  Go to http://www.smc.com/index.cfm?event=downloads.doSearchCriteria&localeCode=EN_USA&productCategory=9&modelNumber=1537&partNumber=0&downloadType=1&knowsPartNumber=false and download the driver. You will need your card, part number. He also says it's a SMC1244TX-1. Don't know if it's the same thing as what you have.

  The network port is the port on the laptop (it is not that large - look around) that looks like a large phone connection.

  Looks like you need assistance to remove the folder Windows.old in Windows Vista.

  However, I can not ping-access the correct Media Center by using the user account-profile.

  By default, VMware Fusion sets the prompt to NAT virtual network adapter and you must set it to Bridged so the virtual machine is on the same subnet as the system you are trying to map a shared resource.

  VMware is only a map of Ethernet network wired to the guest regardless of the type of network adapter in the host OS.  If needed/wanted a WiFi adapter in the comments then you will need to provide your own, like a USB WiFi network adapter.  Network adapter WiFi integrated host cannot / will not be seen in the comments.

  I just upgraded from Fusion 2 to 3.

  Overall, it works well except for a Windows 2000 SP4 virtual computer. When I started it OS complained that the VMWare SVGA driver is not compatible. I thought okay - we're going to update VMWare tools. It worked too, but (as usual) I received the message at the end of installation to the effect that the graphics driver must be manually installed. Yet once I went for him... but for the life of me I can't find the CD virtual VMware. Usually it would have been in

  I dcn can't run Windows 2000 on my Mac.    But I run Win2000 VMs VMWare Server and Player.  The video driver installs normally with VMWare Tools in these cases.

  I noticed this on page 24 of the guest operating system guide:

  After you have installed VMware Tools, modify the Windows 2000 screen area to be larger than 640 x 480 pixels; If you do change it, Windows 2000 uses the standard VGA driver, and performance will suffer.

  I would say, try to uninstall tools, restart Windows, and then reinstall the tools.

This means that using merge I cannot use a mac user account? Can I move the windows folder to a location for all to use or y at - it a setting I need to change in Fusion? Maybe, I need to install windows again on his account. If Yes this will cause other potential problems and hog hard disk space unnecessarily. I would prefer merger to the boot camp because I need for windows and mac at the same time. Any help would be appreciated.

  Welcome to the forums!  Yes, you can use XP with multiple users.

  There is some info on this in the Beginner's Guide to VMware Fusion

  Here is an excerpt:

  Only one person can be using the VM to

  a time (and the fast user switching does not count). Suspension (and

  maybe taken snapshot) the VM will probably cause others to not

  be able to use the virtual machine.

  Important: whenever you produce operations (move, copy, edition, deletion, etc.) in a virtual machine, make sure it is turned off and the Fusion is not running. You don't want to change data in Fusion.

  To do this, are the main things you need to do:

  • Move the virtual machine to a shared location for others users can access

  • • An example of this is/Users/Shared /.

  • Change the permissions so that any user can access the virtual machine

  • • In the Finder, select the virtual machine, and then select read the information. Then
      "Ownership and permissions > other" change "read and write".
      (I don't know if you need to do this also for access to the Group). You too
      need to do this for the contents of the virtual machine - do not forget the forest earlier
      on how to get inside a package? And repeat the Get Info
      correction on everything in the bundle

  I have been using fusion (in the unit) without any real problems for a bit.  I decided to start using my windows 8.1 guest and I'll have questions, get the unit to work as it did with my xp and win 7 guests.

  When I choose the display of the unit of the guest only "sees" a monitor. with the other guests, I have had my comments on my second monitor task bar.

  If I reduce the resolution and then try unity again it appear on my main screen with the size reduction...

  any suggestions?

  I have just downloaded Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition and had no problem installing Windows XP and I really don't see this as a matter of VMware Fusion although even if it was I'd go about troubleshooting it as if it were a physical Machine and would start by re-download SQL Server 2005 Express after compensation to any browser cache to make sure that the download was good.  Of course, on a clean at least build, to also have Windows Installer 3.1 and .NET Framework 2 installed first.
