  Is there a preference I can turn on? Or some other simple typo?

  Select the tool move and set the options of the control bar. By default, it took to select a group, simply change layer.

  Hi people,

  I usually add a cache of 200px white around my photos and put a few lines of text at the bottom of give the image a title and write my name.

  The two lines of text are found on two separate text layers, and I usually just use the move of station tool / Center them "by eye"... and 1/2 time when I flattened the image - converted to the sRGB profile - it uploaded on the site - that are bound to him a forum etc, I discovered WHEN I did a bad job of aligning the text (for example line 2 cannot be centered relative to the line 1 etc.).

  I was wondering if anyone has any workflow that would facilitate this step text alignment? Also, it would be great if it were possible to have leaders focus on the image (IE, so zero is in the middle), with some highlights that represent the ends of text - anyone know if it is possible?

  There are several ways to approach, but using the smallest change to your workflow, select the layers of text and image, press v for the tool move and click the 'align horizontal centres' in the toolbar options at the top of the window.

• How to use the move tool in CS5 to put two images on an A4 sheet?

  Have recently updated from CS3 to CS5.

  I often print two images on A4 paper.  In CS3, I would simply adjust and crop 2 images to say ins 7 x 5 ins, after that put in place a new A4 size sheet (new file), then using the move tool, I propose the two images on the A4 sheet to separate and print.  Very well!

  Now under the CS5, once I've adjusted my first image and then try putting a second image with one I seem to lose one of the screen.  But on going back via the bridge and by clicking on the image, it appears again - problem is, I'm losing the second image.

  When I put it up a new A4 sheet, or pictures stay on the screen and there is nothing to move.

  Have been in preferences to see if there is something there to help, but nothing appears.

  Anyone know what is happening here and what I am doing wrong that is how to do 2 separate images on an A4 sheet?

  You may want to disable"Open Documents as tabs"and"enable floating Document window Docking" in the Interface preferences and the framework of the Application If you are a "old"Mac-user.

  I find that selecting and moving layers in Photoshop are MUCH more difficult to 2015.1 CC PS as in earlier versions of Photoshop (using the shortcut COMMAND to temporarily toggle the tool move).

  In earlier versions of Photoshop, if I had several layers and one of the layers selected in an image by hitting the keyboard shortcut CTRL-COMMAND (that I had my mouse over the image), and then selecting the name of the layer that I wanted to work with / move, I could then easily hit the "COMMAND" key (which is a shortcut for the tool MOVE) if I happened to have another selected both tool and this would automatically switch to the MOVE tool until what I released the button COMMAND key. Then I could move the layer as needed.

  Well, in the current version of the PS CC 2015.1 this shortcut (using the COMMAND to convert temporarily the MOVE tool) does not work very well the Group WHOLE layers (if I have layers within a group) is selected instead of just the layer I had chosen.

  ONLY if I actually choose the MOVE tool in the toolbar it works correctly and I am able to move the selected layer.

  Oh my God, it was so much harder to explain that I thought it would be! I hope this makes sense.

  It is a known problem with the latest update.

  For now, the workaround is to select the move tool and uncheck "Selection automatic Layers ' and then hit cmd as a shortcut for the move tool.

• How can I use the move tool to drag a pixel at a time?

  The move tool is stuck to slam to ~ 20 pixels at a time, so when I try to put a layer of a few pixels, its super frustrating. I don't want to have to use the arrow keys, I should be able to drag whenever I want.

  How can I stop the move tool to slam? I want to hang things accurately. I zoomed to 100% if it makes a difference. I find nothing about this in the preferences.

  As far as having the tool move selected at startup, your right about older versions of photoshop, be able to do, I think that cs photoshoshop and more, but not in newer versions.

  Anyway, there are several ways to do this and here's one:

  1. use the following script saved in Notepad (or any text editor) as, for example, Select Move Tool.jsx

  Hello people,

  I am aware that I'm really a newbie to Photoshop (but methodically working my way through Kelby Photoshop 6 for photographers tackle this CS), and I also know that I am a fool at the same time. However, it is time to put my hand up and admit that even the simplest of tasks is beyond me.

  Use the CC version, I have two pictures open in a document. Actually I'm following one of the lessons of Kelbys of Chapter 9. The two images have the same group of three folk poses, same etc, the only difference is that one picture, the guy is looking for the camera in the other, he seeks right to it. The lesson is to place the other photo on top and using a brush and a layer mask to reveal the image where he looks at the camera.

  Seriously, I have tried for 3 days to use the move tool (V) click and drag one photo to the other, but it won't happen just for me. I also tried with my own images, still no difference. This work will be if I use Select-Select All, then copy and paste a picture on top of another, so all was not lost and I can finish the lesson, but my inability to get the move tool to drag and drop gives me major pain.

  I'll be very grateful if anyone can put me out of my misery - like I said I can be a good fool sometimes. A virtual beer to the person who can help you!

  OK, I assume here that you have opened both images that everyone is in its own document. By clicking on the tabs on the top screen between the two documents and the two images switches have only a single locked background layer.

  You are right in saying: select all, copy, and then paste. It's a way.

  However with the active object (lowercase v on the keyboard) tool, you can place the cursor on the image, hold down the mouse button and drag this image into another tab. While the cursor is on that tab (you're still now on the button of the mouse) documents will pass. At this point, you can now drag toward the center of the document and finally let go of the mouse button.

  If this isn't the case, please post a screenshot of your screen so that we can see how you have photoshop set up. As can the tabs are not visible for example.

  Oh ok I didn't know that's what you said sorry. I think I found the problem. It appers that he had a problem with 2 screens, so I disabled the secondary display and it seems to work fine.

  Page size options are limited, but are in the crop tool. If there are no tags or other markup, you can also print to a new PDF and adjust the size of the printer - sometimes the simplest interface, but normally not recommended. The rotation can be made in the menu document and then saved. The rotation, which is usually on the toolbar are only for the current view and does not record with the PDF file. Many of them you can use a batch process to solve (in AA8 which is under the advanced > Document Processing). The best method is to set up your printer Adobe PDF to create the correct page size and orientation to the future. You can configure to develop in general for the installation, select a paper size, and have set parameters for auto-rotation. The latest is based on the text that is on the page.
