Our Windows 7 keeps closing down.

We had ongoing problems with our computor over the last 3mths.  My son re-installed Windows 7, but still the everymorning when we turn it on, it starts and then closes down.  We often receive messages stating that Windows Explorer has stopped working, or that it cannot display the Web page.  A PC Doctor run anti-virus programs, but nothing obvious has turned up.  He suggests that reinstall us Windows 7 once more.  Someone had this problem?

I should mention that the Pc Doctor has found a hardware problem - the fan above the PCU was consistent with the open air and had been like this for 2 months.  Computor then was actually turn on and outside, until he fixed it.  It is at first sight that perhaps the UCP have been damaged.

Get the BIOS varies from a system, generally, you press F1, F2 or deleting key during what is known as the POST or Power On Self Test, when you turn on your computer.  Most systems will tell you what button to press during this process.

After that, it's just a case of navigation in the menu to the system BIOS screen to find what is usually called a hardware monitor.  This will then show you the temperature of your processor and, eventually, the card mother too.

Would be what a safe temperature depends on what CPU you have.  However, anything more than 65 ° C would be considered too hot, especially when sitting idle in the BIOS.

If Windows displays a blue screen error, it would be useful that you could tell us what the error message says.

Thank you.

    Hello

Could be heat related - try using a small fan to blow into the air intakes to see if that helps.
It is just like it loses power or stop it in the normal way?

For a laptop on everything that you can do is reinstall the memory and clean the vents (try adding a)

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.

Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party

    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers

Symptoms: The lock screen appears after 1 minute of inactivity.

Details: The computer is a laptop ASUS U46E under Windows 7 Home Premium. Screensaver increased wait to 999 minutes and unchecked "on Resume, protect by password". • Explorer.exe windows folder keep closing on Alienware X 51 R2 Windows 8.1

    Hello

My problem is quite simple, but also quite a headache so let me give you a situation of portrait in the simplest of ways:

Say I open a folder in Explorer windows, the number of files currently opened is not serious it can go from 1 to 15 and still give me the same problem.

If the folder is open right? I can go and do other things, things... like browsing the net or watch a video. But all of a sudden the closed folder then actually do anything about explorer.exe closes so if I myself copy/move files that would repeal as well. Its as if explorer.exe decides to randomly restart.

Activities that I do that would trigger such an array of thing of the web browsing on any browser, to the modification of files, simply watching a video, even if a file is opened. Sometimes I think that it still can't do something in particular.

This question is a big headache and I had this happen with the default software supplied in the Windows 8.1

    My Info:

    PC: Alienware X 51 R2

    OS: Windows 8.1

GPU: Nvidia GTX 670 & Intel HD 4600

    CPU: i7 4 core 3.4ghz

    RAM: 8 GB

Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!

Please Note: I don't seem to have this problem on Windows 8, I also had installed Windows 7 on the same pc and have not encountered this problem so, maybe something is not especially nice with windows 8.1.

    Hello

    Please try the following fix:

    Kind regards.

  • You use the latest version, is it possible to keep an eye when closing down so that they automatically reload. Used to be able to do it on the earlier version?

Would always have several tabs with the web when closing down addresses so that the same tabs are available when you restart as you could with the previous version, so firefox. Is there a setting somewhere?

Record of the tabs was not removed from Firefox 4, but it works a little differently.

    • By default, Firefox 4 will not ask to save tabs, but instead it will always save your tabs on the output unless you're in private browsing mode. You can restore the next time by:

      1. by clicking on the Firefox button > history > "restore previous Session ', or
      2. type of Subject: House in the URL bar and press the Enter key, then press the button "restore previous Session."
    • Note: This was a decision by the developers. On this forum, we are all volunteers without compensation here to help other users. Develop them and employees of Mozilla/Firefox rarely, if ever visit here.

To display the message "save tabs and exit" when closing multiple tabs, you can do the following:

    1. Type of topic: config in the URL/address bar and press the Enter key
    2. Accept the warning message (promise to be careful)
    3. Open the preferences/list page
    4. Filter = browser.tabs.warnOnClose
    5. If its value is set to false, double-click top (in the lower panel) to toggle its value to true
    6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for the 3 following preferences also:
      • browser.warnOnQuit
      • browser.warnOnRestart
      • browser.showQuitWarning
    7. See:

Things to check if the tabs are not being saved to the output:

    1. Browsing history must be saved

      • Button Firefox: Firefox button > Options > Options > privacy > [X] Remember my browsing history
      • Menu bar: Tools > Options > privacy > [X] Remember my browsing history
    2. Also, make sure that you do not erase "Browsing history" when you use clear recent history or when Firefox is closed
      • Using clear recent history

        • Button Firefox: Firefox button > history > clear recent history
        • Menu bar: Tools > clear recent history
      • When Firefox is closed
    3. Make sure that you are not in private browsing mode or in private browsing mode permanent:
    4. If you have the Tab Mix Plus extension, and then clear the built-in session restore.
