Options/general/show my Home Page is broken in version 9.0.1

I searched this topic in Help and the most recent responses were talking about 3 months ago to version 6.01. I have version 9.0.1. In Options/General I selected for when Firefox starts "show my Home Page". One of the other options is "show my windows and tabs from last time" which is what I mean even if I asked my just Firefox homepage see the. What happens on Windows 7 and Ubuntu; However our Mac OsX version 9.0.1 works fine. All of these browsers are synchronized. The tabs I have open, they will open the next time I start Firefox.

Make sure Firefox is closed correctly to avoid opening a session eventually crashed on the next departure.

Try to use "Firefox > Firefox Exit" to close the Firefox application and open tabs and windows.

  • Firefox restore closed tabs when the value "show my home page".

I put the option when Firefox starts: "show my home page". I expect to get a tab open, showing my home page. Instead, I get a bunch of tabs that were open when I closed Firefox during reconfiguration. This includes my home page under the first tab - but maybe it's because that's how things were when you saved the info. I was reconfiguration because I just updated Zone Alarm and, as usual, he fiddled with my settings. (Grrr!)

Found the answer. About: config, browser.startup.homepage had all the tabs that I was getting, not only the page I requested. I put it by clicking on 'current use' from the relevant Panel. Fixed by changing the string for browser.startup.homepage, he likely could be fixed by closing unwanted and then put tabs in homepage again.

  • How to make new tabs show my home page?

When I opened a new tab, I get tiles from sites I visit. I don't want that. When I open a new tab, I want to show my home page. How can I do this?

You can set the new tab page by entering "subject: config" in the address bar. Read the warning carefully, and once you are looking for the "browser.newtab.url" preference to proceed. Change its value to "subject: newtab" to the URL of the page you want to load.

  • This morning when I started Firefox it shows my home page as screwed up as yesterday but Safari has shown as it should look like, what is wrong?

I currently use version 3.6.24 Firefox on my PPC mac with 10.4.11 system. I use Firefox for many years without any problems. I received yesterday and on my screen to alert that there is a new update of Firefox available at the facility. I clicked on OK and the update started. When it's over, I checked and it's the same version, 3.6.24, I used and apparently nothing has changed until I went to my eBay site. Once on my site, I signed in and went to manage my Articles page. The page was different because normally it shows all the items, I have for sale and at the top of the list of points of sale are the three items to check and look at my listings, which I look at you, my profile and my alerts. When you click on one of them you are normally taken to another page. When I went there after apparent installation of the updated release of Firefox page showed my ads in a single column, my profile in another column and third column for my alerts all on one page. This is not normal. I got out and went to my home page which is http://www.rr.com/. Now it was different. Parts of the site have disappeared, the sections with the weather, news, and reviews. I thought it might be the site and then I launched Safari and went to the same page and it is normal. This morning when I started Firefox it shows my home page as screwed up as yesterday. Safari has shown as it should look like. I then started SeaMonkey and it showed the page as it should look like. I really like Firefox and I'd like to get it working again as it should. Would appreciate any suggestions. My email address is [email protected]

  • The page of "Getting started with Mozilla Firefox" continues to load at startup, regardless of settings in the menu options (next to the home page that I select, as appropriate)

This page continues to show only at startup. When I chose a different home page or a blank page in the menu options, it comes to side with them. Nothing about this is mentioned in the options / home page or start section

You can delete all rows in user_pref since this file except the browser by default if you need this setting.

All others are set automatically by Firefox, and should not be in user.js

  • Firefox does not take into account my boot setting to "show my home page".

A few days or weeks, Firefox would begin by showing the tabs open in my last session of my homepage instedad. I am running Firefox v19.0

I tried go to options and check the session for "when firefox starts..." "I tried to change these other values, coming out, and then restarting to change them to something else and restart. I looked at setting the parameters of crash to ask what to do at the start, but it would never invite. I tried to delete the sessionstore.js file (although there is no obvious problem with it). None of them gets by Firefox, eager to resume the previous session.

  • Frfx opens, showing the home page in small icon in the lower bar of Windows 7. But it does not open with a mode full screen. Tried to uninstall and download the most recent. Did not help...

I opened Frefx and shows a small icon of homepage above the bar at the bottom of Win7. But I can't open a whole page or use Firefox. I tried to uninstall and then install a newer version, but this does not solve the problem. Had to go back to IE

You can find your profile folder and start safe mode, manually, without using the inaccessible features.

In Windows 7, your profile folder is usually on a path similar to this:

    \AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\ProfilesyourusernameC:\Users\

This article contains more information on this: profiles | How | Firefox Help. Your profile folder a usually 'default' in the name. Make a copy of this file somewhere safe.

To start Firefox in Mode safe, close all Firefox Windows, and then hold down the SHIFT key and restart Firefox. (I got that from the article, but have not actually tested!) Then you should be able to tick the box "Reset Toolbars and controls."

Alternatively, do you have the menus and toolbars when you started this page in the search box?

    http://dev.jeffersonscher.com/jstest.html

If so, you could do it again and then start mode without failure there.

  • Is there an option that allows me to display my Home Page when a new tab is opened?

Tabbed browsing is great, but when you open a new tab it just opens a blank page. So I have to enter a URL or to perform certain actions to go where I want to go, which is my home page. There is an option to 'Show my home page' when Firefox starts, but I don't see a similar choice when starting new tabs. Anyone know if there is such a thing?

    Choose 1 of these add-ons:

    Module NewTabURL

  • Firefix shows tabs from a previous session despite the sealing to the Home Page or blank Page

When I first start Firefox (31.0), all the previous browsing session tabs are displayed. If you have a few news sites such as home pages, then you get yesterdays new shown to you.

I tried to go options and the setting for "when Firefox starts:" is set to "show my home page". I tried to adjust to "Show a blank page" but it makes no difference, I still get the tabs that were open when I closed the browser.

From Firefox in safe mode makes no difference - I still get the legs of the previous browsing session. I have not recently added additional modules.

How to get back control how Firefox start?

You can check if you have a user.js file in the Firefox profile folder that affects the pref browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once true value.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder currently in use:

  • I can't get rid of the Firefox start page even if I continue to put in my own home page.

Suddenly, earlier today, the Firefox start page appears when I open Firefox. I tried several times to return to my own homepage through TOOLS, OPTIONS or by drag-and - drop. Whenever I get close and reopen, it comes back to its own Start Page for Firefox. I don't want to, I want my own hpmepage.

    Hey Hey,

    Try the following:

    (1) go to Subject: config (type in the address bar).

    (2) enter.

    (3) search browser.startup.homepage.

    (4) this variable controls what page is loaded when you start Firefox.

If its value is Subject: Home, you can change this value on the site that you want to load at startup. If not, try this:

    Citing cor - el:

    ================

Have you checked the target line in the properties of the desktop Firefox shortcut?

    What is the start setting?

Tools > Options > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts":
"Show my windows and tabs from last time"
       "Show my home page"
       "Show a blank page"

    ================

To change this Web site, it opens when you open a new tab, do the same thing but with browser.newtab.url.

If I close firefox and reopen it, it goes to http://rogers.my.yahoo.com/?_bc=1, which is not what I set up for my homepage. When I click on 'tool', 'options', 'general' always happens http://www.rogers.com/smartkey as "show my home page". You can install one of the many Add-ons to achieve this. There are many other different available, then you can simply go to the Firefox Add-ons page and search for "Home Page."

    • Go to Options (e.g., \Firefox\Options\Options);
    • Go to the general tab;
    • Under start - enter the URL in the Home Page URL box.

Whenever I log on fire fox I get last previewed page that I was when I disconnected. I closed all entries before closing the session, but it still does not go to the page that I have as a home page.

    This has happened

Open the Options dialog box, and click the general tab.

Check the setting "when Firefox starts:" and make sure it is set to 'show my home page ".

  • My browser won't stay on commissioning, and home pages I want.

I can't get Firefox (v38.0.5 and earlier) to let my homepage and start empty page set: as soon as I closed and restart it, it comes up with a page of Yahoo! search.
I even tried to change in "subject: config", does not.

Is your start option on "when Firefox starts: display a blank page? And it keeps changing "when Firefox starts: show my Home Page" with a page that you have not selected?

These settings no doubt should not change between the time you exit Firefox and the time that you start it up again. The most common reasons they might do are:

    (1) you have a file user.js in option in your settings that Firefox is discovered and using substitute your preferences on startup.

Please see section user.js our support article technical "How to fix preferences that will not save." By default, Windows hides the .js extension, so if you see a file named user with a type of JScript, which is probably the user.js file. Or to facilitate the task, set Windows to show all file extensions by following the steps in this article: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/wi.../show-hide-file-name-extensions.

    (2) you have the privacy/security/utility software such as Advanced SystemCare that prevents unwanted changes to the settings of the browser (sometimes called protection of homepage).

Try turning off all this software until you have Firefox works correctly. Otherwise, the program will keep undo your changes.

    (3) you have the malicious program or an add-on unwanted which continues to change your startup settings.

This is my procedure suggested to track down and cleaning of the bad modules. I know it seems long, but it's not so bad.

    (A) open the Control Panel, uninstall a program. After the loading of the list, click on the column heading "installed on" to group infections, I mean additions by date. This can help the undisclosed items bundle smoker who snuck out with some software, you have agreed to install. Beware of everything that you don't recognize / remember, since malware often uses sounding names important or innocent to discourage you remove. Out as much garbage as possible here.

B open Firefox page modules using either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons
    • in the Windows "Run" dialog box, type or paste
      firefox.exe "about:addons"

In the left column, click on Plugins. Set essential and unrecognized plugins 'never enable '.

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, in case of doubt, disable (or delete, if possible) not recognized and unwanted extensions. Do not forget that all extensions are optional; no ship with Firefox.

Often, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

    Any improvement?

    (C) you can search the rest of problems with scanning/cleaning tools listed in our technical support article: Troubleshooting Firefox problems caused by malware. These scanners on request are free and take a long time to run. If they end quickly, especially if they require the payment you have a serious infection. I suggest the specialty forums listed in the article in this case.

    Success?
