  Slow performance when opening data forms using a Dial-Up connection
  
  Scenario:
  
  Opening a form of data using a slow network connection (for example, with a modem) takes a long time.
  
  Solution:
  
  You can greatly increase the bandwidth network at the opening of the data forms by modifying the web.xml file, as described in this section. This option compresses about 90% of the data stream sent from the planning to the client server.
  
  
  Note: If you are using a WebLogic application server (versions all supported) Web, fill the second procedure, which is specific to WebLogic. If you use another Web application server, follow the first, which contains general instructions.
  
  
  To modify the web.xml file to improve performance, for any application except WebLogic Web server:
  
  1 with a text editor, open the web.xml file located in HyperionPlanning.ear or HyperionPlanning.war.
  
  2 after the tag < / description > and before the < earphone > tag, insert the following lines:

  If you use WebLogic, you must manually change the .ear file and redeploy to the Web application server.
  
  
  To improve performance with a WebLogic application server:
  
  1. unzip the file HyperionPlanning.ear to C\:ear, for example.
  
  2 unzip Hyperion.war under C:\war C:\ear.
  
  3 with a text editor, open the C:war\WEB-INF\web.xml file and change using the instructions in step 2 in the previous procedure.
  
  4 compress the contents of C:\war to C:\ear\HyperionPlanning.war.
  
  5. compress the content in C:\ear in C:ear\HyperionPlanning.ear
  
  6. deploy the new HyperionPlanning.ear for the WebLogic Web application server.

  Yes we did it with a bank that had branches connected to a server through a dial-up line. They are complaining about the amount of data transferred between the branches and the servers. This has worked well on it and has greatly increased the performance of data transfer. However, nowadays the performance bottlenecks are usually not due to the amount of data transferred on the network, but the javascript components that need to run on the client and heavy computing/data and the report creation process.

• How can I download forms in hyperion planning 11.2.2 both?

  I can choose a member of down to the bottom of the box and download a form at a time.
  If I need more dataform, I drop would charge forms more to get the data.
  can I download many forms both in 11.2.2 planning?

  Hi, I see two ways
  1. If you do not have too many lines in you current form design, you can transfer entity of the lines page. So you'll download subsidiary all at the same time while opening the form. You can design the new form or ad hoc grid example
  If you do not have to see all the features, but 10 of 100th tries to use the variables user (10 or more variables that you need). In the entity lines dim select only 10 user variables. If it is a stable set of subsidiaries, you set values for user vars init in the preferences once. Otherwise, you should change var values per you must just as data
  2. also try to design the composite data form with tabs. All tabs (10 or more) are your current or prev description forms but with a single entity or vars page online. Unfortunately, you have to copy a simple form with vars (var1 to var10) diff

  I have the next dimension:

  Total product (Lev 3)-> product-> product-> product (Lev 0) (Lev 1) (Lev 2)

  In the form of selecting members, I need to dynamically select ALL AND ONLY members of level 1 (range). How can I do this?

  I can't use a filter on an attribute, because the product range is not level 0 and the member functions (ancestors, children, Parents,...) do not seem to apply in my case.

  I don't think that there is a simple approach. If your rating is sparse, then you can assign attributes to the level 1 members and use the form.

  I have a requirement on data forms in Hyperion planning.
  Requirement says for example, if you click the dimension member year 2011 in the Page. then the data form should open in 2011 until last year.
  And at the same time, if you click on the year 2012 in the drop-down menu, then data must show from the year 2012.
  Is this possible.

  Not straight out of the box, unfortunately. The problem here is that you cannot use the same dimension in the page and column of the form section. Perhaps through some customization + user variable, but this may require very little coding.

• Hyperion Planning Forms opens is not in Smartview

  I created two new forms Hyperion Planning Using Variables of Substitution Essbase.  They make in the workspace with no problems.  But in trying to open with SmartView, I get a (undefinable) error message that explains the shape is not valid.  Have never seen this before and am at a loss for what is the cause.  I changed to hardcode the 'year' and the 'Scenario' instead of SubVars, but still does not.  I use the 11.1.2.3.500 Version.  I have attached the error I get below.

  For a test, can you copy these forms with a different name, avoid the slashes in the naming convention and give it a try...

• Strange question: Hyperion Planning Forms becomes read-only and data are destroyed: 11.1.2.2

  Let me start by saying that I am not new to Hyperion Planning. We encounter a weird problem in our Test System. We notice that some (NOT ALL) of our tour of webforms in readonly webforms. all the cells in the gray form. It comes to despite the fact that the read-only checkbox is not checked in the form as well as the security is fine on all dimensions; Basically, all the cells of the form are valid combinations.

  The form becomes readonly, and all the data on this form is always Wiped. This has happened only for two web forms so far. We took a lot of Calc (none of the Calc have cleardata command). We do not know why this is happening. Maybe it's a bug in the product... not sure. has anyone seen this behavior before?

• Unable to open the form and dimension on Hyperion Planning

  I'm working on Hyperion version 11.1.1.3 on my customer environment (Microsoft Windows Server 2003).
  There are two servers: one is at the database and essbase, the other is for the reporting, the Foundation and planning.
  
  Since a month ago this customer experiences this problem:
  When connect via admin user to Hyperion Planning (19000 and 8300 port can both be used), the menu on the upper part is loaded but the rest are empty.
  I tried to open the form by using the menu on the left, but also does not work, always empty. I also managed to try to open the dimension, it cannot be loaded
  restarted the service, and the server also, but does not work as well.
  
  NB: this error occurs only on the id of the admin, I tried to create another user account and give the same provision with admin, id works well, no problems and no case empty.
  
  could someone please advice what happened and the solution, I give my thanks to you.

• Hyperion Planning setting memory for web forms large

  I've seen some previous post Hyperion Planning that may have errors of memory for large web forms. Any recommendation of the size limit of web form?
  
  If we use 64-bit Windows, Hyperion Planning supports larger sized web form although it seems that Hyperion Planning application itself is still 32-bit software.

  It is definitely a cache where many objects in the planning are cached in their current state and which is held in the JVM, this has probably been implemented to speed up the response time. I'm not sure on this 2 GB limit you keep tapes even if, as it has always been my belief that it is down to the size of the JAVA virtual machine.

• Hyperion Planning form issue in Oracle EPM 11.1.2.2

  I faced a problem that I had never met before. I used LCM to perform a backup of the forms in the planning application. Then I deleted all forms of the respective folders. And restored forms of file backup taken earlier. The forms have been restored to the applications, but the folder structure has been destroyed. So, I wanted to delete the folders and reorganize everything. But I could not remove the folder form. No idea how I can delete the folders form? FYI, I am removing an empty folder. There is no form on the inside, but it still does not allow to delete me the folder. Remove the button is not active. Any help would be much appreciated.

  I saw this question in 11.1.2.2, and I don't think that it has nothing to do with LCM. It just seems to be a bug. Once you have removed all forms of a file, the button Delete (red X) must be enabled. This is not always the case.

  I've found a workaround. If you select the folder of form and then press the button "Grant access", the button Delete become active again. You don't have to actually change the folder security form or anything like that, just press 'Affect access' then press Cancel. Then delete.

• Member in Hyperion Planning Forms

  We are the 11.1.1.3 System. I renamed a few names of members in Hyperion Planning thanks to Internet and has updated. During the update, I got an error saying that some formulas are not valid. So I thought that members who I've renamed it use in these formulas. And I went to open the Member but surprisingly I don't see formulas of Member in it. But when I looked in the contour EAS I've seen error for the Member saying "error loading the fomula history". so I corrected the forumla member with the correct name. After that I updated outline of the planning, but the changes I made through the Regional service are always there. So I am confused. Please answer these 2 questions.
  
  1. why I am not able to see member through the planning Web forumlas?
  2. once I had changed formula of Member in environmental assessments, then did update from planning. I'm still able to see the changes I made EA even after refresh planning. Why changes have not disappeared when I refresh planning?
  
  Any suggestions are welcome.

  Do you use the UDA - HSP_UDF anywhere?

  If not, then clear the «!» ERROR: FORMULA NOT LOADED! "comment on the properties of Member in EA, and also remove the formula member.
  Add the formula of Member in the planning, then refresh.

  Check if the user accessing the form has given access to all the dimensions that are represented in the form.

  The requirement is corresponding Hyperion Planning entered in forms on OBIEE reports comments. I was able to retrieve details about the author, content of the note as well as the corresponding dimensions in considering the following tables:
  1.HSP_CELL_NOTE
  2.HSP_CELL_NOTE_ITEM
  3.HSP_OBJECT
  4.HSP_USER
  
  But I'm confused about the later approach that I take. How the Federation would be made with the Essbase cube in the OBIEE repository? How comments should be referenced to specific OBIEE reports corresponding to the Hyperion Planning Forms?
  
  I use Hyperion Planning 11.1.2.2 and OBIEE 11.1.1.6.

  The problem has been resolved. For example. For comments, a notice must be created in the relational database where the records retrieved from the HSP_CELL_NOTE and HSP_CELL_NOTE_ITEM HSP_OBJECT, the Member of dimension alias names must be recovered form HSP_ALIAS or HSP_MEMBER in the view. Then using the lookup function in OBIEE, we can extract the value (comment) the relational database view looking upward with the names of members alias Essbase in the MDB layer.
