Oracle BPM 11g - a book, resource on best practices?

Hello all, I need start an application with Oracle 11g BPM, for this I need to read best practices to run this kind of implementation, integration ADF 11 g / BPM 11 g, is there a book or resource online to talk about this?, please if you know all the resources, please comment.

Hi Carlos,

You've probably seen these but my top 3 books of 11g Oracle BPM would be:

1 getting Started with Oracle BPM Suite 11 GR 1 material - A Hands on Tutorial - what is very well written and I think is the best for new people to start.  I love that it covers the entire suite in depth.  The instructions are clear and well written, but get a bit dated (it was written for the PS3 and we're currently on PS6).  This also covers the basics of the integration of the ADF you're looking for.

2 oracle BPM Suite 11 g: Advanced Topics BPMN - Mark Nelson has been one of the authors on this.  Anything by mark, I will read.  This book fills in some areas that are difficult to learn yourself.

3 oracle Business Process Management Suite 11 g Handbook - a little misread in some places, but has more information and best practices in some areas.

Hope this helps,

Dan

    Hello

Even I faced the same problem, but got the workaround.

Please go the the below mentioned link and download the zip files.

http://www.Oracle.com/ocom/groups/public/@OTN/documents/WEBCONTENT/156082.XML and download the Oracle BPM Studio 11 g and Oracle SOA Composite Editor
Now, go to help-> Check for update-> click on install to local file and provide the path of the zip file that you downloaded in the previous step.
Finally restart the jdeveloper. You can now see the suite BPM and SOA suite in your application.

    Hope this will help you.

  • Deployment location of jar < resource >.  Best practices?

    Hello

I have my JWS application works very well. I am now at the stage of deployment.

My question boils down to what is the best place to deploy jar files which requires that the java web start app?

At the moment I have a file already existing in the WAR and I created a new directory in the WAR file that contains the jws application-specific jar files.

Tomcat so now, I have something very typical like that when my-web-app (not his real name!) WAR has exploded:

    webapps\my-web-app
    webapps\my-web-app\META-INF
    webapps\my-web-app\WEB-INF

but with an extra folder that would hold the java webstart special pots:

    webapps\my-web-app\my-TJ-app\lib

It works very well - during the generation of Ant I can copy all jars needed for my ma-jws-app/lib folder, sign and add the folder to the my-web - app.war. Everything is good.

In the JNLP file I have something like this:

    < jar href="my-web-app/my-jws-app/lib/fast-md5-2.6.2.jar"/ >
    < jar href="my-web-app/my-jws-app/lib/forms-1.3.0.jar"/ >
    < href jar...

I wonder now if if it is the best way to do it. One issue is that, by default, the files jar would be accessible if a user typed in http://somehwhere.com/my-web-app/my-jws-app/lib/fast-md5-2.6.2.jar where as if they were in the webapps\my-web-app\WEB-INF\lib folder that they wouldn't.

The problem is that if I put necessary pots for the application of TJS in the folder \WEB-INF\lib it becomes a bit of a mess of the jars for different purposes, which some would be signed for jws, others do not. I also currently generate the JNLP file on the fly in a Servlet and therefore to build the list of bribes required by obtaining the ServletContext.getResourcePaths for mon-TJ-app\lib folder. If all the pots were in the folder \WEB-INF\lib I'd probably have to hardcode in the Servlet the necessary jars for java web start app.

Maybe I should create a specific web - start.war-, but I prefer not to do this? How did someone else deploy their resources from jar TJS?

    See you soon

Although you want to protect your pots from beeing downloaded... but somehow the jars are really needed by the client to run the application.
So why should you care that anyone can access these JAR files to simply enter the URL in the browser that points directly to the JAR?
I mean any user that runs the Java Webstart application will download (programmatically) by the JNLP. So after this time, the file is the disk of each customer. Any user can now go to their temporary Internet files and unzip the POT to see the content.

The rule is simple: don't put any confidential of data/passwords / auth - stuff in the JAR!

What we do for example to protect/auth, is that we initialize the WebStart application in its init with a SessionToken method.
You can pass the arguments-init in the JNLP file.
So deliver you each time a different JNLP file that contains a session token in the init arguments to validate the customer when he join your remote services (if you have).
I think that the creation of the JNLP file with a servlet / on request is a common usage scenario (and also in the way you want to bring some session variables / auth stuff in the client).

  • Good resources on Oracle BPM Suite 11 g

    Hello

I have a good knowledge, but also work experience on SOA & Oracle SOA Suite 11 g.
Now, I've decided to learn Oracle BPM Suite 11 g.

Would you please suggest me the best resource for this.
I started going through Oracle BPM Suite 11 g manual. The book is good, but I just want to know if there is another resource/book is better than that.

    Concerning
    RaviKiran.

I think you'll find "Getting Started With Oracle BPM Suite 11 g R1: a tutorial" to be most useful as you're getting started. The only problem with it is that it was written a few years ago using 11.1.1.4. Some of the screenshots is different in the current version and it does not include the new features added in the 11.1.1.5 feature pack.

  • Oracle BPM 10gR 3-Oracle SOA Suite 11g

I'm not sure that some body else already asked.

I produced Oracle BPM in production which is fine and happy with the way it works. Its developed from Version: 10.3.1.0.0 build: 100364 #. We use custom JSP, JavaComponent, etc. GRANDPA in this.

We are thinking of migrating to SOA to Oracle 11g Suite.

Is there any tool for that? If this isn't the case, nothing provided for?

Do we need to re - write our application BPM from 10 g to 11 g? What all parties might need to re - write?

To answer your question in the right way, I fear that there is no direct migration path of OBPM 10 g to Oracle SOA Suite 11 g. You will need to write to us - many things like

    1. the present of the BPM API are not public. If u will be something like GRANDPA as OBPM
    2. There is no support for PBL/Java in Oracle 11 g BPM. However, if you want to use the custom Java component you can use BPEL or spring with BPM. After all, each component is packed inside a single composite.
    3. it is recommended to have all of the dashboards and UI user developed with ADF if you are with Oracle SOA Suite 11 g but even if you have a JSP that shouldn't be a problem.

This topic has been discussed a few days in this forum. You can find the thread here

  • 1Z0-054: Oracle Database 11g Performance Tuning Expert

I intend to give the exam 1z0-054 for the certification, "Oracle Database 11g Performance Tuning Expert".

The path to Certification indicates that, if you are 'OCP DBA 11 g' then you can directly take this article and there is no requirement for training instructor. Therefore, I decided to prepare my own. Can someone guide me on study material and landfills?

    Kind regards

Therefore, I decided to prepare my own. Can someone guide me on study material and landfills?

First of all, the word "shock" has a precise meaning. It is short for "landfills of brain", which are illegal and can cost you this certification and all others you have taken.

    http://blogs.Oracle.com/certification/entry/0477

Second - there is currently no study guide or a specific book to this certification at the moment. I write the study guides and this one is actually next on my list when I finished the current book to * 1Z0-117: Oracle Database 11 g Release 2: SQL Tuning *. I have a guide for 1Z0 - 054 before sometime in may more likely. That said, I have a few links for legal study on the companion Web site material for my series of guide to the subjects for this exam. It also has links to the Oracle documentation that contains the information you need. Once I have started writing the book review, links will develop quickly because I research for her themes and links to the documentation could extend as well.

There would be a minimal downtime. 11202 onwards upgrades would be out of place so the downtime would be less compared to previous versions. Please visit the following link and download the slides for the upgrade and the upgrade migration group of Oracle Corp.

Try this. Using SQLPlus, bump the 'process' parameter (with apologies to Heidi to cut out of the book):

    SQL > show parameter session
    SQL > show parameter processes
    SQL > alter system reset sessions scope = spfile sid ='* ';

  • The CPU is not powerful enough for Oracle database 11g?

The CPU is not powerful enough for Oracle database 11g?

I installed the datatase Oracle 11 g on my host by using the default configuration of oracle yesterday. Today, I find some the alert message: "CPU usage is 86,79%, through attention (80) or critical (95) threshold.» The average value of the CPU usage is 80.85% and I have to wait for more than 10 seconds for opening a page of the EM.
My host is HP workstation xw4200. CPU is 3.4 GHz. No other applications on that host.
I want to know: what is the main reason for the shortage of CPU resources? Because the database Oracle 11g itself is exhausting CPU or because there are a few configuration issues?

    qkc wrote:
1 is it true that most of the CPU is exhausted by the EM control tool?

    It's quite possible.

It is also one of the reasons why we encourage people to drop EM Database Console and switch to EM Grid Control. The burden is then on another server.

    2. why this index has been added in advance by Oracle Corporation? It does not seem that each tool is set up perfectly in advance.

It was probably not required under ideal conditions, in which it has been designed and tested.

Why is your environment not identical to the designed conditions that use Oracle? ;-)
