OUTLOOK EXPRESS 6.0 - UNABLE TO ACCESS LINKS IN THE EMAILS

I'm under Oulook Express 6.0. For some reason any of the end, I was unable to use the links provided in emails from ' trusted' sites This means that somewhere in my system, I was blocked. I use XP Home Edition and AVG 2011. I'm not too competent in this area therefore would want receive no assistance. Regards Gary T.

If nothing happens when you click on a link:
Open Windows Explorer or on the control panel.
Go to tools | Folder options | Types of files.
Scroll to [NONE] URL: HyperText Transfer Protocol (NOT the shortcut URL: Internet) and select it.
Click Edit or advanced, depending on your version of Windows.
Choose 'open '.
Click on change.
"Application used to perform action" should read:
"C:\PROGRAM may EXPLORER\iexplore.exe" - nohome (check the path to)
Iexplore.exe to ensure that it is correct and use the double quotes).
DDE should be checked and in the boxes below, you should have:

IExplore
#3 (white)
#4
WWW_OpenURL
Protocol URL: HyperText Transfer with Privacy should be the same.
If the foregoing is correct, uncheck the box: Use DDE.

I move from a Windows XP computer to a Windows 7 computer. My old computer has Outlook Express. I've migrated successfully my emails and messages archived in Thunderbird on the new computer. I also migrated the Outlook Express address book using an external hard drive, but I was not able to understand how to find the Outlook Express address book in Thunderbird. You must tell Windows Search to stop indexing OE.
In the control panel. Indexing Options. Change. Clear the check box for Outlook Express.
If you see the prompt again, let the compact once to reset the counter and it should be.

I followed your instructions and now have "storage folders" visible. However that a single user account recorded message records showing if you keep double clicking and scrolling down. There are 3 other user accounts whose records are not visible. I tried as well by importing and using Windows Easy Transfer for all alphanumeric codes in Outlook Express. I signed into Live Mail using the other our of the user, but this does not solve the problem... Please tell us how to transfer files from my old computer Windows XP to the new W7 mail.

All of a sudden I can't click on the links in the emails. Internet access is always available via the browser, but when I click on a link it tells me "this operation has been cancelled to due to restrictions on this computer." How can I disable the restrictions?

Definitions of IOM email are sent in "plain text", so you cannot attach any hyperlink. If you want to send mails html you will need to develop an adapter to make this requirement (a little 'dirty' just to have links to this topic).
