ORDER BY performance.

Hi all

I have a query with an ORDER BY. When I run with ORDER BY, it crashes (probably takes hours) and when I remove the ORDER BY, he takes a second!

So I was wondering if anyone had the same problem.

I guess this is a memory related issue, but not quite sure, I checked the sort_area_size which seems low: 65536

Do you know how I can improve my ORDER BY? Increasing the sort_area_size?

Thank you very much!

What tool do you use? One of the most common mistakes of judgment ORDER BY time is related to the use of tools GUI like TOAD, SQL Navigator, etc. Such tools appear first screen lines as soon as it is read. It's just time to get the first screen, execution time not any statement. And when you add ORDER BY Oracle must extract all lines first before he can order the result set. Then execute the statement without ORDER BY and click on the last line of your tool. Then you will know that the execution time is complete.

The Cambridge to color site recommends a very particular workflow when editing photos jpg. This applies also in Photos, or the app optimizes the order of changes? For example if I adjust the color * then * adjust levels, which will give slightly different results for first level * then * color?

Related: if I apply an adjustment of the color of the picture X and then switch to the photo, I guess that a jpeg of X is saved? If I then go back to X's picture, it opens this same jpeg? And finally, if I may apply a level and then proceed to photo, is a X more saved jpeg image? I ask because there is a small loss of quality that happens with every new save/open, and I think the sequence of changes in the way that involves from Cambridge in colour.

In which case it is important, I El Capitan & Photos fully updated, on a mid-2010 27 iMac "with 16 GB of RAM.

Photos for Mac applies all changes to the original image file.  If you have a sequence of changes made, the final image will be made by applying to the original image of the master.  The sequence of changes must only question, if you use using photo editing extensions, because they will create new original intermediate files and all the other changes made in Photos apply to these intermediate files. While the sequence is important, and I would follow the list in the article you have linked to.

But you can try it for yourself: duplicate a picture in the pictures before you start to edit and apply the same changes on both copies, but in a different order and export the photos that result in the highest possible quality. Compare the exported photos.  When I did, I could not see any difference, as long as I don't have use photo editing extensions.

  • WHERE clause order ox performance question

I do not understand order of execution of a WHERE clause, the use of a complex database

I want to write a SELECT statement with the following condition

    ... WHERE (branch = 'main') AND (type = 1) OR (AND the costs-1 = 2).

    My question is

< 1 > yoyu can use parentheses within a WHERE clause

< 2 > how you would write such a clause as above if you cannot use parenthesis

    Thank you

    Hello

Yes, you can have parentheses in a WHERE clause.
I highly recommend to use when you need to use both AND and or in the same WHERE clause, since

    WHERE ( x
            AND y
            )
    OR z

    is not the same as

    WHERE x
    AND ( y
            OR z
            )

    As others have said:

    ( charge -1 AND charge = 2 )

    will cause a compilation error.
Here's the syntax valid and quite reasonable (although somewhat obscure):

    WHERE ( branch = 'main'
         AND type = 1
         )
    OR          (     charge != -1
            AND     charge !=  2
         )

  • What order to perform advanced Actions in?

I have a simple tip that drives me crazy action.   Captivate 7.

    AdvancedAction.png

The jump shift occurs before shares of effect to apply and Audio play can occur.  The skin works obviously, because when I return to this slide, it is hidden.  Audio tha never played.

How can I delay the jump to slide until the previous actions happen?

I'd appreciate any help you can give!

    Mister C.

    Hello

The peak action is carried out totally in sequence, but since you have a jump to as a last resort, you will never see the applied effect because Captivate reads and executes all much faster than the duration of the effect. Moreover, since you also hide for that object, even if you could delay the jump effect cannot be seen on a hidden object game! Not sure on the audio - should have to verify - but very sure about the effect if this effect should be made on the original slide.

There is no way to delay action, but without doubt, you can use the navigation microphone. Can you explain first how to trigger this action? And my correct understanding:

    • on the original slide that you want to apply an effect
    • on this same blade, you want to have an audio played
    • When has the object to hide - after effect?
    • When he played audio, effects were seen is hidden, do you access the slide of other

    Hello

I bought and installed Windows 8 as a digital downloadon November 13, I had to format and reinstall my computer in order to correct a hardware problem and now I can not re - download Windows 8.
I don't have the original email from Microsoft with my product code I can't find my order number to complete the form at: http://www.mswos.com so that I can not retrieve my product code in order to perform an upgrade of windows 8.
The only evidence of the purchase that I have is my paypal invoice that does not have a valid order number contained in the details of the Bill.
This question makes me wish I had ordered a disc like this would have included a product code label. Any help or a number I can call to retrieve my order number (or maybe I'm filling out the form at http://www.mswos.com incorrectly) would be greatly appreciated.

  • Console shows "com.teamviewer" running on my Mac, but I do not have Team Viewer installed

Because of the constant crashing and having to restart my Mac like 5-6 times a day, I checked the first Console of my Mac. I searched through my Mac, but I found no evidence of this request.

Here is a part of the text in the Console (I think!) Watch Team Viewer running:

Back up all data before making any changes.

Generally, you will need to restart the computer in order to perform an uninstall. Until you do this, there may be no effect, or the unpredictable effects.

If you can't remove the software in any other way, you will have to erase and install OS X. Never install any third party software, unless you're sure you know how to uninstall in the contrary case, it can create problems which are very difficult to solve.

Try to remove the complex system of changes by hunting for files by name, often will not work and can make the problem worse. The same goes for 'utilities' as the 'AppCleaner"designed to remove software.

I am exploring now Web interface.

I reinstalled Firefox, so it will run in order to perform the steps below.

Here is the answer which took care of the problem,

Please remove the software from Logitech trackpad and see if the panic stop.

Any third party software that is not installed on the App Store or by drag-and - drop in the Applications folder and uninstall by drag - move to the trash, is a modification of the system.

Whenever you delete changes to the system, they must be eliminated completely, and the only way to do this is to use the uninstall tool, if any, provided by the developers, or follow their instructions. If the software has been removed incompletely, you may redownload or reinstall even to finish the job.

I never install modifications of the system myself, and except as stated in this comment, I do not know how to uninstall them. You'll have to do your own research to find this information.

Here are some general guidelines to help you get started. Suppose you want to remove the so-called "BrickMyMac" (a hypothetical example). First of all, menu using the product, check if there is one, for instructions. Not finding here, look at the Web site, let's say www.brickmymac.com. (Maybe it's not the name real site, if necessary, search the Web for the name of the product). If you don't find anything on the Web site or in your search, contact the developer. While you are waiting for a response, download BrickMyMac.dmg and open it. There may be a request here as "Uninstall BrickMyMac." If this is not the case, open "BrickMyMac.pkg" and look for an uninstall button. The uninstall program can also accessible by clicking on the button customize, when one exists.

Back up all data before making any changes.

Generally, you will need to restart the computer in order to perform an uninstall. Until you do this, there may be no effect, or the unpredictable effects.

Please delete "Little Snitch" and see if the panic stop.

  • WindowServer is unresponsive, usually with Safari (Late - 2013 RMBP)

Every week or so, my computer crashes. The beachball is not displayed and I can only move the mouse. This usually lasts a minute, more from time to time.

WindowServer crash - the Console Log

Report of diagnosis MBP - 160416

Please provide me steps to avoid this problem.

(Web sites that have been opened when the problem occurred was pixelfilmstudios.com and web.whatsapp.com on this occasion).

You're probably dealing with a logic-board failure, but before reach you that conclusion that you should exclude 'HAXM' and 'NoSleep' as suspects by removing both.

The panic was apparently caused by the Realtek USB network device or its software. I suggest that you unplug the unit and then remove the software.

  • Driver monitor with XP on Satellite Pro C660-2CN problem

    I get 2 monitors Plug-and-Play - 1 ok, the other cannot start (Code 10)

The laptop is also not go into sleep mode.
The display turns off standby mode, but the laptop can be used.
I also have an error ACPI event ID: 43 - the system sleep operation failed.

Unfortunately no driver XP for this laptop.

I think that this could be related to incorrect Graphics Driver installed.
Device for my integrated graphics card ID is:
    PCI\VEN_8086 & DEV_0116 & SUBSYS_FC901179 & REV_09

I am currently using Intel HD Graphics 6.14.10.5384 - the pilot didn't say not that there problems in Device Manager.

Device ID for my Plug-and-Play monitor that will not start:
    Monitor\LGD02DC

Has anyone installed XP on this laptop and if so what graphics drivers they use.

    Hello

PCI VEN ID and DEV ID may be useful in order to perform a search on this page:
    http://www.PCIDatabase.com/

The laptop seems to be equipped with Intel HD graphics chip 3000.
If the drivers must be compatible. You must also install the Mobile Intel HM65 Express Chipset for Win XP driver since this chipset is part of the motherboard.

But its interesting that you said that an external monitor work correctly and the other doesn t you try to use two external monitors at the same time?
