Orthographic inDesign - ignoring the reference numbers in the tables

I have a document of 100 pages with several tables.  Each table contains many numbers of different parts, some letters including and others do not.  We do not have any specific format.  Is it possible that I can get the spell check to ignore any word that contains a number in my entire document?  I want to still come out check to check the tables because there are other things other than the numbers of room inside.  I tried using GREP styles to achieve this, but I can't make it work.  Help, please!

Create a character style that affects the Language of No attribute and apply it to part numbers (use a find/replace query to find them). Does not take into account no. language spell check words.

    Consider using the user_tables and it works the relevant schema rather than dba_tables breast or of all_tables as these allows you to specify the schema name too will require.

    set serveroutput on;

    DECLARE
      cursor curtab is
        select table_name
        from   user_tables;
      --from   all_tables where owner = '';
      v_cnt NUMBER;
    BEGIN
      FOR t IN curtab
      LOOP
        EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'select count(*) from '||t.table_name INTO v_cnt;
        IF v_cnt > 0 THEN
          DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(t.table_name);
        END IF;
      END LOOP;
    END;
    /

    Or...

    Ensure that statistics were collected for the schema and examine the value of num_rows in the user_tables view. ;)

  • Align the reference numbers to the left

    Hello

    I am currently designing the thesis of my sister. -Any word - text several notes. The problem is when I put the word document, reference numbers were automatically aligned to the right. My sister would rather have on the left as if it were in a word document.

    How would I be able to change right to left footnote reference numbers? (see also image attached, circle green).

    Another question not directly related to InDesign, but general layout: is 2 mm 'minimum space before first note' enough in this type of publication, or what is the General distance taken for this?

    http://imageshack.com/a/img801/8752/hivh.jpg

    Thanks in advance

    You are using a version of ID with the support of the text from right to left? It seems that this might be the case, and you need to change the orientation of the text in the style specified for the notes.

  • Once again on alignment to the right reference numbers with GREP

    For some jobs, I want the reference numbers in the notes align with the period that I have Options of IDCS4 reference Add (with an en space) as the separator between the number of note and the note text.  Not much so I set the paragraph style reference with a tab 'Match point' and then insert this tab at the beginning of the note.  I recently stumbled on this thread of 2009 where RodneyA that describes more in detail, and Eugene Tyson added a GREP search to automate the addition of tab: replace (~ F) with \t$1.

    I can't get this to work in IDCS4.  It worked in earlier versions?  Earlier this year, Jongware explained that GREP can not replace a reference marker, only to watch in front of or behind the marker to replace anything.  Unfortunately, in my notes nothing before the marker reference of GREP replace until I manually put my tab there.  Addition of these tabs to hundreds of notes by hand is not if bad (jumping with Ctrl + arrow keys) and ID's of the propensity to consume a way occasionally note, I need to check all the same.  But I was mistaken in thinking that if I want to automate the addition of tabs I you do this via JSX?

    Thank you

    David

    David, indicating when that you can't get something working, I must also tell you why

    But when I tried your "replace (~ F) with \t$1 ' for me it became real obvious right away: the code ~ F is not only 'the footnote reference number' but also the note itself in the text. So, it all works in the sense that you get a tab before the code of reference number, you get loads of additional tabs in your text as a bonus.

    There are several ways around this. The most obvious is to limit the operation replace all paragraphs in style with your reference style. If it is a single (mine is usually), it will work immediately. It is the first response of Eugene in the previous thread - possiblly you forgot to put this paragraph in the field Format style find.

    Another way is to add a tab only when the code of reference number is the beginning of a line:

    ^ ~ F

    replace it with

    \t$0

    (You're right noticing the trick 'postanalyse' cannot be reversed for an advanced search for just "opening of the line followed by the code of reference numbers". "It's the special flavor of an InDesign GREP Limitation).

    This may fail if you have a note at the beginning of a paragraph

    Still another way is to try to make use of the vertical position of the code reference number. If your references are superscript (which is fairly regularly) and the numbers in the notes themselves are not (that they may or may not be), you can search

    ~ F (+ position: normal)

    and replace with himself more a tab before, as shown above. (A variation would be to use a style of character for referrals by exposing and seek [none] style to pick up those inside notes characters.)

  • Align the reference numbers

    Greetings,

    I was wondering if there could be a way to align the reference numbers, possibly all to the right, to align the referenced text. There is a spacing em dash between the numbers and text separator. The extra space has been added after to help align the text better, who has worked for a few notes. However, there are a lot who are looking just as below and probably may be due to melting. Could there be a better way to align the number or the text while maintaining the spacing of em dash? Thanks for your suggestions!

  • How to upgrade only the page numbers from a table of contents in Indesign CS6?

    Hello!

    Help, please! I make a medical book with more then 1300 pages and about 40 different table of contents.

    I want to update only the page numbers on all the table of contents. But I don't see the option to update the table of contents.

    I've seen on other forums that it is a very old and familiar problem. Do you have Adobe already fixed it?

    Nothing has changed with the function table of contents. If you update a table of contents using the standard method of the table of contents, the complete table of contents are updated.

    You can get the page numbers only updates manually by creating your table of contents by using cross-references.

    Can I do this in SQL without PL/SQL?

    Saad,

    Use REGEXP_SUBSTR(col,'[0-9]+') to extract only the numeric part

  • Number of words - ignore the numbers and symbols

    Hi guys,.

    can someone tell me how to ignore the numbers and symbols by adjusting the script below, that is, just count the letters in an entire document.

    myDoc = app.activeDocument

    h = 0

    for (var j = 0; myDoc.stories.length > j; j ++) {}

    h = myDoc.stories [j].words.length + h

    }

    Alert ("You have" + h + "words in this document")

    See you soon,.

    Samuel

    In CS3 and later versions, you can use this:

    app.findGrepPreferences = null;
    app.findGrepPreferences.findWhat = "[\\u\\l][-\\u\\l]+";].
    found = app.documents [0] .findGrep ();
    Alert ("You have" + found.length + "words in this document.")

    A "word" is defined here as any string of uppercase and lowercase letters and hyphens. It's perhaps too strict, but you can change the GREP to meet your needs.

  • Ignore the condition AVERAGEIF referenced cell is empty?

    I'm trying to run an AVERAGEIF function based on up to 3 sets of test values whose conditions are determined by the entries in cells referenced in the formula.

    Here is a picture of the table:

    Seminar, day and hour are the columns from the drop-down list. Registered average and average archived have AVERAGEIF formulas that use the data in the table another as test values that resolves as true when they correspond to data in the corresponding cells of the seminar, day and hour [example: IFERROR (AVERAGEIF (seminar, Schedule::Registered, $Topic, $A2, $Days, $B2, hourly seminars: $B, $C2),' ')]. This set works fine if I have all three of the cells in the columns of seminar, day and time information, but I would like to also see average which which do not take into account (i.e., what are the averages for what seminar is offered Monday, regardless of what time?). Is it possible to get these formulas to ignore the conditions that are left in white?

    Thank you!

    AVERAGEIF accept them * and? wildcard characters.  You could try to enter * in the Time column and see if your formula returns desired results.  Without seeing the data format in your time table of the seminars, however, it is difficult to know if you need to make other adjustments to make it work.

    For example, you use Date & time format of data?  If so, numbers actually stores a date and time, even if you have a cell that is formatted to display only the time. This can give results, that you are not pregnant if you do not have two cells showing that same time can be interpreted by the numbers as being different, because the part of associated of the date string date and hour is different.

  • Rock KING how to ignore the outside frame of the license plate

    Hello. I'm doing an OCR program to detect the license plate numbers. However, I am having this problem where I specify the return on investment for OCR recognize my characters.

    Otherwise the program cannot read the characters correctly due to the presence of an outdoor setting on the image (probably OCR is read as a single character).

    Operations I can do to fix this?

    Photo 1: This is when the return on investment is not specified

    Photo 2: After the return on investment is selected manually

    Thank you.

    Hello

    In fact the answer to this question varies based on the other terms of your system. But first, I think you need to localize the position and angle of the plate.

    If we act with the image you shared, you can search the frame of the plate (shape of rectangle) using match game model/geometric model functions, while ignoring the characters inside. After that, you can set a benchmark using the position and angle of it. Then you can select your return on investment and make the system work.

    It's just a suggestion, look at the image above, you should find your way, given all the conditions.

  • Ignore the ASO - zero data loads and missing values

    Hello

    There is an option that ignores the zero values & the missing values in the dialog box when loading data in cube ASO interactively via EAS.

    Y at - it an option to specify the same in the MAXL Import data command? I couldn't find a technical reference.

    I have 12 months in the columns in the data flow. At least 1/4 of my data is zeros. Ignoring zeros keeps the size of the cube small and faster.

    We are on 11.1.2.2.

    Appreciate your thoughts.

    Thank you

    Ethan.

    The thing is that it's hidden in the command Alter Database (Aggregate Storage) , when you create the data loading buffer.  If you are not sure what a buffer for loading data, see loading data using pads.

  • Ignore the contents of box

    Hello

    When I find the content in the InDesign document, it gives the contents of the box also.  But I need to get the content of pages only.  How can I get the content of the page alone.

    Can someone help me?

    To ignore the cardboard content try this:

    app.findTextPreferences = NothingEnum.nothing;
    app.changeTextPreferences = NothingEnum.nothing
    app.findTextPreferences.appliedParagraphStyle = "sajeev";
    found = app.activeDocument.findText();
    for(var i=0; i

    To paste content cleaning (developed by Marc Autret) on board:

    removePasteboardItems(app.documents.length && app.activeDocument);
    function removePasteboardItems(/*?Document*/doc)
    {
        if( !doc ) return;
          var items = doc.pageItems.everyItem().getElements(),
            t = null;
          while( t=items.pop() ) t.parentPage || removeItem(t);
          t = items = null;
    }

    function removeItem(/*PageItem*/item)
    {
        try {
            item.locked = false;
            item.remove();
            }
        catch(_){}
    }

  • I can't get the page numbers in my table of contents to update when I update the book.

    I use Framemaker 11 and I have two tables of contents in my book: one in English and French. Each table of contents to links to various documents in the same book. The reference page for each table of contents is defined and properly displays the positions 1 and 2, I said that it appears, but numbers not updated when the contents of my document files change to another page. I checked the settings of conditional text in my document files; they are correct. When I update the book, I choose to update the numbers, all the cross-references, all text inserts, OLE links, generate a Table of contents, lists, and indexes. What I am doing wrong? Thank you.

    If they are not knocked down, then they are certainly not generated files. See the example in the help of FM11: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FrameMaker/11.0/Using/images/bk_hier_books.png

    The 'K' is a TOC file that FM recognizes a generated file.

    Because you have created your table of the contents of the French with the help of another structure of the book, you could import reference this TOC file in another file of FM (for example to create an inset text) in the main book you want. However, you need to make updates in two steps. First update the French book to revise the table of contents. Then update the main book to get the rest of the correct pages (and given that the table of french contents are imported by reference, FM always uses the most recent version).
