Oracle DB 11 g OracleEnterpriseLinux 5.4 2 (Windows XP VMware guest operating system)

Hello

I have Windows XP (host system) running Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.4 as guest operating system in VMWare 2.0. I followed the steps explained in [Tim Hall - Oracle-Base | http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/11g/OracleDB11gR2InstallationOnEnterpriseLinux5.php] and seem to have gotten all the steps correctly and successfully until the final. Then, I also found the following questions. Please let me know if you have encountered these problems and know the solution:

----------
H5. Installation of Oracle Enterprise Manager error
Oracle Enterprise Manager (em) is not installed. Got an error message, then a warning in the installation process asking me to look at the log, but did not find much info about her.

How can I install Oracle Enterprise manager? *
Status: resolved
Until_
I got the bad environment variables. Fixed $ORACLE_HOME. Used emca db rest recreate / create. Get an error or another.
Solution:_
removed the SYSMAN account. Some synonyms and issued the following command
emca -deconfig dbcontrol db
emca -config dbcontrol db -repos recreate
The repository is created successfully.
----------
H5. Unrecognized SQLPLUS to other users
I could access the database by Oracle user, I have to add another user to the OINSTALL group, so that I can access through SQLPLUS? From the SQLPLUS command now that other users are not recognized at all. I need to log in as questions SQLPLUS to access DB and oracle.

How can I access under SQLPLUS as other users? *
Status: resolved
Solution:_
Define oraenv. Run on the shell.
. oraenv
and you can run sqlplus and sqlplus command will be honored.
---------
H5. NOT accessible from Windows
I can't access Windows. I need to use PuTTy and connect as 'oracle' (Unix user) and access it via SQLPLUS. The fact that I am able to connect through the PuTTY for Windows and the possibility to access the Apache Web server (running on port 80) lacked access oracle port 1521 intrigues me.

How can access Windows (using SQLPLUS or Oracle SQL Developer)? *
Status: resolved
Solution:_
earpiece not working. I started it with
lsnrctl start
and I'm done. I am now able to connect through SQL Developer.
---------

H4. Remarks on the lookout
Check your environment variables. If you have trouble, it is difficult to correct.
Read the bloody error logs. They have all the necessary information to set.

Thanks a lot for, phiri. Well enough, he has resolved these questions. Nearly 60 positions, I thought I need to drop the DB and recreate everything, he pulled it like a magic. Happy to have him here. :)
Thanks in advance.

  • Migration oracle db user of an operating system to any other user of system operating in an environment of rhel 6 with oracle 11.2.0.3.0

    Hi all

Migration of oracle db user of an operating system to any other user of system operating in an environment of rhel 6 with oracle 11.2.0.3.0.

Suppose I have a database running with os user user1

I have another user user2 where I want the database runs and not on User1

Please let me know how to achieve this goal,

    Thank you.

Have you looked on the MOS for this?

I thought to do exactly this, but ultimately I didn't actually accomplish. Despite the fact, it may be an interesting feature...

    Something like this:

S ' ensure that two users are members of the same groups

    -Database stop

-As the former owner, change the ownership of all files in Oracle Home, inventory of the Oracle and all data files, to the new. On Linux/Unix, only the owner (and root) can change the ownership of files, so all files/directories not belonging is not to the former user, will obtain authorization refuses, legitimately so. The new user for example cannot 'take' the files, because they are not his. Only the old can 'give' files. Of course, root can do as well, if you have this permission.

-Configure the new user to set up the environment correctly (ORACLE_HOME,..)

    -Start of the database

-Do NOT remove the old user of the system, but do not give him a different password

    That's what I think

  • Another study (debian operating system) or Oracle XE

    Hello

I'm a little lost. I would like to install an edition of Oracle database on my laptop, what operating system is Debian. However, it is not possible. Indeed, all packages are .rpm. So, I tried to ask for some advice. Someone told me I should install another version (Enterprise edition), but it doesn't seem to be safe (he said: "it would be free to do what you want"). I am a young student who wants to work at home on languages such as PL/SQL and triggers. So, I knocked on begging for help here. It would be great if you could give me good advice. What would you do?

    Thank you for your help

    Kind regards

PS: If the only way is to change the operating system, what would you use? CentOs or Fedora? I want to install it on my laptop with other applications like Eclipse, Tomcat, XAMP.

It's in the manual above. Please read it.

You can install in any desired point of installation/directory. Oracle does not give a flying fig this topic. Just put it somewhere that makes sense.

    It will not help.

    Why?
    You asked "+ I want to know if Oracle 11 g (11.1.0.7). "support of RHEL 5 +".
The doc I linked earlier, you can read:
' + This is the operating system for Oracle Database 11g Release 1 requirements +:
    +...+
    "+ Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 +".
It's the answer to your question. Now, if you have changed your question regarding the certification of the matrix, the best way is to check the following, help you:
    1. the Certification support Oracle (http://support.oracle.com) - non-free tool
2 see the corresponding documentation (http://docs.oracle.com and search for the desired db version and the OS installation documentation)-free

    >

SSH is not a technology allowing to connect to databases.

You will need to install an Oracle client on the Linux server, implemented a tnsnames.ora file that includes the necessary connection information for the database of Windows Server.

See the Linux 11 g Client install Guides here - http://www.oracle.com/pls/db111/portal.portal_db?selected=11&frame=

Then read through the 11 g Net Services (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/network.111/b28316/toc.htm) Administrator's Guide for an overview of connectivity.
