OptiPlex 760 SSF card Video - options?

I just bought one of these off microcenter to serve as a HTPC.  Still I have not received the computer, so I don't know how the integrated graphic card will perform.  I would like to get a graphics card that has HDMI to simplify connections and may have slightly better video performance (if necessary).  I understand the power that severely limits / if all graphics cards that are available.  Someone had a bit of luck with the installation of a discrete graphics card in their Optiplex SSF?  I was watching a Radeon 5450.  At only $20 after rebate, it is difficult not to if it will work.

Thank you!

I have the Optiplex 745 SFF, but it has a 275 watt PSU and I use the HD 6450.  The HD 5450 should work correctly on your system.  Also mine was only $20 after rebate.

  • Form factor of the graphics cards that work with the Dell Optiplex 760 desktop computer?

    Hello

So I recently got this Dell OptiPlex 760 desktop form factor that I really like and I would get a video card for it.

It's the desktop form factor. The second largest next to the mini tower. There a 240W (or 250?) food I don't want to change. I would like a GPU that works with a supply of 240 w.

I wish it were less than 60 dollars. I do some light games (Minecraft) and want to join a substantial amount of FPS with this game. Suggestions of the card?

    I'll give you more information.

It fits into all THE MODELS except the USFF because USFF has no slots.  You will need to remove the flange size and use the version of low profile.

  • Dell optiplex 990 SSF video / graphics upgrade

I have a dell optiplex 990 ssf with a processor i5, 4 GB ram and 240w psu, my aunt made me for the school this year.  It is perfect to write the Lord's prayer and surf, but I also like to play video games.  I'm sure that the integrated graphics card is not much for games.   As I searched the forums here, I came across a factor of this card as mother to a 25w to the potential limiting pci-e slot limit.  This motherboard has only 2 16 x slots pci-e size and nothing more.  The documentation is clearly what motherboards of the 990 series optiplex has this limitation and that integrated video system is included.  Could you please help me as to what video cards I can use in this testbed?

    Currently my 2 considerations are:

    Radeon HD 6670 1 GB GDDR5 128 bit PCI Express 2.1 x 16 HDCP Ready Low Profile

    or

    Radeon HD 7750 1 GB GDDR5 128 bit PCI Express 3.0 x 16 HDCP Ready

Both are low-power and low footprint.

I'm not on overclocking anything just to use this system for the games moderate occasionally.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi, personally, I have a Dell Optiplex SFF 990, the upgrade you are looking for is the Sapphire 7750 Single Slot low-profile. It performs much better and draws less power (7750 55W 6670 TDP 68W TDP) compared to the 6670.

    Beachmark 6670 and 7750 - http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-hd-7770-7750-benchmark, 3135.html

To add on, there is another additional advantage to free other 16 X (4-Wired) expansion card 1 X Pcie 4 Port Usb 3.0 PCIe slot.

All the less is the configuration that I use and it's perfect for my use.

    I hope that helps!

Q9650 is max.  The BIOS update should be done before attempting to change processor.

750 TI only fits into the TOWER, and only after cutting off support and with ONLY a few cards with 1 fan max aka 8.4 inches.

There are very few simple cards slot.   If one has been in they hacked the support in half or deleted support entirely.  If you remove the bracket on the EVGA models you can use a shears tinsmith to CUT OFF half of the support.  The ventilation openings are blocked, so you may need to drill holes in the case of clear air.  Maps of long with 2 fans DON'T FIT and WILL NEVER FIT in the tower or any other size.

Only a few cards with a few fans to adapt.

One of the things that makes Windows 10 OS allows the creation of a Flash DRIVE with the OS on it.

I tried to set the boot sequence so that at startup F12 I can select the device and after installation of the process that it will restart and boot from the hard drive.

    so far I have

    Edge or USB floppy drive

    USB key

    Edge or CD-Rom USB drive

No matter how I arrange these four options he will not find the usb device and causes a device error or it will find the USB and when it restarts will cause an error.

It does not work correctly when I use a dvd during the process.

Hi natakuc4 thanks for the reply.

10 windows updates after doing the upgrade, you can create an ISO on a bootable USB installation

for this use when you start your machine, you need to select a cd dvd or usb.

I think that Ubuntu that allows also on Linux, but usually use DVD burned iso image.

I have Firefox 13 and real player 15, but the download this video option does not work, under extensions to save browser plugin is disabled, but if active videos do not play in youtube, error occurs, it's major drawback, it works well with IE, but I prefer Firefox so any help to rectify the issue is appreciated.

One possibility is to upgrade to Flash 11.2 and re - activate the Plugin RealPlayer browser Record extension in the Add-ons Manager (Tools > Modules > Extensions) (it's a softblock).

If you need to return to 11.2 Flash you can download Player Flash 11.2 through this direct link:

You must uninstall version 11.3 Flash.

  • Reinstalling Windows XP on a Dell Optiplex 760

    Nice day

I reinstall Windows XP on a Dell Optiplex 760.
The system came preloaded with it, even if the certificate of authenticity (COA) indicates has a license for Windows Vista professional.

Well, I found the answer, it does not require a product key.

If the machine came originally with Vista, and you charged it with Win 7 disc by the same manufacturer, it will go into a grace period and the non-genuine end - the key used for this installation requires data appropriate to the SLIC table in BIOS in order to activate it.

ESP AUDIO Control Panel Soundmax Applet which 'sees' the speakers and the headphones etc plugged into the audio codec or NOT.

The problem is that by default, windows 7 or 8 or 8.1 10 will use a generic HD Audio driver and therefore things like the internal affairs speaker will not work and soundmax Audio ESP does not exist.

The solution is to install the Dell driver and let windows update to decide if the driver needs to update whql.

It is a common problem.   The function Audio ESP asking you what is attached to the port is not enabled in generic win7, win8, pilot win10.  You will also need to install DOTNET 4.0 and Directx June 2010

Before installing this driver.  You must also add the feature back for legacy Live Show on Control Panel.  If you do all the right things in the right order, it will work.  Control Panel, all the elements of the Control Panel, programs and features, windows features, turning on and outside

Then do the check boxes.  You MUST BE online when you do this, because he lament not find features and who need to download them from windows update.

  • OptiPlex 760 reinstall Windows 7

I have an Optiplex 760, which had originally Windows Vista. I bought another Dell from a friend who has installed Windows 7. I used it for a long time, but a year ago, he was struck by lightning. So I used the installation disk, which is Windows 7, to upgrade the Optiplex 760. It worked perfectly, without any problem. About 3 weeks, the motherboard has failed in the Optiplex. I bought a new one and installed it and it wouldn't start. I searched the forum to find answers and more were the same, which, with the help of an operating system Windows 7 on a new motherboard is almost impossible, and it is best to reinstall the OS. I did that last night and it works fine. But now it says my copy of Windows is not genuine and I don't know what to do. I don't have the original PC which had the Windows 7 operating system. I don't know what it was. How can I make my genuine copy of Windows 7? Thank you!!

Strictly speaking, the license is OEM and is not transferable. We could tell you to buy a new license, however, it is cheaper to buy a second hand OptiPlex 780 (superior material) with a Windows 7 Pro OEM license is to buy a retail Windows 7, 8.1 or 10 license...

On the other hand the 760 OptiPlex with Windows Vista was sold just before Windows 7 was released and was entitled to a free upgrade...

The system BIOS revision is A00 (August 26, 2008) and was released before the release of Windows 7. If the system's MBR (non-UEFI) BIOS A16 review (September 3, 2013) the Dell Windows 7 reinstallation DVD turns to this subject:

You need to clean reinstall Windows 7 after update BIOS to A16 or use the program ABR reapply generic Dell OEM Windows 7 System Locked Preinstallation:

An alternative route after updating the BIOS to A16 is to use the Windows Build 10130 Insider as a springboard to make your system a 10 Pro TH2 Windows device:
