OTP-S590 Netflix

I have a BDP-S590, before tonight, connected to Netflix without problem.  Tonight, when I turned on and selected Netflix it checked the network connection, and then went to the red Netflix screen where he landed.  After 10 minutes, I turned off and turn it back on, now, when I select Netflix in the menu, the screen goes black and nothing happens.

The device behaves as if he's locked up; None of the buttons on the player itself or the remote control will do anything.  I can't stop the player with the remote control or the power button, I have to disconnect the drive.

I can connect to the Amazon and the video stream without any problems, so it is related to Netflix.  I have reset the unit to default settings, nothing helped.  The network connection is excellent and I had no problem until tonight.

Anyone have any ideas?

Awesome!

  • OTP-S590 remote code question

Just set up my S590 and it works very well.

I have connected the S590 to my stereo system to Sony DAV - FC7 (via composite) for which I lost the remote control.

The remote control for the media player that I used until I'm the S590, who was a Philips DVD player with USB connection, allowed me to control the levels of the audio output of the player. This is possible using a custom firmware.

Now the remote S590 has a volume knob and I have a few questions:

    1. can I program the remote S590 to control the volume of the composite output of the S590 itself?

2 of universal remote would. what type you recommend which allows me to use the S590, DAV - FC7 and my Sharp TV?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello Tom

The volume button on the Blu - ray player's remote control is used to control the TV volume.
The player's remote control cannot be programmed to control the volume of the car radio.

You can use the code 18 to program the supplied remote control to the player to control the Sharp TV.

To buy a universal remote, you can contact the nearest Sony dealer.

    Kind regards

  • OTP-S3100 will not connect to Netflix

Have installed a BDP-S3100 and cannot connect to Netflix. He spent a lot of time on the chat support without success (both with Sony and Netflix). Here are the details:

    (1) Internet connection is fine (AT & T DSL). Have you tried both on the WiFi and direct Ethernet connection and the symptoms are identical.

    (2) access to the many other internet services (Amazon Prime, Pandora, YouTube) without problem.

    (3) selection of Netflix in the menu or with the Netflix button gives the same results.

    (4) error message is "unable to connect to Netflix. Please try again or visit: www.netflix.com/tvhelp, " and provides the options"Try Again,"(which does nothing) and 'Leave'."

    (5) have restarted (with long disconnect times) the Blu Ray player and my router once more than I can count.

    (6) have tried resetting to factory settings (all settings) and initialization of personal information several times.

    (7) when I try the 'up, up, down, low, left, right, left, right, upward, upward, upward, upward"sequences, get the following message:" the software Version: M14.» R.0142/2012.1.2; Netflix version: NMRDLIB 2012.1.2 - built to 00:48:26 June 30, 2013; ESN: SONY-13BDAKL100306NMJD = 3VC0OGESC; Device mode: Sony_AX; Last error: Network / 3 / host not found / https://uiboot.netflix.com/apps/htmltvui/upgrade_policy?v=2.0&e=... " (the url is long and goes on the right side of the screen).

    (8) I tried to disable the time of camps of Netflix device. I also disabled all the devices Netflix from my netflix account.

    (9) as stated above, I'm updating on the firmware. Suspected a misinstallation of the portion of the firmware netflix app, so I downloaded the CD to try to reinstall the latest firmware. The BDP-S3100 doesn't let me do... it checks that the version on the CD is the same thing and then stops the installation process.

    (10) tech support asked me to try www.speedtest.com from the browser in the OTP-S3100. It wouldn't connect (I know that the Internet itself is correct, because I could go to google). When I test the speed of the internet from a laptop that is connected either wireless or wired, I pretty much get the same internet speed: approx. 5.6 Mbps download. It's enough to watch instantly on Netflix. In addition, the errors I get are not indicating a speed too slow, they can not connect and the host was not found.

    Any suggestions would be welcome!

I'm sorry to hear what is happening with the reader. Repeat the installation of the network of the player, but you will have to manually, enter the IP address and change the primary DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 to secondary DNS. To manually enter information, refer to this article. Once finished with the installation of the network, access to Netflix.

If the problem persists, try to check the speed of your internet connection by going on www.2wire.com. Www.speedtest.net result represents the speed of internet searches and navigation while the result of www.2wire.com represents speed when streaming videos with larger files. The player must meet minimum internet speed of 2.5 Mbps for standard definition content and 10 Mbps for high definition content.

  • OTP-s3100 cannot connect to Netflix.

Connects to YouTube, Crackle and other with no problems.

Remote options with the NETFLIX highlighted shows no connectivity issues.

Try Netflix and I get UNABLE TO CONNECT, try again later.

    ToX

So for yucks, I brought my Blue ray for a House of friends who had 11 + on the scale of internet speed against my 2.57.

Everything was working on his wireless wi - fi.

So it seems Netflix needs more than 2.5 Mbps.

    ToX

Follow this link for troubleshooting if you get the error: cannot connect to Netflix. Please try again later.  Rerun the network setup and to manually enter the IP address of the player.  Change 8.8.4.4 8.8.8.8 primary DNS and Secondary DNS.

  • Sony BDP S590 playing all videos on YOUTUBE in 10 days today

S590 Sony Reader bpj, suddenly about 10 days, do not load more videos on Youtube. It says that the network is working, the same search of video works but then the opening, nothing, you see the player with the arrows forward stop, etc, but no loading screens, black, so, with all the videos. All other channels (Green tv, netflix work correctly)
I have reset the device, I tested the speed of the network (I have fiber) I have reset the home router, in short, I followed all the instructions but nothing, I declare that I have the WHITE icon rather than the black that is COMPATIBLE.

Someone here BY CHANCE solved somehow, because help you make here at Sony, I can do it too. Greetings to all

Instead of incompatible: for someone who has had this kind of problem, I solved it by setting the video mode from "full" to "normal". YouTube works fine now.
    Greetings to all.

  • No Netflix - Provisioning Server connection failed

Tonight, I'm suddenly unable to connect to any of the streaming services (Netflix, Amazon, etc.) through my Player DVD BDP-S590/BX59. When I checked the status of the network, everything was fine except for the following error: "Provisioning Server Connection Status: failed.

I made no changes to this player. When I check the status, the software is updated. My home network works fine. Can I use the DVD player for a wireless connection to my computer via a Serviio server to play music and video. I can also use the web browser of the DVD player to connect to websites such as the New York Times. The only mistake I can identify is the "Provisioning Server Connection Status: failed.

I contacted Sony support via their online chat and was quickly degenerated to a high-level technician. He doesn't seem to know the status of their provisioning servers; However, he recommended that I completely reset my DVD player.

Is anyone else having these problems tonight? In the past, it seems that the Provisioning Server outages have affected a large number of people.

  • Netflix captioning

I have a BDP-S570 and love it. As well as DVDs, I use it a lot to watch Netflix. One thing the Netflix app does not I wish it did, it was the opportunity to activate closed captioning / subtitles. When watching the same content from Netflix on my Kindle Fire I can.

I appreciate what may be a new feature of Netflix, but am curious if it is possible for my BDP-S570 to receive the same support. It is available in an update of the firmware?

FYI, this is fixed with the S390 and S590 2012 players. Management of customer of Netflix closed captions/subtitles.

YUPP TV app's question. Not sure why app YUPPTV Streaming always complains. "reading interrupted by low speed network. Please check to isp. Other applications (Netflix, Amazon OK IV works).

YUPPTV app worked perfectly before. Not sure why recent update broke the App Streaming TV YUPP.

Please do not say that the bandwidth is low. Bandwidth is more than enough for SIMPLE TV streaming as minimum requirement according to their site Web is 2 Mbps.

I comcase turbo (25 Mbps) connection. Check bandwidth using speedtest

    Download speed: 12 + Mbps

    Download speed: 5 + Mbps
