. Ovf failure package deployment - inconsistent backup device specified for the '7' device

Hi all

While trying to install the virtual machine based on the deployment of the package .ovf, I came across the following problem:

"Incompatible device Backing specified for the"7"device".

At the beginning I had at my disposal a .ovf package created in VMware ESXI 5.1. My intention was to use it to install box virtual machine in VMware ESXI 5.5. I realized without having big problems with the installation.

In the next step, I created another package .ovf, taking for base virtual machine already running in VMware ESXI 5.5. Then I tried to deploy built in this model of .ovf medium to clone the virtual machine in VMware ESXI 5.5.

Unfortunately during the Import exported first of all on the same model of VMware ESXI .ovf 5.5 install almost the same machine I got the following error message:

Incompatible device specified for the '7' device support?

Can you please how to cope with this problem, or at least what the error message refers to? I was looking on the internet the cited 'success of 7' but wihout peripheral.

Thanks and regards,

ELRA

In most cases, there could be some hardware associated with the virtual machine when you first export the ovf.  Now on the destination where you try to deploy there do not have this device and its origin of the error.

See if you had a CD-ROM / Audio or video or any other devices were attached with the virtual machine when you first did an OVF. ?

I'm trying to use vcbmounter to perform a full backup of a virtual machine. After the snapshot is run, I get the following error:

I've narrowed the problem to a second disc which I configured on 90% of my virtual machines. The second disc is where I placed the OS swap file. If I move the swap file and remove the second SCSI disk, hey presto, it works.

VCB does not save the second SCSI disk? Is this something unique to me? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

Your problem is probably have two files vmdk bearing the same name. This happens usually if the second disc is on a different data store. You must rename the second disc with vmkfstools.

  • Receive error message when you open Outlook; the path specified for the file G:\outlook...pst is not valid.

I recently exported my outlook to a pst file and saved on my external hard drive.  Since then I get this message when I open Outlook "the path specified for the file G:\outlook...pst is not valid.  How to stop?

NEVER use the. Functions of export/import PST in Outlook.  They are broken, have been for some time, data loss and often corrupt Outlook profile in use. To perform a backup, just close Outlook and make a COPY of the. PST file.  Looks like (and I guess here) your external HD is G:\. This being the case, that. PST file is probably still attached to Outlook and Outlook can't find it.  With Outlook open, see the supplement files pane. PST file, right-click, and then click "close".  You may need to have the hard drive external and exported. File PST attached and available for work.  If this does not work, you have damaged your profile and will need to make a new one:

  • ORA-01438: value larger than the precision specified for the column '

When inserting the different entries of cheaper products in this table PF_PRODUCT_VIEWS_PROFILE, I'm having this problem of "java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01438: value larger than the precision specified for the column '.»

As I see it in the tables (desc pf4. PF_PRODUCT_VIEWS_PROFILE; & PFCA4 of ESCR. DCS_PRICE_LEVEL;), I see the accuracy for the price of the table PF_PRODUCT_VIEWS_PROFILE as NUMBER (12.7) & accuracy for the price of the table DCS_PRICE_LEVEL as NUMBER (19.7). There is therefore a difference in precision 7 units for the price in the PF_PRODUCT_VIEWS_PROFILE table that is causing this problem. So that would be the solution.

Could you please post my comments, so that I can change the accuracy for the price of the PF_PRODUCT_VIEWS_PROFILE table.
Need to confirm other columns in the table PF_PRODUCT_VIEWS_PROFILE does not exceed their precision values before making this change.

    Hello

Ideally avoid data loss as you increase the length of the column as it really is. You have to worry about this in the case if you reduce the length. It is always better to be doubly sure, so also check other tables.

  • Backup large pictures for the library

Cloud storage providers allow backup 120 GB of the photo library?  I Onedrive and it won't synchronize above 10 GB files.

I saved in the external storage device, but I would like to have the backup in the cloud.

iCloud library is not a backup at all - it is a method of synchronization and sharing to keep several identical devices and be able to view your library in iCloud

And so far no base backup has worked with iPhoto or Photos (and are not likely to) - you need good local backups - Time Machine is a good start and a clone bootable inauguration is as good

  • backup video files for the web?

I got about 20 discs hard stuff firewire.  Recently had a fire, here, with no drastic results, but it scares me.

Is there a safe way to save these readers to the ether?

I understand that different save sets break files into pieces.  I can't imagine how it works for files video and comps.

Anyone had any experience with this?

If it's really important, you might have more luck finding a local storage / archival or some members of the family to another House and store some backup disks with them. I don't think that the storage of online backups is a viable alternative for the amount of data we are talking about. It will cost you a lot of money, you don't get those gigabytes for free anywhere and the downloads are hairy. you are also still at risk of the supplier goes out of business or deleting your files for some reason any. Directly related to fire-related damage, you can also consider a steel tempered light Cabinet / Treasury Board. But as with all the other stuff, it should always weigh the cost against the risk of a fire happening or any other damage that occur... ultimately, it may not be worth and fees, if you cannot deduct as a business investment.

  • A VDisk migration: "Incompatible device support specified for the device '0'"

    Hi people,

This is the error that I saw when I tried to migrate a virtual disk (RAW, from an array) to another data store (and migration to a provisioning). I select the virtual machine, and then migrate, and then in the options advanced, I select only that the disc (cold migration, stop the virtual machine). The error was at the end of the process... (a lot of minutes... hours...)

    Thanks in advance

Maybe the fact that I'm that one disc, in RAW, migration is the problem?

Seems that Yes, but it should work.

Another solution is to convert your drive from RDM to vmdk using vmfstools command line (also with VM power off).

  • BlackBerry Smartphones really backup and restore for the OS upgrade

    Hi all

I'm new in the world of BB and I love it.

I've recently updated the OS of my BB "BOLD" and was a little surprised by the backup and restore process...

He missed some relevant info such as: BB Messenger discussions, certain parameters (network, wifi, email passwords options options...).

Is there a way to really back up everything before the update of the OS? That's all just annoying (even if it's no big deal, the vast majority is here...)

Thank you and have a nice day.

    See you soon

We are not effective, we are just bored.

The difference is this: I saw the backup upgrade automatically deleted at the end of the upgrade process. Your backup beforehand will ensure you the data for use if necessary.

  • deployment of static html files (for the documentation of the application)

I'm developing with forms 11g for windows and linux deployment.

I want to deploy my application help documentation, I've already migrated from hlp to html / css.

Now, I would like to know where I can deploy only the html files to invoke with web.showdocument (for example).

What relative path of the url in the web.showdocument is built in?

I can the jar as I did with the icons?

    OK, thanks anyway,

The problem is with my setup of weblogic, because it is a windows developer position.

I will send instructions to the sysadmin and try to do it in linux deployment server.

I also tried with WLExcludePathOrMimeType, as read in the manual of this

    Note:

When including those defined by the user aliasMatch with the prefix /forms/ in forms.conf , add the directive WLExcludePathOrMimeType . For example, under Linux, when you set the aliasMatch to /forms/usericons in forms.conf , the directive WLExcludePathOrMimeType is defined as follows:

    AliasMatch /forms/usericons/(..*) "/home/userx/myicons/$1" WLExcludePathOrMimeType /forms/usericons/
