Pavillion Slimline s5122f and USB 3.0 - then - I switch from USB 2.0?

I have a Pavillion Slimline s5122f, w / USB 2.0; I want to upgrade to USB 3.0.  What do I need?

A USB 3.0 interface card PCI-Express x 1 will do the trick. They sell them at NewEgg and many other providers.

You will need to make sure that it is a low profile card so that it wil perfectly inside your business slimline PC. Here are the models of low profile that fits.

    1. my external USB 3.0 drive may work correctly with my old laptop window 7 with USB 3.0 input. N ° there is no need to go to a command line and it is not all the DOS commands that will help.

Consider using the Windows system restore to return the operating system of your laptop to a date before the start of this issue. Choose a restore point dated before the redone problem surface. Use the charm of the search and the type of restore. Select create a restore point. The System Properties window appears. Click System Restore, as shown in the following image.

Make sure that the option to Show me the restore points more has a check mark in the box. Choose the restore point that you want, and then click Next. It is safe and reversible.

  • Satellite C660 - 1ZM Win 7 64-bit: carpet of mouse and USB - 'code 52' driver error

    Hello

Having recently set up a new Satellite C660-1ZM running Windows 7 64 bit (upgrade from Home Premium to Ultimate) for a friend, the mouse pad and USB ports have suddenly stopped working. Pilots show an exclamation against them and the error is 'code 52' associated with the driver signing. Windows does not seem to recognize the signatures of the drivers for the published drivers that came pre-installed machine disk, so the devices do not work. I've updated the drivers (chipset Intel [which includes USB]; Synaptics touchpad) to the last published on the Toshiba web site - and we have the same problem.

By pressing F8 at startup allows you to select "disable driver signing checking" in WIndows 7 boot options, which allows the drivers and all is going well, until you restart - how you must press F8.

I think that among the many Windows updates has somehow messed up things, but we cannot prove easier than. The machine has been running for a week or two, then the mousepad suddenly stop working around August 8, 2012.

    (1) are there valid signed drivers who spend some Microsoft controls required for signature, including any controls they have potentially just imposed by some recently imposed update drivers?

    (2) does anyone know exactly how to disable the verification of signature permanently, drivers so a reboot will not require F8 key pressure and so forth?

Uninstalling the mouse pad driver and reboot gives the basic functionality of the mouse, without the skill of Synaptics. However, the USB ports don't always work because their driver does not load, so an external mouse does not work.

It's a hellish nusiance. The system of the keyboard to uninstall the drivers etc at the wheel is not fun.

    Cheers, Colin.

    Hello

Have you received the error windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device? This means the error code 52
Given that the USB drivers are parts of the Windows operating system, I don t think that this could be a signature issue I think that some files are damaged.

Try to uninstall/reinstall the driver and remove the unit and it s drivers in Device Manager before you reinstall.
Normally this should help, if not, well try to repair the system.

Switch on and press F8. Then choose fix my computer.
Now, choose the first option that would fix the system.

    Thank you

    Hello:

For the smbus controller, install this driver and restart.

    http://h20566.www2.HP.com/hpsc/SWD/public/detail?swItemId=cp_127758_1

For the usb3 controllers, install these two and restart.

    http://h20566.www2.HP.com/hpsc/SWD/public/detail?sp4ts.Oid=6943835&swItemId=ob_139250_1&swEnvOid=4058

For the encryption pci controller, download and run this driver... It will probably not install the device automatically.

    http://h20566.www2.HP.com/hpsc/SWD/public/detail?swItemId=vc_133833_1

Go to Device Manager and click on the controller E/D PCI needing drivers.

Click the driver tab.  Click on set to update driver.  Select her browse my computer for driver software option and navigate to the folder of the driver that was created when you ran the file.

This file will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp66974.

Make sure that the include subfolders is selected, and the driver should install.

    Then restart.

HOW CAN I GET A HP LASERJET 4V IN ORDER TO PROPERLY USE THE OPERATING SYSTEM TO XP PRO AND USB USING A PARALLEL CABLE?

The printer works at all with this cable?

The cable has recognized and installed by Windows XP when you logged on to the computer?

If the cable has been recognized, what steps have you taken to install the printer then (be as accurate and complete as possible)?

You get an error message?  If so, please provide, without paraphrasing.

This printer has already been installed on this computer?  If so, with what type of connection?

And especially, what is the brand and model of the USB to parallel cable?  Many of them do not work.  See, for example, the comments here , which suggests that 25% of the units will simply not work.  This seems to be one of these products you should buy at a local store, rather than on the Internet, then you can continue taking it back until you get a working unit.

(I've seen a post or two during the upgrade to Windows 7 64 bit of Vista 32 bit). Could just be a funky DVDROM drive problem. Copy of the files should ignore the issue.

  • Ability of Pavillion Slimline s5610y Bluetooth

Pavillion Slimline s5610y has the Bluetooth capability, or do I need an adapter?

I moved your post to office equipment since you posted inadvertently in the notebook section.

It is compatible but not included in a desktop PC. Most laptops have this feature as part of the laptop.

Which plan you use with bluetooth?

You need to buy a usb bluetooth adapter (called a dongle) If you simply want to add capacity.

Moreover, some bluetooth devices come with a dongle.

  • ethernet and usb printer

I have a beautiful deskjet 6940 on a network, but after the passage of XP, I need to take a computer on the internet.  They therefore have no Ethernet access to the printer. I thought thati f I had to install the printer on the XP computer via usb, then I don't have to buy a printer separated for a computer, I only use it as backup and rarely would have to print from.

Question: can I install the USB driver on the XP computer and retain access to the printer, while he remains a shared for other computers network printer?  I thought if necessary, unplug the ethernet cable, computer XP link to printer with USB cable and print that way.  Or settings changed the printer and cause havoc?

This mixed use, if possible, how to install safely on the XP computer?  Uninstall all the drivers first, and then reinstall it from old records or internet? Or uninstall the old drivers after installing new?

    Thanks for reading.

    Hi ellengoudsmit,

You can use the printer while it is connected via USB to a computer and network with others. You should be able to install the software without having to uninstall anything. I recommend the software downloaded from the Web site to ensure you have the latest version.

  • Driver files that run the parallel port and USB port

In the system information utility where to look to find the parallel port and the port driver USB, name of file that manages these?

Know the drivers specific, is only half the story.  Why you looking for these drivers?  You have problems with your parallel port or USB port?  This can be caused by problems with drivers or it could be a hardware problem (hard to diagnose a hardware problem without good parts to swap and test).  If you need to update the drivers, you must use device (not msinfo32) Manager - or maybe clicking on an executable file that loads the drivers automatically (depends on how it is sent by download).

Go to the Device Manager by going to start / find and type Device Manager and enter and then double-click on the program icon that appears.  Check each device to a red x, yellow! or white?  These identify devices with problems probably (drivers, but also of conflict or something else).  Click on each for more details and troubleshooting tips.  If you need drivers (I assume that you want to the parallel port and USB ports), get the computer dealer or the manufacturer of the device (NOT of Microsoft Updates).  In fact, you must disable automatic updates in Windows Update driver as follows: http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/how-to-disable-automatic-driver-installation-in-windows-vista/. Follow these steps to get the drivers: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/ht/driverdlmfgr.htm.  Once you have the drivers, you can install them via the Manager device as follows: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-device-manager-install-driver.html.  Or run the Setup program of driver provided by the vendor of the computer or the manufacturer of the device.  Be VERY careful get Vista compatible drivers for these devices are difficult to identify (they usually come with the numbers of model or something like that if they can have serial numbers) and using the wrong drivers could make the problem (whatever that is) worse.

If you update the drivers succerssfully and the problem persists, then it is probably a hardware problem.  In this case, contact the manufacturer of your computer for technical support (hopeully it is still under warranty) or bring it to a professional computer repairman (NOT Geek Squad or one of those big store centers because they don't really know what they're doing and charge a lot for this level of expertise) to have the components tested and possibly replaced.

    I hlpe that aid.

  • Require the NDIS2 drivers for HP LAN and USB travel hub

    Hello

I have some ultrabooks with no LAN on board, which I am trying to use an image Ghost (the network).

I use a HP LAN and USB hub, but to get the ghost to work, I need drivers BACK (NDIS2) to get this working.  Any ideas where I could get these in.  I had a good glance but had no joy so far.  All of my generic drivers seem to fail too!

    Thanks in advance!

Hello, I'm not familiar with the "HP LAN and USB travel hub", but I used a good amount of Ghost!

I think that it can be difficult to get this ethernet device works in DOS mode.  One of the problems is that DOS itself does not have support for the USB, so you would first get drivers in real mode USB installed and then find/layer drivers for HP LAN and USB travel in addition to this hub.

This looks like a difficult task.  Must the ghost image be stored/retrieved over the network?  It may be easier to use Ghost with a local storage device, for example a USB optical drive or an external/USB drive (if that's an option)...

Another option would be to use a different disc Imaging program (the one who works within Windows, or something like a Windows PE boot disk uses instead of BACK).

    I hope this helps!

  • Windows 7 64 - bit, GA-970-a-DS3P, slow SATA 3 HD and USB 2.0 also issues

    Let me start this way:

    Material:

    Motherboard: GA-970-a-DS3P

    (1) WD Caviar Black HD: 3 amendments of 1 TB each. One for the OS, one for applications and one for Swap. (Don't ask how I ended up with this config: it's a long story of upgrade).

    (2) graph GTX 550 Ti card.

    (3) AMD Phenom x 4 965 BE: all 4 cores unlocked. DO NOT overclocked.

    (4) RAM DDr3 8 GB (2 sticks)

    (5) rest include 1 SATA DVD drive, Cooler Master monstrous fins CPU cooler (which cuts my fingers twice) and a power supply 650W (Cooler Master)

    Software:

    (1) Windows 7 64 bit ultimate (new installation)

    (2) MS Office 2010

    (3) Acronis True Image 2012

    (4) cloud of Creative adobe: Adobe Acrobat Pro XI

    The ORGANIC parameters:

a value of 1) all SATA AHCI.

    (2) active xHCI. (no idea)

    (3) active eHCI. (no idea)

    Drivers:

1st install Gigabyte SATA AHCI and USB 3.0 drivers drivers. All keyboard & mouse drivers are from Gigabyte.

2nd configuration (after that I discovered that it was slow death): DriverMax provided SATA 3.0 AHCI drivers.

Windows start up the GUI login screen in 40 to 43 seconds after the POST.  (Used to make less than 30 seconds before I installed MS Office).

Problem and diagnoses that I made:

    (1) primary HD is extremely slow to respond. It takes just an inordinate amount of time to respond to the high activity of HD. (Like when I try to copy a large file on the C drive or read from drive C).

    (2) I used Perfmon.exe to monitor disk queue length and % disk time Avg. Length of queue disk on drive C starts from 0.117 and amounts to 24,26 within 20 minutes once I started. % disk time is high at 118.98 or even above.

    (3) surprisingly a USB 3.0 flash drive has reported a speed of 118 MB/s on a copy of a file of 3.4 GB D USB 3.0 drive

    (4) USB 2.0 reported avg 28 MB per second, which was expected.

    (5) after that I removed the drivers from Gigabyte SATA, I used one of Drivermax (don't know what it was).  Yes, I remove the old drivers, rebooted and then installed drivers drivermax.

    (6) disk queue length dropped to 0.28 on average when copying to and from the drive C and even under heavy operations.

    (7) Windows experience index stays at 5.9 for HD primary.

    (8) Avg speed of drive C is now about 128 to 132 MB/second (seriously?)

    (9) I don't find the exclamation points or question marks in Device Manager.

    (10) now, since yesterday, the speed has dropped again down (no updated driver, but the critical Windows updates made). Avg disk queue length again increased slowly to about 24.23.

    (11) what I did a chkdsk c: R, but could not find any errors of surface HD.

    (12) I am past controller cables and plugged in the different plugs (which cut on sharp edges of the graphics card and the fins of the cooler: why HW manufacturers can soften the edges: they will lose money?).

    (13) USB 2.0 speed has dropped drastically to 7,28 MB/second copy about 1 GB of multiple files of 12 MB each.

Am at the end of my rope on this.

Can I have a very problematic motherboard? Have I not dumb drivers? Or I did something wrong here?

Any help to fix this problem of speed appreciated.

P.S. The system is also catchy and fast with start-up less than 45 seconds, even times with connected devices. Opening apps are fast and load system (also long that I do not touch the C drive) are faster.

    Thanks in advance
