Outlook express 6 switched to the annoyance of the window. Using broadband now

I recently changed my high speed line and just got my outlook express set up with new high speed address.

(I still have service with dial-up company for now also)

Crosses all OE6 implemented with service technology high speed.  for OE6 configured to operate at high speed.

We cannot get OE6 to work without this dial toward the top of the login window popping up, he said to contact microsoft.  I called them, they wanted $60 to help me, who cannot save now.

Problem: I have now an annoying "dial up connection" window that

keeps popping up when you use outlook express via broadband.

I can send and receive emails fine, but not without the 'dial up' connection window appear constantly and having to click on

'Cancel' to make it disappear.

It is said: "select the service you want to connect to.

Update:

Now redirected to my OE6 and I get emails from my dial-up AND high-speed addresses.    (2 companies diff.)

(annihilated my Inbox to my dial-up webmail too):<>

Can someone here help me for free?

[1] I have broadband in my accounts [Mail] 2 [times], thanks to the guys of tech of the company at high speed.

[2] I have also always get send via my e-mail of appeal

[3] [the Vista computer] does the same in the WinMail program with dial-up window popping up

A1. If two accounts are the same name [AT] domain.net address, you can simply delete one of them: Tools | Accounts | Mail: select (highlight) one account & click on the Remove button.

Tools | Accounts | Mail | [name] | Properties | General: no matter what you named the account (in the upper box) as long as everything in the boxes user information (e.g., name & E-mail address) is correct.

A2. If your old email address is still valid, and that you're having any problems receiving or sending messages, please not that it is. Do not forget that the old address will be invalid (don't work) shortly after you end your subscription for remote access (usually 30 days).

[I guess that your new ISP broadband is not the same as your old ISP modem.]

A3. Windows Mail is (intellectual disabilities) brother Outlook Express, so it works pretty much in the same way.

Ditto for their b * stard brother, Windows Live Mail.

[Yes, the names are very confused! [What were they thought?]

    Hello everyone.

I'm new to these forms. so I hope that I've posted to the correct form. Moderators please move my post if I'm in the wrong form.

My question is: when I opened the window of outlook express it opens in the window expand only.
I'm not able to resize the window.
When I try to enter this window with the mouse cursor and drag this window that does not either.
When I click Restore down the window will minimize in the taskbar.
the only way I can open re which minimize the window in the task bar it is right-click on it and select optimize.
also when I right click that minimize button in the task bar and the small box opens, the move, the size and the reduced are grayed out.
the exact behavior even happens when I open the Task Manager window and the window add / remove programs.

I am able to enter with the cursor of the mouse normally on IE8 Windows, Notepad window, WordPad and the Control Panel window and re size all of these windows.

    How can I fix?

I can't think of all the programs I have installed recently.

I am running Windows XP edition Home 32 x 86 SP3 with all current updates.
I am running IE8 with all current updates.
I am running McAffee internet Security with all current updates...
I think that my skills with windows and computers are a little below average I think.

I would appreciate a response and assistance :)

    Thanks in advance
    Charles

    Hi Charles,

Try to connect with different profile and see if the problem persists? Say to connect as an administrator and see if the problem is repeated here.

If you are already connected as long as administrator, try to create a different profile-> click on Start-> settings-> Control Panel-> users and accounts. (http://www.ehow.com/how_2078860_create-new-user-account-windows.html)

If everything works well, copy your problematic profile to this new profile data see: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811151

    I hope this helps.

Outlook Express 6 just ate the value of year of my emails.  They seem to have disappeared.  This happened after I was asked if I wanted compact (or was it archive?) my emails.  All hope of recovery?

    Thank you!

Please read this in its entirety. It includes the restoration of the trash.

Two reasons the most common for what you describe is disruption of the compacting process, (never touch anything until it's finished), or bloated folders. More about that below.

Why OE insists on compacting folders when I close it? :
    http://www.insideoe.com/FAQs/why.htm#compact

    Why mail disappears:
    http://www.insideoe.com/problems/bugs.htm#mailgone

    Recovery methods:

If you are running XP/SP3, then you should have a backup of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin (or possibly the message store), copied as bak files.

To restore a folder bak on the message store folder, first find the location of the message store.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, the .dbx files are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.

Close OE and in Windows Explorer, click on the dbx to the file missing or empty file, then drag it to the desktop. It can be deleted later once you have successfully restored the bak file. Minimize the message store.

Open OE and, if the folder is missing, create a folder with the * exact * same name as the bak file you want to restore but without the .bak. For example: If the file is Saved.bak, the new folder should be named saved. Open the new folder, and then close OE. If the folder is there, but just empty, continue to the next step.

First of all, check if there is a bak file already in the message. If there is, and you have removed the dbx file, go ahead and rename it in dbx.

If it is not already in the message, open the trash and do a right-click on the file bak for the folder in question and click on restore. Open the message store up and replace the .bak by .dbx file extension. Close the message store and open OE. Messages must be in the folder.

If messages are restored successfully, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the desktop.

If you have not then bak copies of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin:

DBXpress run in extract disc Mode is the best chance to recover messages:
    http://www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/default.aspx

    And see:

    http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#4

A general warning to help avoid this in the future:

Do not archive mail in default OE folders. They finally are damaged. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:

  • In Outlook Express, can not see the file tab, such as page moves right

I can't move the Outlook Express mail page to the right.  It just won't go further to the right.  I get the arrow on the right side, but he doesn't hover over.   So I don't see the file, only a part of the Mail tab tab (-Arnaud).

It is not really clear what you mean.  You can move the entire window of OE by clicking on the title bar (blue at the top of the window) and hold the mouse and then moving the mouse.  It is also not clear what you hear on the mail tab and the file tab.  Are you sure you're saying OE and not Outlook?  You can also try view | Layout to change what is displayed.

  • How to get my Outlook Express, I had before the crash and restore?

My computer crashed so bad I had to click on the f10 key, but it did a restore and I lost my Outlook express, even my e-mail provider windstream has been lost and now, they can't recognize my old login, can't my email even with the same settings as I had typed out after that I started usuing Windstream in 2010 my address book is gone! can not get my address book! My new outlook Express6 has a released check it out, but when I click on it nothing happens. I used it even though my intention was not to send an e-mail, I am a bad speller! I'm very confused with my old outlook Express and the address book. The news is very disappointing!

According to Bruce, you will need to search for *.dbx to locate the directory of dbx files.  Make sure that you have configured to display the hidden files and folders and do not hide the extensions of the types of files known as control panel | Folder options | View.  Also when research conduct an advanced search and include files and folders hidden in the advanced search parameters.  The address book is a wab, so also the search for *.wab file.  When find you them, then use the file | Import | Messages and files. Import | Address book to get back them.  See also www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#4 and www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx for background information.

If you have formatted the drive when you did reinstall it, then the old files have disappeared.  My DBXpress program has a record feature which can recover some of the lost messages (see www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/).

To the properties of your account, you need to collate Windstream or check their Web site for the correct settings.

  • When sending emails with Outlook Express, they sit in the Outbox and don't move to sent items.

My system is XP Microsoft w/Internet Explorer 7.  My online service is through netzero.  I started having problems several weeks ago about my Outlook Express.  In the last whe I send a file, he crossed for recipients and also would go directly to my sent folder.  Now adays, occasionally, the info is sent to recipients but does not go to my sent folder and the express pointed out a mistake and put my email in the Outbox.  I have to move it to project from the Outbox folder or the system keeps trying to return.  He goes to the recipients, but not in my sent folder.  What's wrong?

    original title: Microsoft Outlook Express

You have apparent dbx file corruption.

Spend most of your messages out of the Inbox and then create new folders to send and sent items box after having moved the messages you want to save to a local folder that you create.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

With OE closed, find the DBX files for the items in the Outbox and sent and delete them.  New ones will be created automatically when you open OE.

After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

    General precautions for Outlook Express:

Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

  • How can I create a list of contacts on Outlook Express. I found the answer in help, but cannot locate elements, on what he asked me to click

Remember - this is a public forum so never post private information such as numbers of mail or telephone!

    Ideas:
How can I create a group or a list of contacts on Outlook Express.  I found the answer in help, but cannot locate elements, on what he asked me to click

    • You have problems with programs
    • Error messages
    • Recent changes to your computer
    • What you have already tried to solve the problem

If you're running Vista, you have Windows Mail, not Outlook Express. These instructions for adjustment of these two programs.

To create a group of contacts:

You can create a single group name (or alias) to use when sending a message to several contacts at the same time. Just create a group name and add individual contacts to the group. Then just type the name of the group in the box for when you send mail.

    1. in the address book, select the folder in which you want to create a group. Click New in the toolbar, and then click New Group.
    2. the Properties dialog box opens. In the group name box, type the name of the group.
    3. There are several ways to add people to the Group:
    a. to add a person from your address book list, click Select members, and then click a name in the address book list.
    (b) to add a person directly to the group without adding the name to your address book, type the person's name and e-mail address at the bottom of the Properties dialog box and then click Add.
to add a person to both the Group and your address book, click New Contact and enter the appropriate information.
    (d) to use a directory service, click Select members, and then click search. Select a directory service in the drop-down list at the end of the text box. After finding and selecting an address, it is automatically added to your address book.
    4. Repeat for each addition until your group is defined.

    Note

    a. to view a list of your groups separately from the list of address book in the address book on the view menu, make sure that folders and groups is selected.

    b. you can create multiple groups, and contacts can belong to several groups.

If you want to send to a group without addresses are displayed for each recipient, open the address book and make a new entry. Enter the name of the group in the area of the display, but use your address. (Some Internet service providers require a legitimate address in the line to and recipients will know it's from the Group).

Click on the button to. Enter the name of the group using your address. Enter the group in the BCC field.

  • Transferring Outlook Express files from old XP machine to new Windows 7 computer?

Is it possible to do it and get all the information from Outlook Express in Thunderbird? Tried several different methods without success. Transfer of Windows is says "no file found". I'm assuming that the files must be on the same computer so that it works?
    Thank you

    You are welcome!

To find the folder on the old computer, start Outlook Express, and then click Tools > Options > maintenance > store folder .  By default, this is C:\Documents and Settings\Settings\Application Data\Identities\ {string of letters, numbers-} \Microsoft\Outlook Express.  To see it, enable the display of hidden files and folders in the Control Panel > Folder Options > view .

Close Outlook Express, and then copy the entire folder to the new computer by using a network connection, external drive, USB flash drive, etc.

As I said, reported for an installation by the manufacturer OEM of Windows key code reflects the image of their system and not the license key on the sticker that is what is needed for a re-installation of consumer, is not surprising that the Samsung 2 is the same.  The key to the thumbnail is not stored anywhere other than on the tile.

If you cannot or do not want to clone the disks, you can buy a recovery media set at the manufacturer or new media of Windows 7 (becomes very expensive and problematic for the commercial version that MS no longer sells it).
