Output of PID VI looks to On / Off signal

Hi all

I'm new to requests for PID and currently starting a project involving the PID of a heater of air command. I came across some problems and I'd appreciate really all of the suggestions here

The installation consists of a cDAQ-9174 with RTD module (for example NOR-9217) and an output module current (NOR-9265). The process variable is the incoming temperature which is extracted from the RTD, and current output module sends the output of PID of 4-20mA to the incubator, 4mA is equivalent to heating off, and everything above that turns heater at different levels as a result.

I found a sample program on the site OR I have changed according to my installation. PID loop rate is 10 Hz, and for this I used the calendar software (please see the attached VI). The output for the PID VI range is set to 4-20mA.

During execution of the program, we can see RTD works well (process variable updates correctly), but the output of the PID VI signal varies between these two extremes (4 MA or 20 MA), which apparently turned into a On / Off attached template instead of PID (see the "On-off MV.jpg" screenshot). As a result, the oscillating system in undesirable ways.

I looked at the example LabVIEW, ran to some of them, programs and they seem to work well. I also looked to their diagrams and outside the middle range output different (default is from-100 to 100), I can't see any significant difference for the other parameters to the PID VI.

Was there everything I hard set, or was there something I missed? Any help will be greatly appreciated... Thank you!!

Best regards

Victor

If you want to be using PID loops you need to learn about the setting of a PID.  There is a lot of information around on the internet on how to do and there are different methods depending on who you talk to.

How is it tuned and the small selected output range will make things very quickly.  What you can do is to change the output of pid to 0-100 range.  Then you can use the percentage of PID to EGU vi use the output of the pid to control your 4-20mA signal.  So the 0-100 =.004 A02.  Then, you must always set the PID to your system.

  • output of PID

    Hello

I have problems with my pid in the sense that it displays only 2 values(min_and_max).i have tried different gains and yet it will not work properly.can someone help me please? the process I'm tring to control is an oven, and I use NEITHER 6024E and CSC-2345. (I also tried without the dt s, using a simple wait in the while loop, but it is not influence it)

Your output range is tiny (0 to 0.02).  In the meantime your comments seems to be on a much larger scale.  Your P gain being 20, any error (difference between setpoint and variable processes) greater than 0.001 will be enough to drive the full output or full out (20 * 0.001 = 0.02).  You need either a larger output range (and then scale before you send the output to the DAQ hardware) or much smaller gains (which could result in the loss of some mathematical precision).

  • Captivate output 9: the legend text is cut off

    Hello

I publish a course "for devices", a sensitive project. In some cases, my text on screen, placed in the text of the legend, is cut according to the size of the viewport. I hope that the text would rather than cut across. Regardless of the browser or the device - is the same. On each of the three sizes different default (from office, portrait of mobile tablet portrait), I fixed the text to fit. In the view of the office, I had my bounding box where I want and say that the font size is 24. According to the portrait of Tablet, I have slightly modified the framework encompassing and also changed the font size, let's say 16.

If a browser window is between one of these formats, the text is truncated and sometimes words are missing or cut off showing only a part of the letters. I looked on the blogs and I googled all out.

Does anyone else have this problem? Do I need to add provisions to display additional window for these intermediate sizes in order to minimize the probability of that happening? Or is it a setting I'm missing? I'm doing something wrong or is this a bug?

    You must DESELECT Autosize captions!

With respect to the position properties, I would set the width in % and the height to Auto. Which should force the fixed aspect ratio.

  • Is it save to use the digital output as a digital input for another channel signal

    Hi all

I know it's a stupid question, but I don't have another generator of signals by hand. What I want to know is, can I use the signal digital output of my USB-6001 as an input for the same signal device, but on other digital port? I wasn't directly because I don't want to burn the device...

    Thank you

Done all the time. No problems.

  • Output VGA to laptop, it has a digital signal?

I have a Presario A900 (A961EM) with a VGA output. I want to connect it to my HDMI TV that has an HDMI plug. If I connect to laptop to my TV with a HDMI VGA cable, it'll work with video and sound?

I am very sure that it does not work, I'm afraid...

VGA is an analog signal, digital HDMI.

If you have a DVI on TELEVISION port, you'll be able to connect with a DVI VGA cable.

Also, VGA carries NO reliable data, so you need to connect the sound, via the headphones.

    Hope this helps

  • create 4 pulse digital output at the base of the ttl input signal

    Hello

I am a beginner in Labview and would welcome advice on how to solve the following problem.

I'm setting up a train of pulses TTL and would like to send in Labview as input.  Each falling edge detected on the input signal, I would like to as Labview to generate 4 pulse digital output.  For each output pulse, I would like to be able to specify the period and duration.       The image should illustrate more clearly, with the figures showing the expected scale.

System: NI PCI-6733 data acquisition card, Labview 8.5

My daq card has 2 timers 24-bit and 8 e / s digital, but I don't know what the best approach is to create between the pulse output of 4 to 8 of this precision... should it be handled at the hardware or software level?  And how would I go about it

    Thank you

    -Sidney

    Hi noli.

I found the problem, in fact PCI-6733 support only avoiding the digital output. The timing of software is limited to 1 kHz in case better.

I'm sorry, but this function is not possible with a PCI-6733.

    Concerning

  • OFF state of PCI-6514 output card

I have a card PCI-6514 and have connected + 24 V to VCC and 0V from feeding to COM.

I can measure 3V in all output pins when they are in the OFF state. Otherwise, when I activate the outputs they measure almost 24V dc.

I am concerned about the 3V which is always present on pins output even when the pieces are all in the OFF state. Is this normal? (Two new maps are behave this way)

  • Output digital NI 6224, acting abnormal when the PC off.

    Dear all,

I use NI 6224 to control cylinders, light turn and etc.

Just output port Act abnormal during PC power off, and it return to its original position, which he assumed to be when PC power on.

Is where all the parameters available in MAX be able to solve this problem?

    Thank you.

    Anson,

The PCI card is powered by the PC.  When the PC is turned off, the card has no power. Without power, it is in an undefined state.  Most likely, it presents an impedance moderately high what whether at its release.  If external devices by default entries = high when not actively pulled low (which is the case for the TTL), then the power off of the State of the 6224 may resemble high logic for external devices.

There is no way that the PCI-6224 (or any other logic device standard) can control his outputs when it has no power.

If these devices may still have power when the computer is turned off, then you need to add a couple of circuits integrated between exit security digital and external devices.  The details depend on what these devices require, how fast you need to disconnect and other factors.

  • type of digital output USB-6216

    Hello

I am wanting to use the outputs digital on the USB-6216.

Are the open collector output?  I couldn't find this information explicitly in the user manual.  According to 6.4 Figure in the user manual, showing the connection LED to channel 1, it seems that the output must be open collector (to get off the power, turn on the LED).  Is this correct?

    Thank you.

A push-pull output can drive an LED very well.  Look at the specifications, page 8. It shows low and high current drive for outputs levels.  This device has no collector lines opened.

  • PID state machine problem

    Hello.

I have a problem with my design of State machine and I need help to know what to do.

I m using a state machine six steps for HVAC test machines. Password-> Idle it down-> Run-> Acquire-> Report--> Shut. Run and acquire the States have PID controls in them (almost identical States) and very fast three-way-valves they´re for the desired control of the temperatures of the water mixture. I m running try to get static values for temperatures and I m satisfied with them, moving to acquire the State to get the data in the report. My problem is that when the race to acquire, PID control outputs from scratch and at that time there static temperatures have disappeared. Worst case is that the tested machine HVAC stops following liquids from bad weather and I start from the beginning.

Is there a way to tell the PID.vi the release of starting a specific value? In this case, continue to the last value that they released in the State of enforcement?

I know that scheluding of gain would do (machines would be not closed) but I Don t want to use it because the original problem would still be there.

    Arctic_Fox wrote:

So PID vi:s remove from the state machine, placing them inside the while loop that surrounds the state machine and leaving all necessary writing DAQmx-functions inside the race and the States Acquire would make corrections on the positions of the valve only on those two States. Right?

It is a good idea.  I leave the DAQmx functions outside the state machine as well.  If you need to write a fixed value for the outputs when the PID is not running, use the PID that you already have to determine the value to write (output PID or anything else) on/off switch.  In addition, I would make sure the reset of PID entry is true whenever the PID is not running.

  • USB 6525 6501 digital for output to the step motor

    Hello

I try to use USB 6501 or USB-6525 out of step motor signals which command the stepper motor. My questions are

    (1) do I 6525 USB, I'm not sure the function of it (perhaps as a relay).

    (2) now I connected input 5V for USB-6501 "+ 5V" pin and GND to pin "GND". On the other side (output side), I connected ' enable '(from motor drive) to P0.0. 'direction' to P0.1 and GND to GND.  Can I use the express signal to test, the error says "lack of entry."

    (3) I guess the next step is programming labview. Does anyone know of similar examples?

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Melody,

If the engine must input external logic level I advise to use the USB-6501, which is just a digital I/o card. The USB-6525 housing does not have the digital outputs to control your motor drive. If I understand correctly you just try to turn the motor on and off with a digital signal. It seems that you also provide your drive motor + 5 v and GND. The USB-6501 has channels for + 5V and GND. I've attached an example of navigation that controls the outputs digital using DAQmx and LabVIEW. This specific programme allows to control 8 digital output lines, but it looks like you don't have one. If the engine waiting for you just a strong to put logic in operation and a logic low to shut down this program example will be able to turn on or turn off your engine. Just connect one of the USB-6501 digital output lines and then use the program to this line of control.

I don't really know any reason, you need to use the USB-6525 it seems to me that the USB-6501 run action you need. I hope this helps.

  • Missing CD drive and Audio output. Compaq Pressario V600

    Hi all

Need help with my daughters laptop Compaq Presario V600. It worked perfectly until recently and all night, lost the CD/DVD drive and sound card

I have searched and tried all sorts of fixes to look in the Device Manager to remove the cd and then drive re-booting the PC (but there is no CD/DVD not listed anywhere in the Device Manager) I tried to delete upper and lower filters in the registry (courtesy of Microsoft) , but does nothing. According to the Device Manager and search him in the PC there is no CD/DVD or an audio output device installed tried to start in safe mode to search for drivers... still nothing

I searched on the site of HP/Compaq drivers and DL the driver audio and installed, still nothing... really don't know where to turn. Anyone able to help? My daughter fell into a PC repair shop who said it was one of those things with tops to turn Compaq...

    Thanks in advance

  • Add TV LCD LG as an audio output device when connected with HDMI

When I connected my laptop to my TV via HDMI, the sound came through the television. But I went to the audio output of the laptop by accidentally turning off the TV as a device on the selection screen of the "playback devices". Now I want to spend my audio back to my TV, but the device is no longer an option. How it add or repair?

    Hello

    Method 1.
Please update the video card drivers, but also the audio drivers and then check if you have the ability to change the audio device by default.

Update your sound driver in Device Manager:
    a. Click Start and then click Control Panel
    b. click on system and Maintenance
    c. under Device Manager, click on devices and equipment display
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue
    d. expand sound, video and game controllers
    e. right click on your Audio Controller, and then click Properties
    f. Select the driver tab
    g. click the Update Driver button.
    h. Select the option automatically search for an updated driver

Windows will now look for an update for your Audio drivers locally and on the internet and then will guide you through the process of installing the driver.

For more information see the links below:
Updated a hardware driver that is not working properly

Another question, activated the notification on the RTC Server definition page? If this is the case, her remember you set an SMTP server as well in the CRP configuration file, or turn it off.

In any case, according to your last output (not able to stop the CRP), I think that the distribution agent queue hangs, somehow, you can have a large number of reports, please, report the status of the process (maybe they are stuck to the 'Report' status) and the error messages in the log file that might help identify the root cause. One way to avoid collisions is to increase the number of instances PSDSTSRV, change the min = 2 max = value 4 or higher.
