Outlook Express says cannot send e-mail because of lack of memory.

With the help of OE I get a failure of shortage of memory trying to send an email of 353 MB.   I have a memory of 1.99 GB, XP3 and closed other programs.

What is going on?

aquaries

I tried the solution of Steve and unresolved issue.  However, to instead a message of lack of memory the program OE plant.

I tried to send smaller attachments in zip (79 M) records and the program when you select the attachment, it blocks.

I tried a 10 M zip file and the method was successful.  So somewhere between 10 and 79M EO can respond and locks upward.

Has OE code messages and he needs memory and time for it.  You take the system to its limits and there is not a lot we can do about it.  You're just going to have to be stuck with smaller attachments sending, or use some other file transfer protocol that does not have OE.  You could try webmail, if you have access to it.

Thank you to everyone out there for your help!

You have apparent dbx file corruption in sent items and possibly the Outbox.

Spend most of your messages out of the Inbox, and then create the new box of sent, and sent items files after you move the messages you want to save to a local folder that you create.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

With OE closed, find the DBX files for the items in the Outbox and sent and delete them.  New ones will be created automatically when you open OE.

After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

    General precautions for Outlook Express:

Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

  • How to stop outlook express does not send emails more because of an email earlier had a wrong address

Sorry if this is an old topic but I can't find any info about it:

Sending 6 or 7 emails via outlook express, if you have a bad email address none of the sent emails after will go that they all sit in the Outbox queue behind the bad email. is there any how to make outlook express send other emails and just let the bad email? It is very annoying because I don't get to see the real prospects and know its happened when people say that they did not receive the email

Is the message with the wrong address still in the Outbox?

It is a question that is more how your ISP handles these messages. Some will accept the message and send you a Mailer Daemon note that the message has been delivered. In this case, it left your Outbox.

Other service providers Internet will not accept the message to all who let her in your Outbox and blocks all future messages. There is no setting in OE to get around the policy from your ISP.

    Does that help?

  • Outlook Express doesn't send e-mail. 0x800CCC79 error number

I'm moving from one computer to the other.  Both Internet Explorer 6.00.2900.5512.  I think I have all the same settings.  But my new computer doesn't send emails.  He received very well.  Can not answer.  Get the following error message (address of the recipient has been deleted):

The message cannot be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was ' * address email is removed from the privacy *'. Subject 'test', account: 'embarqmail.com', server: "smtp.embarqmail.com", Protocol: SMTP, server response: 554 authentication has failed, have to login', Port: 25, secure (SSL): no, Server error: 554, error number: 0x800CCC79

That said, you're not authenticate correctly to the outgoing server.  Apparently, embarqmail requires that you authenticate to use their mail server.  On the "Outgoing server" tab of your e-mail account properties, check the box indicating that you must connect to the server.  It may also be true that embarqmail requires the use of one port other than 25, such as 465 or 587.  I saw it mentioned in a single reference that port 25 with authentication but no encryption should be used and in one other than port 587 with authentication and SSL must be used.  See the documentation that gave you your service provider or visit their help pages. • Outlook Express 6 - cannot send emails.

\\first time in 6 years that I had no problem with OE. All of a sudden, I find that I continue to receive but can't send emails. Error message says "Protocol SMTP, Port 25. Secure SSL, error 10060 Socket error no 0x800CCCOE. I tried to change the port to 587 but no change. I also ran 'telnet smtp.gct21.net 25' and that's ok - SMTP not blocked not any ideas to solve the problem?

If you have the ability to access webmail, check and verify that it works very well.  Otherwise try to remove your e-mail account and then close and reopen OE and add it back again.  As Bruce says, make sure that the antivirus software is not interfering.  See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3

  • Conversion of Outlook Express .dbx to Microsoft Live Mail issue box for receiving and sending files conversion

I am able to convert most of my old Outlook Express files to Microsoft Live Mail, with the exception of the Inbox, and send files.   The two files are not empty.  My OS is Windows 7 64 bit.  The 'Files' file is located in the directory with the .dbx files.  Most of the files have been converted except these two.  The converted file sent.

Can advise you on what to do to fix this?  I need the information contained in the Inbox, and send.   I have more access to Outlook Express.

    Best regards, Kat

Unless you left no messages in the Outbox, it must be empty. Messages are just going through there on the way to your mail server.

Folders.dbx is the "brain" of the system of dbx files and contains all the actual messages.

Now regarding the messages from the Inbox, I don't know why they won't matter in Windows Live Mail. You compact the folders in OE before saving the message store? WLMail has great trouble with import of dbx files. How do you backup and transfer the storage of OE with dbx files folder?

If you still have access to the machine with OE, it would be easy to fix. Given that you don't do it, you probably have two options.

If you have professional, enterprise or ultimate edition, you can use OE in XP Mode. Who can import all the messages and then we can transfer it to WLMail.
