OS = slow download of memory stick update. Why?

I have a Macbook Pro 2010 with two USB 2.0 ports. I have been using a Lexar 16 G memory stick 2.0 to save Word files and number. I recently updated my OS of 10.6 to 10.11. Since the upgrade, the Lexar takes much longer to download and a few times, has not answered the command "Eject Lexar".  I'm curious to know why this is happening.

try using disk utility to repair the USB key.

  • Can I save the OSX 10.5.8 update to a memory stick?

    Hello

I troubleshoot a computer Museum. We have recently been given 5 x iMacs Intel 2.16 Ghz I have reformatted all five back to Leopard (because it's the disc above I have). Currently, they are sitting on stock OSX.5. I want to upgrade to OSX 10.5.8 which is a download of 768 MB. Wifi at the Museum is very slow and there is no 'quiet time' internet-wise to be able to do this.

Instead download the update on a memory stick from home, which is much faster and allows to install the update on each machine?

    Thank you very much.

OK, so I did a quick search on this site and found the update. Guess I should really look at first before blindly ask questions!

    Here is the link.

And the update is 287 MB, which would still take much too long on a slow connection to the Museum! I am downloading and record on a memory stick now. My only issue now is that the page says: the 10.5.8 update is recommended for all users running Mac OS X Leopard version 10.5.7

I hope I can go directly from 10.5 to 10.5.8 and not worry about the updates between the two. I'm quite familiar with the updates, I started on my first Mac on Mac OS9.0.4 and played a bit with System 7.5.1 and its associated updates. And then OSX of Jaguar to leave.

  • I will be visiting China and want to download movies to watch on the plane of Air China. I would like to download to a memory stick, so I can play the movies via my Kingston 5 in 1 for my Ipad.

I will be visiting China and want to download movies to watch on the plane of Air China. I would like to download to a memory stick, so I can play the movies via my Kingston 5 in 1 for my Ipad.

Chances are that will not work.

First of all, your movies will have DRM on them which prohibit generally just put the files anywhere. And, unfortunately, most of the USB drives do not work plugged into the iPad. Most triggers a warning 'unit wants too much power. and if they don't 'make the files on the disk must be formatted to imitate a card camera to mainly use the photos app to "fool" the iPad by seeing the files. (in a folder called DCIM and with file names exactly 8 characters)

If you are unable to get this to work, you can't watch off the stick (personally if you try I would try a SD card with the card camera adapter). You must import the file on the iPad and then watch it and delete it.

That works for homemade video files, however rented downloaded movies usually have digital rights management on them that ban you placed on a file or reading them.

There are devices like the Kingston WiDrive, which makes a localized wifi hotspot you connect your iPad to then disseminate content from there. However, it takes some experience since you can have the technology part down but may or may not be able to move the files. (I only download content from itunes so I can't say for sure if it works or not)

How can I download mail on a memory stick.

    Hello

Well, you can't really. If you want to save the messages on memory stick, you can save it on your computer (normally using html files) and copy them to a memory stick. Some e-mail applications allow you to transfer files to memory stick, but you must same request to open the files. Now my question, who request/agent/e-mail client helps you.

    Kind regards.

    ===============================================
If you insert the memory card into your Media Player
or connect the frame to the computer via a USB cable and
Reach... Start / computer... the media player or
framework should be assigned to a drive letter... probably
something like... Disk removable (e :))...

If there are several removable disks, you can
Click on it and choose open or explore in the
menu to see the directory... one who displays
the names of your photo will be the memory card...

Once you have the identified the correct drive letter
for the card, try memory which follow...

Go to your folder of photos... right click on a thumbnail
or a selected thumbnail and in the menu group...
choose... Send to... (select the memory card drive letter)...
For example... Disk removable (e :))...

The option send to may not appear in Windows Photo
Gallery if you prefer to work from there... so you will need
to copy the selected photos and paste them into a new
folder on your desktop... then you can use the send to
option. Or you can navigate to start / computer and
Click with the right button on the memory card, and then in the menu drive letter
    Choose Paste.

Tip: Only a limited number of files can be copied to
the root directory of the memory card... you can see
a dialog box indicating: "the file or directory cannot be.
created"... to correct this problem create folders on the
memory card to sort your photos.

  • My PSP Memory Stick does not work!

After the release of back in my PSP version 6.60 I took out the memory stick, now I put it and it does not read! my PC detects the PSp but not the Memory Stick... Formatting is not an option either, because I can not lose what I have out there! But even if I could, it's not detected...

Now the formatting isn't an option, other forums say it could be a stick memory corrupt, everything went wrong over time...

Another said it could be the motherboard or WiFi... Now I fall quite frequently (about 1 to 3 times per month)... I don't know if that would be or could dislodge the contacts or the welds on the boards...
everything works perfectly fine, but just, it does not detect the card.
The other thing I did was download monsters in Pixel Junk demo right after I have connected to the internet for the first time...
I tried to download the demo for LittleBigPlanet, but he went for about 5 minutes for the calculation of the time for the download, there finally went up until going to the 1077 minutes before I canceled it. and when I tried it delayed by about one minute with circular loading lower-right sign. He then returned to the Playstation store. After that, I tried to play the game, but to activate the system in order to. I did and when I returned to play, he could not detect the stick.
    I've tried everything except formatting to the >http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/threads/78420-no-memory-stick-inserted! / page2? s = 297f1e58992671fbb65f8657671d50d3< nothing="" really="" works...="" i'm="" thinking="" it="" could="" be="" a="" factory="" error,="" or="" maybe="" my="" error="" singe="" the="" stick="" had="" about="" 80mb="" of="" space="" after="" i="" deleted="" the="" update="" installation="" package.="">
Someone said I just need a card reader to copy on another stick and I'll be fine with the new stick...
Or just take a shop because it's a simple solution...
Please help me... I am sad without him :'()

    Hello

  • Download XP to Vista updates

I have a 64 - bit Vista SP2 that is connected to the high speed running.

I also have a machine running XP SP3, which can only connect through dial-up.
I have checked for the required updates using the dial-up connection, and want to download these using the Vista machine.

Windows Update brings me to the default page for Vista and I do not see how to get the files from download XP

It is only a small update, and it is only with interfering with the Screemsaver wireless mouse!

You don't need broadband for her services.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/911895

Above is the info for it.

Plug the mouse wireless in the XP machine, computer XP go to Windows Update > look in optional updates > update HID.

To find a update, put the number in the search engine of Microsoft > follow the download link.

    http://www.Belarc.com/free_download.html

Use the foregoing, Belarc, to find the missing numbers of KBs in the XP machine: dial-up will do...

Once you get the KBs, search on your > download/save on Memory stick > etc.

    Good luck with it.

  • MOVING DOCUMENTS FROM ONE COMPUTER TO ANOTHER USING A MEMORY STICK

My problem is that I had Microsoft XP on my old computer, so in order to update my system, I bought a new Tower renovated with Microsoft windows 7 on it.  Checked for viruses on all old files/documents that I wanted to move to my new system and everything was quite clear.  I then downloaded the information I wanted to transfer them to a memory stick.  I then set up my new system and tried to download this information from the memory stick, but "Avira" my anti-virus following refused to let me do this as he said it was not safe.  Could someone me the best thing to do - IE disable Avira temporarily while I download this information or y at - it another way around this? Also, I realized that I don't have Microsoft Office, but the Group Premium only, loaded on my new system and I was wondering if this had an impact on the download.  So I downloaded for free at office of the balance, but this made no difference to my transfer of such information across.  Could someone kindly help me with this problem.  I'm not very experienced with computers so would appreciate what needs to be done in the simplest if possible terms.   Thanks a lot waiting for your answers.  JJP

If you have first analysed information on the XP PC, then temporarily disable Avira and complete the task of copy on your Windows 7 PC.

You can try to copy the information in small batches to see what Avira dislikes.

  • New Installation of Windows 10 using Memory Stick

Installed Windows 10 of a download of Microsoft with the iso installed on a memory stick with training camp. After you have created a Bootcamp partition I couldn't install Windows on Bootcamp partition due to an error message 'GPT Partition Style'. Reformatting of the Windows installation screen did not help. The solution came as a surprise. I was start from the windows 'disc' when I should have used the IEF 'drive '. After starting the EFI, reformatting of the Bootcamp partition disk worked and the installation went well, with the exception of the Setup screen was too small to read easily. Fortunately, I was familiar with the installation of the failure of the previous installation screens.

Windows 10 works fine now. The link below is what led me to a solution.

    http://code-zest.blogspot.com/2015/02/Windows-8-install-GPT-partition-style.html

Your MAC supports two installation methods, inherited from the BIOS/MBR (used for XP, Vista, W7) and EFI/GPT (W8 +, W10). The first method requires a hybrid MBR to 'map' the GPT to a MBR-look-alike. EFI/GPT boots are 'native' and faster than the legacy method.
