It seems that you have enabled the FLASH RECOVERY AREA,

Check the free space, make sure that there is enough free space and then run again.

ALTER system set db_recovery_file_dest_size =;

    Hello
    in 10g R2 I hade the ORA-19809: limit exceeded for error recovery files.
    Then I asked:
    select     name
    ,     floor(space_limit / 1024 / 1024) "Size MB"
    ,     ceil(space_used  / 1024 / 1024) "Used MB"
    from     v$recovery_file_dest
    order by name
    NAME                                                            Size MB    Used MB
    ------------------------------------------------------------ ---------- ----------
    P:\oracle\product\10.2.0/flash_recovery_area                       2048       2048
    then I compressed some of the flashback files and this directory was released about 1 GB. But my query always returns the same result.

    What is the problem with my action?

    Thank you.

    Orders of the OS (like zip or rm) do not change the recommended amount of space. Only Oracle commands like

    RMAN> delete noprompt obsolete;

    do this.

    Kind regards

  • ORA-19809: limit exceeded for file recovery

    Hello

    Following maintenance on our server (battery replacement raid + restart) my database (Oracle 11 g) is no longer available. I m a newbie in Oracle and I've been through the forum and I can t find the solution to my pb, I can fix the error ORA-19809 t since I can t connect to the DB as sysdba, everything I found the solution needs to be connected in sysdba. Please help I have struggled on this for days and I seem to go in the circle at the moment. Here's what I have:

    C:\ > set oracle_sid = APPLICATION

    C:\ > sqlplus/nolog

    SQL > connect / as sysdba

    1 consider changing STRATEGY OF RETENTION of RMAN. If you are using Data Guard

    then consider changing POLICY of DELETE ARCHIVELOG RMAN.

    2 back up files on a tertiary device such as a tape with RMAN

  • ORA-19809 solved but having some doubts

    Friends,

    I solved the error ORA-19809 by issuing the below statement...

    ALTER system set db_recovery_file_dest_size = 3G scope = both

    but after a few days the files from archive will increase...
    can I manually delete the files?
    or I have to delete only through rman?

    I place the rman.
    but my db is in mode archive.
    I do the backup hot.

    How can I solve this problem in the future?

    Thank you

    Manually remove the archive logs?

    Hello
    It seems that your flash recovery area is full.

    To check this, run the following query. It will show the size of the recovery area and how complete it is:
    fixed lines 100
    Col name format a60
    Select name
    floor (space_limit/1024/1024) "size MB"
    ceil (space_used/1024/1024) "used MB"
    v $ recovery_file_dest
    by name
    /
    To resolve this problem, you must expand the flash recovery area or delete some files from it.

    If you have the available disk space, expand the recovery area:

    ALTER system set db_recovery_file_dest_size = scope = both
    /
    To delete the files, you must use RMAN. Manually move or delete files has no effect because oracle will know. Is the obvious choice for backup and remove some log files archive. However, if you usually write your RMAN backups on disk, this could prove difficult. RMAN will attempt to write the backup of the recovery flash... area that is full. You can try to send the backup also using a command like this:

    RMAN target / catalog user/pass@rmancat

    Run {}
    allocate channel t1 type disk;
    backup ARCHIVELOG all delete them input format ' //arch_%d_%u_ %s;
    output channel t1;
    }
    This backup all archive logs files in a directory of your choice and then remove them.

    Kind regards
    Navneet

    The alert.log to the auxiliary database (clonedb) shows:

    Errors in the /u01/app/oracle/diag/rdbms/clonedb/clonedb/trace/clonedb_ora_6129.trc file:
    ORA-19505: impossible to identify the file ' / scratch/oradata/clonedb/datafile/orcl/datafile/system.256.737564331 '.
    ORA-27040: create file error, cannot create the file
    Linux-x86_64 error: 2: no such file or directory

    I fixed the problem by changing the following text in the settings of the clonedb instance file:

    * .db_file_name_convert =('+Data/ORCL/','/Scratch/oradata/clonedb/')
    * .log_file_name_convert =('+Data/ORCL/onlinelog/','/Scratch/oradata/clonedb/logfile/')

    Thank you!

    Hi guy,
    Please configure the tnsnames and auditor of the target and auxiliary.
    That set the script to use OIC to connect in both instances like this:

    connect target sys/test@orcl
    connect auxiliary sys/test@clonedb

    Please after the release.
    Kind regards

    Your disk space or the flash recovery area is full, delete the old archivelogs or backup them and then perform

    rman target /
    crosscheck archivelog all;
    delete expired archivelog all;

    or connect with sqlplus

    sqlplus "/as sysdba"
    show parameter db_recovery_file_dest_size
    alter system set db_recovery_file_dest_size=
    alter system switch logfile;

    Apparently, your file/db01/oradata system supports large files - that's how you happen to have a big current data files. But/db01/backup is a system of different files NOT created and mounted with largefile support.

    Talk to your administrator to AIX to know the difference between the systems/db01/oradata and/db01/backup.

    We find the below workaround.

    The error is corrected by:

    Re-create the table using import-drop-exp.

    OR move the lob in a new tablespace. for example: Alter table move lob(&lob_column) store like (tablespace &tbsp);)

    I use authentication external store and inside my script, I do something like a sqlplus / @MYSECURE_TNS.

    However, when I run a script OS another user as a 'data_loading_user' I get the error: Oracle Database Vault ORA-12578 connection error: TNS:wallet open failed

    I would like to know, how I can activate any user on the local host access the portfolio safe to connect to the database.

    Here my current ENV:

    Hi all

    Tried something out of the blue, that has worked.

    I added the data_loading_user of the user to the group administrator (Group of BONES that created the wallet).

    The I added the read permission to the group, so the permission on the files below were 640:

    # > chmod 640 cwallet.sso

    # > 640ewallet.p12 chmod

    Thank you
