Optical drive DVD - CD (Hitachi HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT30N) not visible in Acer aspire 7741z-4633 64-bit windows 7 laptop

Drive is not detected by Device Manager and it is also absent from the Disk Manager. I deleted and reinstalled the DVD drive and installed the drivers as advertised. Then I inserted a disc of music and everything disappeared.

I checked for driver updates - this is the latest driver - it's firmware.

It was purchased at Walmart.

Help, please!

Also, I found mention of problems between this device and Windows 7 here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-hardware/cd-dvd-drive-missing-or-not-visible-in-computer/895cc2d5-06cf-4d3c-86d9-7816d12528fc.  It was caused, however, by an application that is running when you start Windows 7 preventing to correctly recognize the drive.  See if the thread will help.

I found the drivers here, just in case: http://www.pcpitstop.com/drivers/download/HL-DT-ST~DVDRAM~GT30N.html

  • update my optical drive DVD - RW for Blue Ray

    Hello

I have the HP - dm4. I want to upgrade the optical drive to Ray blue one. Anyone know how to find the correct Blue ray optical drive for the dm4 computer?

    Concerning

Here are the dimensions of the player, 128 (W) x 12.7 (H) x 127 mm (D). The thickness is what may change, but something after 2008 will be 12.7 mm thick. Remove your old drive and I can somewhat guarantee that these dimensions will be the same. The depth is measured with on the cover.

I also did some checking autour and some new very can be even thinner at 9.5 mm thick, check yours and compare with what you're going to buy, but your probably going to be 12.7 mm thick. (thickness is measured at its share of thickness)

Hi, I got a new laptop yesterday, the model is Acer Aspire V3 575 G 73ZZ. I didn't like the 10 preinstalled with windows so I installed a new copy of windows 7 on it. However, once the installation is complete, none of my drivers work. I went looking for the drivers for my model, but they were all for windows 10 and were not compatible with my laptop. I tried to install the drivers wifi during the night, but none of them work on my laptop.

Does anyone know what wifi Drivers to install so it can run on windows 7?

I found the solution to my problem! I did a search on acer and discovered that my device is using Win Driver Atheros Wireless LAN (NFA344) 10 64-bit, so I did a search on Google to find the version of Win 7 64 bit for the driver and came across this page: http://support.lenovo.com/sg/en/downloads/ds105865

Even if the driver is Lenovo, but I ran on my Acer Aspire V3 575 G and it worked perfectly. I am able to connect to the wifi now!

I recently bought a HP G42-230us. I was wondering if I can upgrade the optical drive with a blu - ray player stock? I searched a bit on the internet but had no luck.

Portable SATA optical drives are all the same size, it is because the media are.

It works over there, Windows will automatically install the drivers for you. It was reported that Sony's Blu - ray discs have incompatible driver problems, so avoid the Sony. Samsung and Panasonic are good choices, Toshiba would probably be good too.

My DVD player does not work for quit some time. This is no big problem for me, because one barely use it.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to burn recovery DVD. In my view, it has an option to do a recovery USB drive. It would be a great solution! Unfortunately I do not have the possibility to do so. Is this only possible for computers without an optical drive? Is it possible to download the program with the option to use a USB - stick as in the YouTube video?

You can try to work around the problem, since I'm not sure that Acer was already an eRecovery on windows version 7 which allows to create USB recovery media.

This free software allows you to create a virtual DVD/rw drive and use it to create an iso file, then you can ise this iso file to create a USB stick recovery using rufus:

  • Where can I download a driver 64 bit Windows 7 for hp CDDVDW TS-L633N on my cpq60-615DX

    EDIT-

I forgot to say that I tried to update the driver from the Device Manager device window and the result was a message saying that it could not find a newer driver, installed was correct.

    Another EDIT

Also, I don't say that I uninstalled the device through Device Manager. After the system restarts, the drive was found and software installed but the problem remains.

    --------------------------------------

    Original message follows:

    System: CPQ60-615DX

    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

    Drive: hp CDDVDW TS-L633N

Installing Roxio software, Creator 9, a driver unusable, are part of one, has been installed. Now that the device does not work.

When I see him on the list of devices on Windows Explorer, I went to the Manager of peripheral and found it was marked with the 'problem' icon (exclamation mark on a yellow background).

In the general tab device status box.

A driver (service) for this device has been disabled.  Another driver can provide this functionality. (Code 32)

The following information is displayed for the device:

HP CDDVDW TS - L633N ATA Device Properties windo

    Driver tab:

    HP CDDVDW TS-L633N ATA Device

    Driver provider: Microsoft
    Driver date: 21/06/2006
    Driver version: 6.1.7601.17514
    Digtal signer: Microsoft Windows

    Driver file details:

    Digital signer: not digitally signed

It seems that the creator installation installed the driver but not one that works. It could be a problem with Windows 7, or the fact that this facility is 64-bit.

I searched HP website and cannot find a driver for the device. When I look at the list of drivers available for this system, the optical drive is not displayed.

I downloaded and installed the program to search for the driver HP - or whatever we call it - and he ran. There are no devices listed in tab "Optical Drive" when I looked at the results - he could not 'see' the reader.

I realize that what I need is probably a generic driver of MS, it is why it is not displayed on the HP site, but how do I find the right one for this unit?

Is there a generic 'one size fits all' driver for Windows 7 which can fly this aircraft?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Bob and Simon

    I fixed it.

I hate when someone post a problem and then when they fix what they post only - it - fixed with no details.

Here is how he is now.

Installation, I tried a Sonic product install a driver that is not compatible with Windows 7 64 bit.

I tried several fixes and the problem remains.

I then started a search on the name of the driver file Sonic showing details of the driver for the device - PxHlpa64

    I found this page - http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=34118

Scroll through the text (or search for it)

Remove the problematic filters of your registry:

    2.

    1. create a backup of your registry. See here for how to do it.
    2. download ImgBurn (freeware).
    3. launch ImgBurn and go to tools > filter driver load order...
    4. Select "PxHlpa64". Click to remove the selected filter. Select "ASAPIW2k." Click 'delete the selected filter '. Click OK.
    5 reset.

I had already installed ImgBurn (it's a great piece of software for CD/DVD that will do anything - it isn't a ripper, it is a CD/DVD burning tool)

I have the poster said to do and when I rebooted the system, the problem was gone.

  • Satellite A660 - optical driver turns off when burning DVD

I have a problem with the optical drive of energy saving options that disables the drive while burning.

I tried all the suggestions mentioned here [http://forums.toshiba.com/t5/Satellite-Laptops-A-Series/Optical-drive-automatically-turns-off-due-to-power-saver/td-p/223654], but it does not help.

I start at the burn in Ashampoo Burning Studio free, and he seems to be good until the end. When it starts the process of lead-out the popup of the optical signals Drive Power drive is turned off. It's funny because it is still running at the speed of combustion and it will not stop. The reader becomes unresponsive, even I can't the DVD out. Even, that it disappears from the list of devices.

The only way I thought so far to stop the car and release the DVD is in the shutdown/Hibernate the computer.

Once the dive starts working again the STRANGE Fn-tab functionality started working and I can turn it on/Off/ejection at will.

All the burned DVD - s are not valid, and so far I have not managed to burn a single functional DVD.

    I have a Toshiba Satellite A660 - PSAW3E with Win7 Enterprise 64-bit.

Is there a way to fix this? Remove the optical drive power management?

    Hello

To be honest I have never heard of this issue, but it appears that the optical drive power management is part of the power of Toshiba configuration utility.
Part of the Toshiba value added package configuration done Toshiba power utility.

What you can try, for testing purposes, to remove the Toshiba added value of the system package, restart your computer and try to burn DVDs again to see if the same problem will occur again.

Toshiba value added package contains several tools such as utility cards flash FN so after his withdrawal, you will not be able to use the FN keys. In any case, after that trial, you can download and install Toshiba value added package again.

I mean, I know what kind of conflict is there, but maybe you should consider it.
