  My environment is oracle database 9i in windows server 2003, we want to move to Windows 2012 since the end of support for windows 2003.

  Given the version of your database is 9.2.0.8 and you want to upgrade to 11.2.0.4 and 9i database is running with log mode archive

  (1) your database 9i working with the log mode archive Server 2003

  (2) you can take backup of Database 9i with RMAN

  (3) you can restore the backup to the base in 2008 (by using 11.2.0.4 software)

  (4) when the recovery is complete, you can open the database with resetlogs option upgrade.

  change the upgrade of open database resetlog.

  (5) once the database is open, you can run 'Upgrade PROCESS'

  (6) it should complete your upgrade in 2008

  If you think, restoration and recovery will take time, so you can install physics Eve with 11.2.0.4 version in 2008 for the Database 9i.

  During failover, you can recreate the controlfile and open the database ' change the upgrade of database open resetlog. "

  The indicator for OAM ID Asserter is required for single sign on functionality, whatever it is, the problem, seems to be communication with the DNS server, which makes a delay that could be verified using traceroute and ping commands.

  This delay caused the connection failure to the OID server during initialization of JPS.

  As a solution, thefully qualified hostname to OID server has been configured manually to the file/etc/hosts. After this change, JPS can be initialized correctly.

  Howerver, that the log shows no time-out or any other exception during the initialziation, making diagnosis difficult to obtain.

• Is the version of the output parameter 32 bits 12.1.0.2 Oracle ODBC driver truncating values a known issue?

  We test 12.1.0.2 Oracle and ODBC see problems with the stored procedure being cut output parameter values and Associates when we use the 12.1.0.2 driver (we use the 32-bit version). We see a function sequence error every time that happens, too.

  For example, a stored procedure takes a NVARCHAR2 name and it out as a separate NVARCHAR2 output parameter. Using the 12.1.0.2 of the ODBC driver, if we "Basketball", the output can be "Basketball" (with a function sequence error).

  What is happening to many of our stored procedures. We do not get the errors of sequence of function or output truncated if parameters we use the 12.1.0.1 version of the ODBC driver to connect to our 12.1.0.2 database, or if we use the version 11.2.0.4 or 11.2.0.2 ODBC driver.

  Is this a known problem in the 12.1.0.2 ODBC driver?

  Welcome to Oracle Forms!  Out of curiosity, what do you mean by 'new '?  You are a student or new to an organization that uses Oracle Forms?  Or just play with Oracle Forms to learn something new?

  Let me start by saying that many of your questions designtime can answer by searching in the help of the constructor of the form library.  It's accessible, like most of the other products in the Builder menu > help.

  Regarding your question, ENTER QUERY mode, as the term implies, is when it is in a State where it is accept input for the execution of a query.  When in this mode, there are various restrictions.  Yet once, it will find more details in the Builder Help.  In this case, search help for these two subjects, "SYSTEM." MODE'and "built-ins comments that are not allowed in the input query Mode".  There are many other pages that contain information about the ENTER_QUERY method, but these two should help you get started.

  Normal mode, as its name implies, is when it is in a State of 'normal '.  Basically to do nothing in particular, but also not in ENTER QUERY mode.  In this State, you can move the shape, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, documents, etc..

We are in doubt if a Tuxedo domain to 12.1.1.1 version have access or a way to use the queues deployed in another area Tuxedo to version 6.00 or higher. If so? How does it work?

  Other questions are what concerns the advantages and disadvantages to have a queue by queue space or the queue of more than one in a single space in the queue? the reason why we ask, we realized that our client development environment and production environment are made slightly different. In the development environment, there is a space in the queue and the queues are in there but in the production environment has created a space of the queue for each queue.

  About the interoperability/q, I know exactly what you are trying to accomplish.  If it is really several areas, then it should not be a problem.  / Q use the servers TMQUEUE access to the queues/q.  These TMQUEUE servers are accessed through a service name that is the same as the name of queue/q.  He tpenqueue() and tpdequeue() API just call a service under the name of the queue under the covers.  If you can bear/q on several areas important name space of expectation as a service name in the configuration of the domain gateway.  We support connections between the different versions of Tuxedo, it "should" work, which means that the customer or you need to test this first.  Make sense?

  Regarding the queues by queue space, I think it is largely a question of scalability.  Each queue has one or more servers TMQUEUE who manages the space in the queue including all queues.  So if you have a single space with 5 cocks in it and a single server TMQUEUE queue, you can manage maximum simultaneous operations for queues 1/q.  You had defined the 5 lines each in a separate queue space, then each would have its own server TMQUEUE which means you could service 5/waiting queue of requests simultaneously.

  I'm trying to build a cluster ON / OFF on Windows Server 2008 R2 x 64 using integrated security. The Oracle DB I install is EE 10.2.0.5.

  I have Oracle 10.2.0.4 and Patch 10.2 . 0.5 so install Oracle, it seems not to be a problem. The problem is with Failsafe.

  I downloaded the version 3.4.2 because with version 4, I can not add 10g (I can't upgrade to 11 or 12) DBs.

  I ask you, is there a good way to build infrastructure because I'm having a LOT of trouble to install everything?

  I have to install Oracle DB using local administrator because my domain account (which has Admin rights) cannot.

  I have to use my domain account to manage the Cluster because the local administrator cannot.

  I am all confused and it does not work everytime I try to add a resource to integrated security.

  So I need something like a short list to understand the correct sequence to install. Something like:

  Step 1: Install Failsafe on both nodes using Local Admin

  Step 2: install Oracle EE on both nodes using Local Admin

  Step 3: Create DB on the first node using Domain Admin

  Ok! Found the solution. And of course it was a Windows problem and not Oracle. I just had to go to "Control Panel"-> account-> user account (Yes, 2 times)-> change user account control settings and put the bar you on the left to never notify. Restart the server and here! More no popups for administrator rights!

  What do you mean by "port number"? HTTP port (usually 8080), or listening port (normally 1521)?

  If forms work in the local network, then you can exclude problem in Forms Server or Oracle Application as a whole actually.

  The question should be certain access privileges, and you will need to work with the VPN administrator.

  Please note:

  Cannot launch the forms in E-Business when you access via VPN: Formslauncher Notinited (Doc ID 471120.1)

  I have installed Oracle 64-bit server in my Linux box. The 64-bit client is sure to be installed also. But for some reason, I need to install the 32-bit client on the same machine and do the job as well as the 64-bit client.
  I downloaded the 32-bit package and installed successfully with the user ora32. Run the root.sh to implement the approx... The user who installed the original oracle server is oracle.
  
  For the oracle user, I was able to connect to the server.

  I m using Oracle Forms 10 and I tried to import a jar file that was compiled in java 1.6. Therefore, the import has failed with the following exception:
  "Exception occurred: java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: HelloWorld (unsupported major.minor version 50.0).
  
  After some research, I discovered that the problem is that Oracle forms use default java 1.4.2.
  
  I was wondering how to change Oracle forms to java 1.4 to java 1.6.

  Hello Dina,

  Regarding your question, you have two options to overcome:

  1 - stay with 10 g version of forms and recompile the class in the version 1.4 of java, compatible with the java Forms 10.1.2 importer.
  2. upgrade to version Forms 11 g, which uses the java version 1.6.
