Orchestrator compatible with vSphere 4.1 4.2

Hi, I installed Orchestrator 4.2. I'm trying to set it up with vsphere 4.1. But I do not see this option/plugin for confiure it.

I saved my orchestratir of 4.1 config file and imported into orchestrator 4.2.

SSH (1.0.5)

Mail (1.1.1)

vCenter Server (5.0.0)

All the plugins mentioned above are disabled.

Thanks for the help!

Go to "plugins" - article in the configuration on the Web and check if the plugins are enabled / activated.

Maybe they are installed at the next restart of the service vCO.

Also check if the username/password of the plugin configuration name are correct (on the same page in the Configurator)

See you soon,.

  • Will vcloud Director 5.5 compatible with vsphere 5.1U1?

    Hey,.

We vSphere 5.1U1 running in production and we look at vCloud Director 5.5 for the deployment. But VMware does not have a virtual Director 5.1 appliance and we do not want to buy a server, Redhat enterprise server (we could upgrade vSphere 5.1u1 soon, but due the Veem, we cannot now). Since VMware provides the virtual appliance for vCloud Director 5.5, so I got this question that I can't answer in VMware documents:

Will vCloud Director 5.5 compatible with vSphere 5.1U1?

    Thank you

    / S

Yes vCloud Director 5.5 is compatible with vSphere 5.1U1.

  • What version of VMware View is compatible with vSphere 5.1?

    Greetings,

I checked the compatibility tables and I watched that indicated that no version of VMware View was compatible with vSphere 5.1.

    Tom

You will have to wait until VMware releases a hotfix or an update that is compatible with vSphere 5.1. Usually short gap between the release of vSphere and a compatible version of the view.

  • vCLI for Linux is not compatible with vSphere 5.1?

I installed vSphere CLI 5.1 64-bit on CentOS 64-bit 6.3.  The problem I have is that if I try to run resxtop on a 5.1 ESXi host, I get the error:

Connection failed, reason: HTTPS_CA_FILE or HTTPS_CA_DIR not set.

So I export the following environment variables:

    export PERL_LWP_SSL_CA_FILE="/etc/pki/tls/certs/ca-bundle.crt".

    export HTTPS_CA_FILE="/etc/pki/tls/certs/ca-bundle.crt".

However, I still get the same error when I try to run resxtop.  I even tried to modify the module for SSLeay perl directly, but it does not help with vCLI.

Connection failed, reason: HTTPS_CA_FILE or HTTPS_CA_DIR not set.

Here's the thing.  If I do my own perl script to test the connection to the host via SSL, it works and hope the certificate.  Also if I don't have openssl s_client-connect it returns 0 so that the certificate works.  That is the question in vCLI 5.1 release notes seem to suggest that resxtop is not compatible with the 5.1 ESXi hosts.  Is it possible?  It seems that it would be a big gap. Here's the exact quote:

  • resxtop fails to run against targets of vSphere
When you run resxtop against a target of vSphere 5.1, an error occurs.

    • If the SSL certificate is defined in the client vCLI, results in the following error:
      SSL Exception: Verification parameters
    • If the SSL certificate is not set, the error message following the result:
Login failed, reason: HTTPS_CA_FILE or HTTPS_CA_DIR not set

Solution: If your environment supports it, run esxtop in the Shell of ESXi. Otherwise, no work around.

Is - this average resxtop is not all compatible with ESXi 5.1?

  • Hi djsupreme,.

The last 5.1 vCLI which includes resxtop is compatible with ESXi 5.1, but unfortunately there was a bug introduced that now requires the validation of SSL certificates (it was supposed to be an indicator not required & optional) when executing against an ESXi host. As Matt mentioned, it is a known problem that we are currently working.

To successfully connect to a 5.1 ESXi host using the last resxtop, you will need to actually set two environmental variables:

HTTPS_CA_FILE and HTTPS_CA_DIR, this is not a statement 'or' as shown in the error message but was originally intended to direct the user to check that these variables ENV could be configured by Miss. It is necessary that you define two variables.

Here is an example in my lab environment after establishing a properl SSL certificate, to say that your CA file is located in /home/vi-admin/cacaert.pem

Then you run the following command:

    export HTTPS_CA_FILE = cacert.pem

    Export HTTPS_CA_DIR = / home/vi-admin

Then, you will be able to use the resxtop command to connect remotely to your 5.1 ESXi host:

    resxtop - vesxi51-4 - username root server

A solution alternative, but is not ideal, it is you can always use the local esxtop if you need to collect statistics immediately or you can even use a resxtop 5.0, which is part of vCLI 5.0 (has no bug check SSL, but you won't see any 5.1 News stats).

We apologize for any inconvience this has cuased and rest assured, it is being developed and we hope to get a fix for this soon.

During the installation of Update Manager, it gives below error.

Error: Vcenter is incompatible with vmware vsphere Update Manager that you are installing.

  • VSphere 6.0 backward compatible with vCenter 5.5 replication is?

At one point, the vSphere replication 6.0 compatibility matrix said that it is compatible with vCenter 5.5.  I think it was around mid-March.  Now, he seems to have changed and says vSphere 6.0 replication is only compatible with vCenter 6.0.  Is this true?  Are there plans to make vSphere replication 6.0 backward compatible with vCenter 5.5?

    Bill,

A decision was made not to support backward compatibility between replication 6.0 vSphere and vCenter Server 5.5 going forward.  This is the result extended and careful considerations affecting the provision of quality and consistent user experience for our customers using vSphere 6.0 replication.

Thus, vSphere 6.0 replication is officially supported with vCenter Server 6.0 only (SSO 6.0, 6.0 PC, Web Client 6.0).  This resulted therefore in the interoperability of public VMware product matrix.

  • VMWare vRealize is compatible with the IBM SVC?

VMWare vRealize is compatible with the IBM SVC?

Given that you posted the question on the forum of vRealize Orchestrator, I think that your needs is to orchestrate/automate the tasks of storage... in any case, now that you told me you want to monitor the performance of your SVC, the VMware product that allow you to monitor the performance and health of the storage devices is the vRealize, Operations Manager , along the coast with the Pack of Directors for storage devices, BUT unfortunately the SVC is not supported by the provided by IBM management pack, have a look here: https://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/STWMS9_2.2.1/RN/isis_rn_supported_storage.html

Only XIV and accelerate the spectrum is supported at the time... in any case I would recommend you use the control of the spectrum of IBM (formerly IBM Tivoli Storage Productivity Center).

  • VMware ESXI host Client is not compatible with the Ipad

    Hi all

First of all I want to say that I am very happy with the introduction of the ESXI host Client, it's a very good start for not having a vSphere client to be installed.

One thing I was hoping too is compatible with mobile devices, for example, an IPad. Unfortunately this isn't the case. Not for IOS 8 or 9

I tried several browsers without a bit of luck.

    There are several problems;

    • The page is not scaling properly
    • The top bar is not visible, you can, for example, sign out
    • The Web page expands when you rotate the page on the iPad horizontally, not having not not able to see the Web page complete.

I found these problems in Tech Preview, build 2015.08.25.3015331 combined with ESXI 6 with the latest patch

    Kind regards

    Marcel

    Hi Marcel,.

Thanks for pointing out these problems. We have made a few improvements wrt. support iPad in the last version of the adventure. Could you update and let me know how it goes?

  • vCenter Server 5.5 compatibility with vSphere 4 hypervisor

I recently installed vCenter Server 5.5.0.5201 (with a Standard license valid vCenter) and I am trying to add the hosts to vCenter data center. I can connect successfully to the host but vSphere displays the following error:

"The host is licensed with vSphere 4 hypervisor. The license of vCenter Server edition doesn't support vSphere 4 hypervisor. »

Now I found the slot compatibility matrix and there clearly shows that vCenter 5.5 is compatible with all the way back to version 4 for ESXi. I must be missing something, can someone please clarify the question.

    vCenter_Compatibility.PNG

I know that vSphere hypervisor and ESXi Server is essentially the same but vSphere hypervisor is the free version, so is there a difference that I know?

This happens because you are using a free license on the ESXi 4.1 key.

"The host is licensed with vSphere 4 hypervisor" means that it is a free ESXi. You will not be able to manage the free ESXi with vCenter.

  • 5.5 beta sdk will be compatible with the web client 5.1?

    Hello

We are studying options for vsphere web clinet plugin. We use the 5.1 sdk for our plugin currently. Now we continue to hear a lot of new features coming with 5.5 Sdk. So we intend to spend 5.5 sdk, visitors will also migrate to version 5.5 web client to use our plugin?

    Concerning

Built with the SDK 5.1 plugins must be compatible with the Web Client 5.5.  Our goal is to ensure backward compatibility for at least 1 major release.

This virtual Exchange machine works since Esxi version 3.5.  I am testing now vCenter Server 5.0 with version 5.0.1 on the Esxi server.

Note: I've also been meeting random uses CPU high, leading from Windows Server 2008 to lock up completely.  I have found no trace of problems within the Windows host and Vcenter is not questions.  I have "reset" of the virtual machine in order to get the server back online.  The CPU to the top lock is random and the server can run for days with no problems. * Don't know if it's related...

Views of storage: I have a warning symbol on the QNAP iSCSI disk that hosts the virtual Exchange computer but I see no record... I'm new here...

I understand that vmotion apply restrictions on the movement of VM compatibility to avoid it.  The components of the HA does not apply to these requirements.  We tested yesterday HA, succsessfully and this how we came to be stuck with the Exchange vm on vmserver2 and it cannot migrate to vmserver1.

I appreciate your time and consideration,
    Tim

It seems that you have two different processor speeds. Try the VCA mode and also check the BIOS version you and make sure they match.

  • 4.1 pilot 3ware sas to work with vsphere 9750 5

Anyone know if the driver for 3ware-sas vsphere 4.1 (specifically for a 3ware 9750-4i) will work with vsphere 5?  I installed on a HP Proliant ML110 G6 starting vsphere 5 from a USB key, the 9750 is only for a data store.  I bought the 9750, assuming that it has been supported because he was listed as compatible for the 4.1, but did not notice that he was a pilot of vmware add-on.  I plan on the test, but I am concerned about the problems on the road, if there is a driver incompatibility which might not appear initially.  If anyone has any information on the question of whether the drivers of the controller are the same for 4.1 vs 5 it would be a great help.  Thanks for any information provided in advance.

I don't think it will be

    See attachment

I just tried to use my 9650 (which is really close to you) and it does not work

    Edit:

  • Update Manager is not compatible with SQL 2008 Standard edition?

I noticed in the documentation for compatibility, all in vCenter Server 4 shows also compatible with standard SQL 2008, vSphere Update Manager not compatible with her poster (if it does not say that it is compatible with the version of the Enterprise edition). Is this correct? I've seen other discussions here, which indicates that, in some cases, the documentation is wrong. Someone at - he here tried running vSphere Update Manager with a SQL 2008 Standard database and I can confirm that it does or does not work?

  • License 3.5 hosts with Vsphere licenses

Until vSphere has passed the etc test, and we know its compatible with all of our infrastructure, we cannot upgrade in the production environment. At the same time the production environment need to grow - new hosts added etc. If I understand correctly, it is now only possible to buy vSphere licenses. These licenses are compatible with the infrastructure 3.5 and can they be used until we update. Can licenses be temporarily downgraded?

Yes, you can downgrde licenses vSphere -'s done it on the Licensing Portal and when you're ready return you vSphere licenses licenses.
