

    Sometimes I get e-mails with attachments in pdf. When I download these attachments, the Windows Media Center window opens but I don't know how to open the pdf file that has been sent.

    jerryedgar,
    Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Answers forum.

    To open a pdf file, you must have the Adobe Acrobat reader software installed on your computer.  This is a free program that can be downloaded from Adobe here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/otherversions/ remember you select the operating system and the version that you have installed on your computer.

    Once you have Adobe Acrobat reader is installed, all you have to do is double click on the file name to open it.

    For a reason that my laptop has begun trying to open e-mail attachments with pdf and he can't, they are in word and open because of this ICAN t. All ideas

    Because bad "file association" is set to open the .doc

    Start button > Default pPograms > Aossociate a Type of file or Protocol to a program > wait loading > under NAME scroll down and look for .doc, until it clicks > everywhere, look under current by default, it should say either Microsoft Office Word if you have it, or Microsoft Word Viewer...
    Obviously in your case, it says Adobe Reader > at the top, click on Change Program... > scroll down until you find Microsoft Office Word or Microsoft Word Viewer > if you don't see one of them, click on other programs and find > until it clicks > click OK > click on close

  • Registered blackBerry Smartphones not able to open PDF attachments

    Saving attachments (PDF-price lists) in a document on the SD card folder and try to open by navigating to them and select 'Open' from the menu ('Explorer' in the Media Manager), I get an error message that the file cannot be opened. If I open the file as an attachment in the mail application, it opens perfectly.

    Any suggestion how this problem could be solved? It is quite a critical function for me.

    Thanks in advance!

    Uh, it works with vanilla simple PDF? Not the ones you have incorporated into a Word doc?

    No, it isn't. Who taught what was my OP. I tried the doc Word integrating just to see if the other files in attachment formats work. Aparently it's a PDF question.

    But I found here that he cannot work because there is a difference between the device handlesattachments vs how the files saved.

  • Cannot open PDF attachments since the upgrade to Acrobat Reader DC

    I was recently invited to upgrade my Adobe Reader software to the latest version: Adobe Reader DC. Since that I can more open parts attached PDF received emails. I wish I had not updated Adobe Reader - last time I did, I also had problems and had to uninstall the update and reinstall an earlier version.

    Does anyone else have this problem?

    I have attached a screenshot to illustrate what is happening when I either double-click the piece attached or right-click and select 'open '.

    Thank you, James.

    Check that Thunderbird knows the correct program to use.
    Tools > Options > Annexes > Incoming tab

    Content type: Adobe Acrobat Document
    To the right is going to be action - click action see a drop down.
    See if there is a specific mention of using "Adobe Reader DC".
    I know that 'use Adobe Reader' is used for older versions of Adobe Reader DC.

    Click on 'Other use' to see a more extensive list of options.
    If you still can't find, click 'Browse '.
    Then you can locate the *.exe to adobe specific dc and click Open
    Click on 'OK's.

    Test again open a pdf document.

  • Update Acrobat Reader by recommendation of TB, now cannot open pdf attachments, unless I have 'save' on desktop & Add .pdf

    Read other people who have the same or similar questions and I tried their corrections. Has not worked for me.

    Looks like something actually corrupted the file that actually stores the actions of the attachment.

    It might be a good idea to run disk integrity check on your computer. Sometimes this kind of thing can be the first sign has no record other times it's just in the lap of the gods.
