• Failed to connect to Server Provisioning OTP-S5100

  Netflix and other internet applications worked fine on my BDP-S5100 player this month... but when I tried to connect last night, I received a message "a network error occurred." When I checked the system information, I got the dreaded "Provisioning Server Connection Status: failed" message.

  I poured on the forums and none of the proposed solutions to this problem have helped (reset the player to the factory setting, disconnected the drive, etc.). I only managed to destroy the list of compatible services internet. It does not connect even to check if there is an update of the firmware ("Connection status cannot be confirmed. Unable to communicate with the server. Please try again later. »). Also, I restarted the modem and the wireless router, nothing helps.

  Funny, it is... I have this same exact player in my room and that you connect very well to the content of the internet (Netflix, etc.).

  Many times you can not broadcast specific content without going through the most recent firmware.

  Lately my BDP-S5100 has been giving me the error code 05133.   Has anyone else had this issue or know a fix?

  I find it very strange! I checked your manual which is where these codes usually reside, but there is no mention of the code 05133.

  Can you tell me exactly what you're doing when this error? That is, you play a blu-ray/DVD or maybe the Internet streaming content?

  In addition, when the code something else occur? That is, the unit stops to play?

  Please be as descriptive as possible.

  I googled just your error code and it seems that you are not alone with this problem, many others talking about this on the web.

  I found these tips posted by an owner on the site from Amazon of all places, might be interesting to try. Please report back if it works.

  * Press the HOME button on the remote control while the unit is on.
  * Press the arrow TO the LEFT until you select the CONFIGURATION icon.
  * Press the ARROW KEY down until you find the option SETTINGS of the SCREEN.
  * Press enter (button setting on the directional circle with arrows).
  * Turn OFF the following options: output BD - ROM, DVD - ROM 24 p output, output 24 p HDMI Deep Color, press ENTER for each change.
  * Under the menu setup, press the ARROW down and select the AUDIO SETTINGS, press ENTER.
  * Select the option of MIXING Audio BD setting and set OFF option, press ENTER.

• How did you configure the OTP-S5100 to ignore a NET connection?

  We bought the Blu - ray Sony BDP-S5100 player for playing discs - do not connect to Netflix, or any other service online. Looked in the manual and configuration settings I can't find a way to say to ignore - and stop trying to connect to-in home wireless LAN. This adds unnecessary items to the MAIN menu, it slows down the cycle ON / OFF, and, worse, the machine insists on leaving the word 'NET' on the screen, rather than numbers of meter by the game disc. The only way to clear it is to return the HOME page, and then press PLAY again once.

  Is it possible to configure this machine to ignore the NET?

  Thanks, SamT, for your response. The reason why I did not "Accept [ed this] as a Solution" is that the options you mentioned after the restart were not there, in particular,

  "8 perform an EASY INSTALL and select DO NOT ALLOW INTERNET CONNECTION (in step 4)."

  There was no menu selection everywhere to say he cannot do not Internet connection. However, I performed steps 1 to 7 and then made a point to avoid the Net menu selections. Now, it seems is not to search for the connection and all mentions of him flies by without pause. So, it's better than before.

• OTP-S5100 - "unable to start the server" - but he DOES not see my computer!

  I had a devil of a time with this option. Finally, and without provocation, the ability to reference the media from my computer suddenly started to work a couple of months. However, as I add new video files, new files do not show upward (but in the same directory as the others). Finally, I tried to move all files to a new directory and then he set up through media center to access this directory. It worked fine, but then the same thing again - new files, but that it would not come up on top of the list.

  Ended up trying to move all the files a cople of days earlier in another directory again. Now, the unit sees my computer, but it is grayed. When I click on it, all I get is a screen that says "failed to start the server. Wait a few moments, and then reselect the same server or put the server media market. "Then, of course, I closed the PC & BDP several times, but does not. Just a list of my computer all the gray.

  I checked the settings of my PC (Windows 7) - Home Group (check), automatic WMP streaming (check), firewalls (none... check). New programs (none... check). Nothing seems to work.

  You may need to update your content to media library... I don't know how, but I use Tversity and I must have analyze directories from time to time.

• OTP-S5100 vs BDP-BX510? Any difference?

  Any difference between these two models? The S5100 is usually sold through retail sales, but the BX510 seems to be exclusive to Costco.

  No difference other than the BDP-BX510 comes with a HDMI cable.  The manual is for two players https://docs.sony.com/release/BDP-BX510_S5100.pdf.  My guess is that there is an American version and a version not American.

• Can I play FLAC with OTP-S5100?

  I intend to buy a new Blu - Ray player in the coming weeks. Sony BDP-S5100 is my choice. One thing I need to know and it's important for me, I can play formats FLAC with this Blu - Ray player? Read in a magazine that the format of this Jack in charge of player FLAC, but no information on FLAC in the Specification section of player on Sony sites. Help, please.

• Not play disc Blu - ray 3D OTP-S5100, stuck on the screen indicating the needs a 3D player.

  I just bought a Blu - ray BDP-S5100 3D player.  I have Panasonic 3D plasma TV.  When I tried to play a Blu - ray 3D disc, a blue screen telling me, in several languages, the drive requires a 3D player came and it never happened.  The player plays a normal Blu - ray disc very well.  I have all the other drives 3D or 3D drive (this is my first entry in Blu - ray and 3D), so I can't test to see if the problem is with the drive or disc.  Anyone seen this before?  Is there something I can do to get the drive to read, or is it a fatal error?  Thank you!

  I just realized what is the problem.  My Blu - ray player is passing through my receiver and then goes to my TV.  I guess that prevents the appropriate signal to spend, so the 3D player does not recognize or cannot connect properly to the 3D TV.  I just plugged the S5100 directly to my TV and the 3D disk plays very well.  I used a digital audio coaxial cable the S5100 in my tuner so now I surround again.

  Does not connect to Netflix... just guard showing the same message for about 5 seconds and goes directly to the previous screen.

  Using a Mac OS X and PS3 Media Server software I play all files mp4 video, but not all srt subtitles files that accompany the video files. Little game, some do not. The mp4 format is the same in all the mp4. So Mrs.

  I just turned on my blu - ray player to watch some Netflix, but it DISAPPEARED.  MLB.tv is GONE.  Amazon is GONE.  Everything is GONE.  I tried a factory reset repeatedly.  Unplugged.  Turn off the power.  The 'store' app isn't here, either, so I can't change anything.

  I managed to solve this problem via the customer support chat (many accessories for Aiden to technical support):

  -Press the button on the remote control.

  -Select

  -Select

  -Select

  It worked for me.  Hope it helps others, too.

• OTP-S5100 does not connect with the remote control for Sony App

  When I find devices in the remote for Sony app on my Nokia Lumia 925 blue ray player displays a code on the screen that I'm supposed to get into the app to set up the connection, but I can't find a way to enter this code into the application.  Everything I touch the recording BAROMETER.

  At this point, the media remote is only available on android and iOS.

• OTP-S185 - helps to connect to Internet

  Good evening

  I bought a reader Blu - Ray BDP-S185 and fight so he can connect to the internet.  I have the drive connected to a LAN cable to my laptop to Apple (OS x 10.6.8) which shares its WiFi Ethernet connection (I know it works as I have an XBOX that gets its internet connection from the computer apple laptop when necessary!).  I have the following settings on my laptop:

  -Ethernet IP 10.0.0.1 address.

  The IP address of my router is 192.168.1.1

  On the Blu - Ray player I've tried Auto connect, but failed.  I then manually enter the following settings:

  IP address: 10.0.0.2

  Subnet mask: 255.0.0.0 (note this is also detected by my laptop IP Ethernet subnet mask)

  Default gateway: 10.0.0.1

  Primary DNS: 192.168.1.1

  Secondary DNS: 192.168.2.1

  I did put the Proxy Server for the Blu - Ray player option.

  Now on the BDP S185, when I go to "Network Diagnostics" I said "network connections are correct."

  In addition, the State of the network on the Blu Ray says physical connection: OK, Internet access: OK

  When I go to all services 'Internet Video' in the menu of Blu Ray players, I am presented with an end-user license agreement (previously, before that my 'Internet access' was 'OK' I have nothing, so I guess it's actually picking up the Internet).

  When I click on "I accept and next" I get a 'Status of Conection content Internet' box that says "connection to the Internet video service... (1/3) "after a certain time (with a line with a blue pulse goes fell on it), I get a new message box indicating ' connection status cannot be confirmed."  A network error has occurred.  You want to set Internet settings? "If I click on Yes, then I get caught for the installation of the network which says everything is fine."

  For more information, when I go to the "System information" page, I have the version of the software M09. R.0042 (which seems to be the most recent version).  I have a LINK connection status: succeeded but a commissioning server connection status: failed.

  Please can someone help me solve this problem! I would like to be able to use the features announced for my Blu Ray player otherwise I may as well have wasted my money!  The manual is pretty useless to help me to Setup/diagnose the problem!

  Thanks for the detailed explanation about the issue. It seems to be a small connection problem. I suggest that you perform the manual of installation of the Internet once again, by changing the last number in the sequence of four digits of the IP address.

  NOTE: Restart the player and the router before continuing.

   

  Change the last number to a higher number than the original but less than 254. For example, if the IP address on your computer is 192.168.0.5, enter 192.168.0.105

  If this is not enough, try to directly connect the LAN cable to the LAN of the drive port.

  If the problem persists, do factory reset in the player:

  Menu press HOME > Setup (suit case icon) > reset > all settings > OK

The proxy then asks the web page or content you are looking for your account and it is up to you. Actions of the proxy are performed automatically and are invisible to you. A proxy is useful for filtering of Internet content, Internet access through the firewall and archiving of web pages for a quicker recovery by connected users.

  Road Runner does not support the use of proxy servers and recommend to disable proxies through your browser.

  Most of the people do not use a proxy server, so if you don't set "No proxy" which is usually fine. If you do nothing, Firefox will usually follow your control panel, for example, the proxy settings used by Internet Explorer.
