  • The connection manager interface

    Hi all

    I'm just around trying with the Oracle connection manager. The reason is I want to use it as a firewall to dynamically enable our developers access to our databases of production. Now, I'm looking for a way to add and remove the list of rules dynamically. First I thought that I could script using cmctl, but then I realized that cmctl has no command to add/remove the rules at cman.ora

    Is it mayby any other way to dynamically add/remove the rules? The Administration should be made by people who don't know much about IT, so I have to provide them with a tool for that kind of work.

    Thanks in advance

    I wrote my own script to manage the connection manager

    Thanks anyway

  • Troubleshooting Connection Manager

    Hey, I try to configure the oracle connection manager.
    I installed the connection via the Universal Installer

    Then, I created a cman.ora in $TNS_ADMIN with the following content:
    cman1 =
    (CONFIGURATION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = tcp)(HOST=172.17.12.143) (PORT = 1521))
    (RULE_LIST =
    (RULE =
    (SRC = *) (DST = *) (SRV = *) (ACT = accept)
    (ACTION_LIST = (aut = off) (moct = 0)(mct=0) (mit = 0)(conn_stats=on))
    (RULE = (SRC = sles11-rac) (DST = 127.0.0.1)(SRV=*) (= accept ACT))
    )
    )
    )

    Also, I edited the tnsnames.ora:

    cman1 =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = 172.17.12.143)(PORT = 1521))
    )
    )

    Then I start the connection manager:

    CMCTL > administer cman1
    Cman1 of current instance is not yet started
    Check the connections (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = tcp)(HOST=172.17.12.143) (PORT = 1521)).
    The command completed successfully.
    CMCTL:cman1 > start
    AMT-04012: could not start the Oracle Connection Manager instance.
    CMCTL:cman1 >

    Where is the error?

    Two ideas:

    1 DST = 127.0.0.1 seems suspicious to me. It should be the computer name or IP address of the machine.
    However, in the future, Oracle should ban the IP hard.
    2 cman works without cman.ora can you try to start without him?

  • How to connect to Oracle Enterprise Manager 10 g Database Control have SYSDBA?

    Hello

    I installed Oracle 10.2.0 (Enterprise Edition) on my laptop at home. And with SQL * Plus, I login as sys and created a user Charles (with the password pwd), and I granted the DBA role to this user. SQL * more messages saying that the user has been created and the role (the DBA role has been granted). When I log on to Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Database Control as a user Charles (with the password pwd that I gave to the creation of the user) as usual (in the 'Connect as' drop-down), I check that the Charles user has DBA profile. My problem is that when I try to connect to Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Database Control as a user Charles (with the pwd password that I gave to the creation of the user) and as SYSBA+, one error message is displayed: your user name and/or password is not valid.
    Please, how do I connect to to Oracle Enterprise Manager 10 g Database Control as a user Charles (with the password pwd that I gave to the creation of the user), but as SYSDBA?

    Thanks in advance for your answers.

    Hey guys I have change the password as follows given sysman...

    1 stop control of the database using Emctl stop dbconsole.
    2. connect to sqlplus with sysdba privilege.
    3. change the sysman password using "modify user sysman identified by password '.
    4 output sqlplus.
    5. go in the directory $ORACLE_HOME/sysman/config /.
    6. find the emoms.properties.emca file and modify it.
    7. change the values of the following parameters
    eml.mntr.emdRepPwd = new_password

  • Access to the XML schemas from the connection manager?

    The connection manager for a connection opened in version 4 is no longer an 'XML Schémas' icon (Java and XML patterns seem to have been deleted between versions 3 and 4). Is there a definition that can return the XML schemas?

    Using lists yet... »

    XML schemas

    XML schemas are definitions of schema, written in XML, that describe the structure and various other semantics of XML instance documents. For conceptual and information on the use of XML schemas, see the Guide of Oracle XML DB Developer in the Oracle database documentation library.

    You can change an XML schema by right clicking in the connections Navigator XML schema name and selecting open from the menu. You can delete a selected schema by selecting the Drop Schema menu. » ...

    The XML node drawings missing in the connections Navigator is a known issue for the 4.0.1.  The 4.0.2 patch is a fix.

    Regarding the Java node, it seems to me in all versions 4.0.x.  Maybe your Preferences... > Database > Navigation filter turned it off?

  • Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) 12 c Cloud Control is broken after a reboot

    People,

    I use Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) 12 c Cloud Control version 12.1.0.3.  It was all work until we rebooted the box.

    Now, nothing is listening on the port 7801 more (by netstat), but if I put port 7302 instead in the browser's address bar, it'll take me actually to the OEM login page.  Once I'm connected, many things show that there are problems with communication between WHO and the agents.

    The shutdown process was not very successful and cleaning, shown below.  There was a lot of java still running process that I had to kill.

    Departure WebTier...

    WebTier started successfully

    Oracle Management Server started successfully

    Management Server Oracle is in place

    This seems like a simple question, because we didn't change anything except adding memory to the box and restart.

    Is there anyone experiencing the same problem?  Is there any solution to this?

    Brian

    Brian,

    Can you access the console on https://oraaux1:7801 / em now?

    And, you are able to start the agent by running $AGENT_HOME/bin/emctl status agent?

    Regarding your initial post, is also the repository on the same host? If so, the problem could be due to the repository database was not entirely upwards when WHO launched on the reboot of the host system (gcstartup) startup script.

    When the SGC does not work as expected, you can take a look at SGD/monitoring of log files for clues. If necessary, please see:

  • management of the PDBs with Oracle Enterprise Manager Express

    Hello

    is 12 c, possible to manage the PDBs with Oracle Enterprise Manager Express?

    I have not seen.

    Thank you.

    is 12 c, possible to manage the PDBs with Oracle Enterprise Manager Express?

    Yes - but you will not have the COMPLETE management functionality. See the FAQ doc:

    http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/database/manageability/emx-CDB-1965987.html

    Can I Plug and unplug the PDBs with EM Express?

    No, EM Express does not all CBD management capabilities in DB 12.1.0.1.0.

    Review ALL sections of doc

    How to find the URL?

    When I run select dbms_xdb_config.gethttpsport (double); on a PDB file, it returns no rows.

    Have you set up EM and set the port to the PDB? Again - see the FAQ doc

    http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/database/manageability/emx-intro-1965965.html#A5

    How can I configure EM Express on CBD and APB?

    Users can configure EM Express at the root and container of the PDB, with each container using another HTTP/HTTPS port.  When it is connected to the root container, the information displayed are the entire database, including all PDB files.  When it is connected to a PDB file, displayed information is limited to the PDB data.  For more information, see the section on EM Express on the CBD.

    Hello

    appreciate your help and your advice on this matter.

    I have a box of Oracle VM configured with windows 2008 R2 Server OS.

    Installed Oracle Database 11g, created a database instance and set the requirements to install more Oracle Enterprise Manager 12 c.

    Every time when I reboot my Windows Server 2008, I have a very hard time from the SGD server

    do a few permutations and combinations for the start of services and get the login page of EM 12 c

    Below error is more frequently encountered:-

    OracleManagementServer_EMGC_OMS1_1-> fails to start after several attempts.

    Also, I tried to stop webtier and restart who.

    emctl stop who and then run emctl start SGD

    This model was used to work earlier, somehow its not working as on this day.

    Technically, I'm not a database / Enterprise Manager Administration background - but an Automation tester.

    I checked and found that the hostname_dbname folder is not available at the location of $ORACLE_HOME.

    Please let me know how this problem can be solved.

    Grateful for your assistance.

    Kind regards

    You run emctl off $ORACLE_HOME/bin (which would begin control of single instance database tool), instead of run emctl off $OMS_HOME/bin (which begins OEM 12 c Cloud Control).

    Run the following: $OMS_HOME/bin/emctl start SGD
