Opening files Labview using Python

I was wondering if anyone knows a way to open a file of many windows and Labview project it using a language like Python script. At the present time, I have to open the project file and then manually open several screws connected to this project file and each of them on their correct screens. I am looking for a way to double-click a file on the desktop and have all the open files and go on their respective screens and be ready to go once I press the Start button. Is this possible?

You end up with open screws that are not "in a project. Simply open screws you can, however, use the same technique to open the project as being the first thing and then open the EIS. If they are in the open project, they appear as part of the project. If they are not in the project, LabVIEW will want to add them to the project.

    Hi Steve,.

    If you are using Vista, go to http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/06/22/reset-and-fix-broken-windows-vista-file-ext-and-type-associations-include-exe-com-sys-zip-lnk-folder-drive/ and scroll down to EXE and click or double-click it to run the program to restore EXE file associations.  Once done, do the same for LNK entry.  That should restore your programs.  If you use Windows 7, go to http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/19449-default-file-type-associations-restore.html. • An application using LabVIEW as a program by default to open files

    Google returned nothing useful on it.  I want to use a LabVIEW application built to open files of data from the Windows desktop. It is easy to modify the Windows registry to set the application as default - but I do not know how to define the event in LabVIEW to open the file.  A bibliography?

    See this - http://labviewwiki.org/Associate_your_own_file_type_with_Windows_Explorer

    I think remember me that people used to say that it has stopped working and that there is a work around, you may need to do some research more on this event.

  • build a Visual Studio C++ 2008 .dll file and use it in labview

    Hello

    A few days I tried to create a .dll with c code file and use it with a call library function node in LabView. But I could never do it with success. I use Visual Studio 2008 and labview 8.6.

    I had a look at some tutorials, but they were written for different versions of Visual Studio. And because I'm a newbie to Visual Studio, it was difficult for me to do in another version the turtrial is written for.  However, I have a lot of experience in programming c for processor atmel (AVR Studio).

    Is there someone who could help me step by step hollow Visual Studio C++ 2008 and later versions also help me configure my call library function node?

    I'm form Switzerland, my English may have a few errors. Sorry for that.

    What I've done so far:

    * I opened VisualStudio 2008 and created a new project.

    * For this I used the model ' class library ' (because I live in Switzerland, I have German versions of visual studio, and labview. So, probably, it is not called exactly "class library" in the English version)

    * The project is created and I can insert my functions.

    * but here I have some difficulties: in my tutorials, they say that a function should be defined as follows:

    type name (arguments) WINAPI

    {

    code

    }

    for example

    unsigned int WINAPI multiply (unsigned char, unsigned char b).

    {

    unsigned int c;

    c = a * b;

    return c;

    }

    but when I try to compile the project I get the errormessage:

    SyntaxError: missing; prior to "multiply".

    * When I remove WINAPI, it creates the dll file

    * but when I try to open this dll with a "call library function node" in labview, I get an errormessage labview, that my multiply function is not found in the dll.

    I'd be happy if someone could help me with this.

    You need adorn your statements with extern "C". LabVIEW manages only the C dll; It cannot manage the C++ dll, which is what you will get if you do not have extern "C". I do not understand why you are trying to use 'stdcall '. For a normal DLL just stick to C-calls.

    The link provided by Red rooster is for Visual C++ 6, which is a very old version. I suggest you look at instead, because it deals with Visual Studio 2005.

  • Open the file by using wildcard characters

    Anyone know how to open a file by using wildcard characters in the name.

    For example, a certain folder will contain a number of files, with the name built as follows:

    CALDB_ then a serial number with 6 digits and then 14 characters, which could be ANYTHING.  so it might look like this

    CALDB_123456_33KA1234567890.txt

    or

    CALDB_123457_33KA1234567890.txt

    The key part of the file name is the serial number of 6 digits that is unique and the CALDB_ which is always the same.

    I would like to use a command file with the name of the file as something like CALDB_123456_*.txt, but it doesn't seem to work.

    Can anyone help?

    Thank you

    Hi Dylan,.

    Along our forum, I searched and found a similar question for the use of wildcards in file selection. An active user (unclebump) has responded to this request with a VI, with which you can select a folder on your computer that is scanned for some files. I adjusted this VI to select CALDB_ files *. You will find this file (zipped), including my attached test folder.

    Maybe it will be useful for your application.

    Best regards
