  (a) in the currently open folder, click organize on the toolbar, and then click folder and Search Options.

  You can't manually rearrange files/images by dragging them in the folder in Windows 7. This change is design in Windows 7.

  If you are referring to the reorganize by date, size, etc. then you can always do than simply right click and selecting the option of sort by in the drop-down list when it appears in the photo or file folder.

• Why LR6 displays all the images in a folder?

  This is the prefect reason why keywords should be used to organize rather than records. You can assign two (or a lot more than two, there is no limit) keywords to the photo. It is one of the strengths of Lightroom! There is no need to duplicate the photo so that it can exist in two folders. There are many disadvantages to duplicate photos.

• Filter Organizer works is not in the folder

  I use elements on a Windows PC 9.0.3 and I display option set to the folder view.  The options filtering "and higher and more down and only" doesn't seem to work.  The only option that works is the option "and longer."

  Here are more details of my workflow:

  Step 1: import the images into a subfolder that represents the date

  Step 2: in the Organizer I browse and select or use Quick Edit to do the photos that are the best.  I mark with 3, 4 or 5 stars.

  I just got Windows 7 after using XP for years.  I like to organize the list of programs on the start menu, depending on the area of functionality (support, business, games, etc.) instead of having a long, long list of programs.  How can I do this with Windows 7?  Right click on the Start button does not open the folder that contains the list of programs.

  1. click on start.
  2. right click on all programs, and click on "Open All Users".
  3. If you want to sort the programs under just your profile, right-click on all programs and click on 'Open' instead.
  4 sort away to your heart's content!
