Oracle 11 g database instance is not coming

Hello

I installed Oracle DB 11 g (11.2.0) on windows server 2003.
power has worked very well. Later, according to my requirement product I lit the archiving log and began to run my services product that created more records to the database. During the process of database instance has gone down and her not to come.

I put the following parameter to trun on the archiving log.

ALTER SYSTEM SET DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST = 'C:\app\user\flash_recovery_area\BOOKTST ';
ALTER SYSTEM SET DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST_SIZE = 2G;
ALTER SYSTEM SWITCH LOGFILE;

Please help me solve this problem, oracle DB tnslistener and services are running successfully, but the database instance is not coming.

Thank you
Krishna

    1. Thank you.

    you experience serious problem... because usually it works very well.

    Try the following:

    SQL > shutdown immediate;

    SQL > bootable media.

    SQL > alter flashback database;

    SQL > alter database backup controlfile to trace noresetlogs;

    SQL > shutdown immediate;

    go to the trace file generated from running (alter database backup controlfile to trace noresetlogs ;)

    location of the trace file is located in the query:

    SQL > select * from v$ diag_info;

    It will contain the script with the SQL commands, you can rename the file with the extension ".sql".

    SQL > startup nomount

    SQL > @trace_file. SQL

    SQL > restore database;

    SQL > alter database open;

    So basically you are going to recreate the files of control again...

  • Listener (and the database instance) does not start automatically: ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently of service requested in connect descriptor

    Hi all... I am a newbie with oracle database.,.

    I have the problem of monitoring:

    I installed Oracle Database 11 g R2 XE on my CentOS 6.5 guest operating system.

    I changed the host name in my CentOS so (where installed oracle 11g R2 XE) after the installation was completed successfully.

    Installation-) before and during the hostname is localhost.

    (-) After the installation, I changed the host name in VMCentOS

    From the moment where I changed the host name, nothing starts automatically. In particular, the listener and the database instance does not start automatically.

    When I start the listener manually and I try to connect to the instance of database with SQLPLUS I get this error:

    ORA-12514: TNS:listener is not currently of service requested in connect descriptor

    I think that the problem is due host name changed because I have to test and debug the object, re-installed a machine virtual operating system CentOS, re-installed oracle database 11 g and I do not have this problem. The database instance and the listener starts automatically!

    Can someone tell me if, maybe, the problem is with the host has changed? ... and why?

    P.S.: After changing the hostname I also modified the listener.ora and the tnsnames.ora by changing the HOST with the correct host name.

    Hello

    It seems that you don't install Oracle Database Express Edition (XE). If you post this question in the wrong forum.

    When you install EA or there is no script that starts the database at startup.

    If you wish, you can create by yourself. For example search for instructions to Google how to create script.

    Kind regards

  • Can not find the file init for the database instance

    I have installed Oracle 10 g under Linux CentOS, run netca to create listener.ora and tnsnames.ora files, then I run dbca to create the myodb database and orcl instance.

    Now when I run dbstart, in the boot log, that it is said that he could not find the file orcl example init. so that the database myodb, he says:

    < em > / oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/bin/dbstart: database instance "myodb' hot began.

    < /em > my questions:

    1. why it is said when I run dbstart both myodb & orcl are instances of database, I created myodb as the General database, while orcl corresponds to the instance, here it says:

    instance of < em > data treatment "orcl": journal file /oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/startup.log

    Database instance "myodb' of treatment: save the /oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/startup.log file

    < /em > is the name of the General database is considered an instance itself and can be used alternatively with the instance of word?

    2 when I created the database using dbca, I made the password for users of SYSTEM & SYS.

    When I try to connect to sqlplus using the system/mypassword, here it says:

    < strong > < em > ORA-01034: ORACLE is not available

    ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist

    Linux error: 2: no such file or directory < /em > < / strong >

    3. the database myodb started but it is not mentioned in my tnsnames file or the listener, while one mentioned is orcl has not begun, how is it? I know I'm missing a dir for /orcl in/oracle/home/admin, something that we find for the myodb, where there is/oracle/home/admin/myodb/pfile/init file.

    How can I fix this?

    4. What is the use of the command sql, < strong > edit < facilities > system registry, told me in another thread to connect to an idle instance with sqlplus and run this command, here what I got:

    < em > ERROR on line 1:

    ORA-01034: ORACLE not available

    < /em > 5 - can I just rely on the name of the General database and forget the thing of the Forum? I'm just confused about the difference and do not know how the orcl instance was created, it has not been created with dbca, because when I run dbca he says it's already there, create another instance, so I commented the sid parameter and now I amn't during its creation and how to retrieve its files if I need to re - create it again.

    Note: it is located in the bash_profile as $ORACLE_SID = orcl, why it's the only game, while General MYODB database name is not set, can be there rather than on the instance or SID in the bash_profile?

    Sorry for the many questions, this is the thing of the instance and their related discipline, I appreciate your help.

    Thanks in advance.

    If you have only 1 instance "orcl" then the oratab file should have only 1 entry - only for "orcl". Along, only one instance "myodb" {with the db_name "myodb"} must be started.
    The database Instance is identified by the SID - IE the ORACLE_SID.

    Normally, the SID and DB_NAME are the same - and they do like default value is the same when you run dbca. You have changed probably manually the db_name in dbca.

    If the listener is running on port 1521 and is started before the database instance, the database instance automatically saves with the listener. If the listener is started after the database instance, and then the command 'ALTER SYSTEM REGISTER' in the database instance indicates PMON to register with the listener.
    If you do not want to depend on the automatic check of the database with the listener instance, then you can include the information database (SID!) in the listener.ora. In addition, which would be caused if the listener is not on the default port 1521.

    See my posting in this thread: oracle sid and database the name of for more notes.

    A database can contain multiple schemas - each schema is a different database account. In other implementations of database (non-Oracle), what is called a "database", it is called a 'plan' in Oracle - but that is created as a database account. Database accounts are listed in DBA_USERS - if a user "owns" objects, it's a 'plan', otherwise, it is only a user. {Oracle also provides a CREATE SCHEMA command to create multiple objects in a single command.}

  • Oracle instance does not start

    Hello

    I set config the memory_max_target of the B instance, by change of 600M to 500M, the instance does not start.

    I tried to start instance by

    > sqlplus/nolog

    > conn / as sysdba

    > stop immediately

    > startup pfile = d: \testparam.ora

    then it turn to the starting instance A, may I know how to change the setting of 500 M to 600 M of the B instance memory?

    Thank you.

    Try simple:

    sqlplus / as sysdba

    create a pfile='/tmp/init.ora' of spfile;

    "exit";

    It should work even if the instance is down (and ASM). If you are on 12 c and your spfile is on ASM only you must specify the location of the spfile (as it appears initially in $ORACLE_HOME/dbs).

    This pfile file can be edited with the correct settings and you can recreate the spfile.

  • Can a database instance cause several database schemas?

    Since coming from SQL Server I have red the concept of the Forum and got a little confused with the instance, schema, tablespace concept.

    If I get it up to now, Oracle has several layers.

    Database instances are as independent SQL servers started from the Oracle server.

    Each database instance can contain different data bases. OR a database is not owned by a histance, the mountain just a (confused about this)

    Each database can have different storage spaces.

    I created this pixture comparison, something like that?

    http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/7639/jv3z.jpg

    • a single instance can open a database only
    • on the other hand, a database can be opened by multiple instances on different servers in a clustered (RAC) environment
    • a database can have mutiple patterns (that's what SS called "database")
    • Each schema has objects that reside in one or more storage space (a single object is always 1 tablespace)
    • A tablespace is just a logical container
    • A tablespace is composed of one or more data files.

    are you sure that you are specifying instance name for the correct instance to start?
    # srvctl start instance d MYRAC-i MYRAC1
    And what OS user you used?
    It should be the same group that owns the instance of database/database, it can be Oracle?

    What did you see in the alert.log to instance 1 IE MYRAC1?

    If nothing helps, try to start it manually.
    For example
    Su - oracle
    $export ORACLE_HOME = database home
    $export ORACLE_SID = your instance sid
    $sqlplus / as sysdba
    SQL > startup

    The alert.log see if everything goes well

  • Oracle sid and database name

    Hi guys,.

    I'm a bit confused by the name ORACLE_SID and database. I understand that an instance may be attached to a database, and that a database can be attached to multiple instances.

    Essentially, when we set the values in our init.ora, we set the values of the instance, or the database, or is it a mixture? that is the instance and the database to which it can connect?

    Also, the DB_NAME parameter that specifies what database, the instance can connect to?

    And why does it say in the [Oracle documentation | http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10501_01/server.920/a96521/create.htm#1003921] which the DB_NAME initialization parameter value must match the SID setting. I thought that they should not be the same?

    Thank you

    1. a DATABASE is the physics of files - data files for tablespaces (SYSTEM, UNDO, TEMP, USERDATA, USERINDEXES etc.), controlfile (s), redolog files and possibly the archivedlog files.

    2. an INSTANCE is the set of processes that access the database. So, when you start an Instance, you start background processes that allow users to access the files of database.

    3. a DATABASE can have multiple INSTANCES in a configuration of OPS/PAP. Thus, each Instance is configured with a different name - the ORACLE_SID maps the processes of the Instance, the Instance name is the name for the process. (1 single database accesses an Instance)

    4. a listener allows connections when not coming not from the same ORACLE_HOME. The listener starts for a database Instance (via the inputs the listener.ora) or the database records with the listener running (when PMON updates the default listener or "local_listener").

    5. users (ApplicationServers etc.) connect to the INSTANCE, not in the database. Users access the Instance of the SID mapping directly or via a listener. If you have access to via a listener, they specify a SID or a SERVICE_NAME in their connection settings.

    I understand that an instance may be attached to a database, and that a database can be attached to multiple instances.

    Can access an Instance (I would use 'access' rather than 'attach') 1 single database. However, a database available under multiple instances. (In any case, a database is not attach to an instance - this is the mechanism that opens the database files - access).

    When we set the values in our init.ora, we set the values of the instance, or the database, or is it a mixture?

    We put them to the Instance. (It's the ControlFile who really knows the database!

    what the DB_NAME parameter that specifies what database, the instance can connect to?

    If the 'db_name' specified in the init.ora does not match the database name, you get an error and can not access the database.

    Why do we say in the Oracle documentation...

    It is a recommendation and is not mandatory.

    Think about what happens when you CLONE a database. You can CLONE a database to a different instance name, and then change the DB_NAME after a successful RECOVERY and RESETLOGS OPEN (for example that dbca is when it creates a database of preconfigured for you: he one of the clones and then renames the database).
    So, I can clone of database 'PROD_A' ("PROD_A' ORACLE_SID) and ORACLE_SID"TEST_A"during the RESTORE process and to RECOVER the DB_NAME to"TEST_A"remains"PROD_A"until I have recreate the ControlFiles and rename the database"TEST_A ".

    (And we don't start talking about GLOBAL_NAME and SERVICE names-find you on them to confuse you more!)

  • JumpStartKit installation hangs at 87% complete when creating the database / instance configuration

    Hello people, I am wanting to evaluate Oracle WebCenter Portal 11.1.1.8 (huge improvement over 11.1.1.7, which I have already given a quick test in the VDI provided by Oracle).

    So, I've discovered this Jump Start Kit that installs every needed part once you have a properly configured Linux environment. I had fun with the prereqs but now that everything is finished and I am so EXCITED to make it past 'STAGE 4 '.

    So now, I encounter the same problem during installation - STEP 6 of 22 Configuration of the database Instance (creating database filling) it gets 87% complete and then nothing seems to happen, it never beyond this point, even if I wait 10 hours more:

    ***

    NOTE: I think that my problem is not specific to the "Jump Start Kit", but is rather something others have met during the stage of creation/configuration of the Oracle Universal Installer in general database. And I hope that others have solved.

    ***

    "/ opt/oracle/portal" is my INSTALL_DIR; I had started the installer of JSK with this command:

    . / runme INSTANCE_PASSWORD textile ROOT_PASSWORD = rpwd DOWNLOAD_DIR = = / media/sf_Downloads/JSKfiles INSTALL_DIR = / opt/oracle/portal

    -L' installer makes this well before it seems to get "stuck" - even after many hours there is no change, HD does nothing, CPU stays at < 5% use:

    I use VirtualBox on Windows 7, I tried several times, first with the OS as Oracle Linux 6, then Oracle Linux 5 (learning to update the version of Java of fun!).

    It always happens at the same point, and then it just seems do nothing - no progress, but no error no message on the screen (see below the log files). But it seems to use less than 5%... the use of the processor and 10 hours of waiting makes no difference.

    After that I got tons of Google to search, I tried increasing my paging file, adding more memory and disk space (12 GB of RAM and 10 GB sap) and 20 GB of free space on the hard disk, but still nothing has changed.

    In post #2 of this thread, I'll give you separately the registration details that I hope will be useful.

    Thanks in advance!

    Darren.

    PS: Moderator, I tried to create this thread in other spaces, because I did not know this 'Portal JSK' specific one, which is why my son was rejected? NO REASON WAS GIVEN. If that IS the reason why, I must say that it will be almost impossible for anyone who is able to help me actually FIND this thread here because as I said I don't think specific for ONLY JSK portal. (But I'll post it here just in case this is the reason for previous releases)

    Hey Darren -.

    Installation with installation "office" is not the problem - no conflicting package it.

    I did add a short and FULL in/etc/hosts domain name and use the HTTP_SERVER_NAME option.  (But again, that shouldn't cause any problems during dbca.)

    I didn't install VBox extensions, since I'm just using a text installation (and created a corresponding configuration for VBox and vSphere), but I don't know that this is unrelated to all the.

    Regarding packages, if the database installs fine (which did you), your packages may very well.

    Here is my kickstart file - maybe you can try to use it, and then we can rule out configuration problems.  After the kickstart, everything I do is copy the installation files (in fact, I have them on a separate vmdk I just ride), and:

    (in oracle)

    CD/mnt/orainst/install & mkdir WCPortal_JSK_Linux.x 86-64 & WCPortal_JSK_Linux.x 86-64 cd & unzip /WCPortal_JSK_Linux.x86-64.zip...

    CD /mnt/orainst/install/WCPortal_JSK_Linux.x86-64 &. / runme DOWNLOAD_DIR = / mnt/orainst/installation INSTALL_DIR = / u01/app/oracle/product/webcenter HTTP_SERVER_NAME = wcportal.localdomain INSTANCE_PASSWORD = weblogic1 BIENVENUE1 = ROOT_PASSWORD

    If you want to make a desktop installation, delete the text, skipx and office packages (I added a few comments around that part), and it should work fine.  Don't worry about VBox extensions until you have a JSK running successfully.

    Fingers crossed it gets you more... Let me know.

  • Login page is not coming

    Hi all

    We try to clone the Oracle EBS 11i. DB is on linux and Conc nodes system and Apps are under IBM AIX, respectively.

    Env PROD also has the same configurtion. Cloning is successfully completed. whenever I try to connect to the login page using the browser, login page is not coming.

    Suppose that when I give the http:/host.domainname/, Apache page url is not coming. Everything starts fine and I n ' see no error in quickly to open one session other than the resumption of normal operations.

    I would like to say one thing here that public ip address of the database is not to ping the application server queries, but db virtual ip's ping requests. This is the cause of the problem.

    When I give only hostname in http://fnclbkp.UAT.com , it displays no page found. Apache atleast page should appear.

    I guess the problem is with the ping command.

    Details of the env

    Version of DB - 11.2.0.4

    DB Os - Linux

    Version of apps - 11.5.10.2

    Apps for AIX operating system - IBM

    Please suggest.

    Thank you

    Sarah,

    When I give only hostname in http://fnclbkp.uat.com , it's show no page found. Apache atleast page should appear.

    Have you tried with ip addess http://:

    Customer is able to ping the IP. IP address database public physics isn't to ping the application server queries. Otherwise, it's to ping across queries.

    Customer is able to ping to fnclbkp.uat.com ?

    ping fnclbkp
    ping fnclbkp.uat.com
